I really like this place. The atmosphere. I love the music they play while your eating. (Tejano) The tortillas are homemade both corn y flour. The staff is so friendly. The food is great. The Caldo’s, the Menudo and the Guiso de res delicious. The salsa too. Just over all I love this place. Definitely a place we’re bring family when they come from out of town.
I've loved Tipicos since the week it opened. I ate there several times a week for breakfast lunch or dinner when I lived nearby but now I make special trips to eat there. Everything is delicious. I don't eat Tex Mex because their authentic Mexican dishes are fabulous. Their handmade fresh salsas and made in house chips and tortillias are the best in Dallas! Service is friendly and prompt no matter how busy they are!
Best place I have found in Dallas for authentic Mexican food. _Everything_ is delicious!
Im very picky when it comes to Menudo...but just tried it yesterday and it was very surprisingly good...I also my children are very picky eaters and Thank God they serve breakfast all day...my kids can eat chirizo and pappas w/ huevo and their flour tortillas hit the spot...as busy as they were thay day...service was not very fast but we still didnt wait too long to receive our food!! give it a 5!!!!
This place was awesome! great food great service, I loved it, will definitely go again.
I've been going to Típicos a year now. I Iove the place! The food is very authentic, especially the flour tortillas. I was there last night. Mom and I were very hungry. On this particular night, however, I don't know if they have a new cook or what but I was very disappointed with the service. There were only two waitresses working the floor. They were slow in serving us. Then they bring out the food and it's Luke warm. I was so hungry I didn't want to tell the waitress to reheat it as my mom's chicken soup had to be returned as it was cold and it took a while for the waitress to return with the soup. Then the soup was too salty. Then I had to ask for fresh rice as you can tell when they give the last of the rice. I ate mine cause I was hungry but I asked for fresh rice for my mom. I can tell my mom didn't enjoy it. I was very disappointed. I don't know if the waitress took long to get our order or the food was served warm. I can't say I won't go back because I will. Like they say, it was one in a million incident and we were the one! Other than that the food and service is great!
I can honestly say, BEST Mexican food restaurant I have ever been to! Everything was amazing, even the rice and beans! My kids also loved watching the planes fly over us :) I will be bragging about this restaurant to everyone I know!
If you enjoy your Mexican food tipicos is a place to come whatever you get it's all good tipicos
Excellent food, true Mexican flare, moderate pricing. Well worth the visit.
Best authentic Mexican food in Dallas! We come to this restaurant at least a few times every time we visit Dallas.
Top notch food evertime!!! Always get the fajitas. Have never been let down. Can be crowded at times, but food well worth it. No mystery why this place is ALWAYS packed
The food it great but I only order to go because the service is very bad!!
AUTHENTIC!!!. About as authentic and inexpensive as you can get. Place gets crowded. Get in where you fit in because it's worth it. Try the Guisado, Taco Chicharron or Taco De Lengua
I absolutely love this place! Two thumbs up :)
This is food I grew up on! The barbaco is awesome! Menudo comes with or without patas!! Salsa was great and the staff is friendly and very attentive. We will be back!
Very Popular place. Authentic Mexican food all day and night: including breakfast. Seat yourself and enjoy.
The tortillas are homed-made and very delicious, corn and flour, and can be a meal in themselved. You also get two salsas at the table, one cold and one warm to enjoy. I had the beef soup with vegetables and enjoyd every single bite.
Will definitely go back for more. This place is packed almost all the time, so try to show up early during meal times or expect to wait to be seated. If you are lucky, they have a musician with a guitar singing live too.
Tipico's Guesado De Puerco. This my #1 comfort dish. It is delicious. Tipico's is one of Dallas's best kept secrets along with Avila's Mexican Restaurant... Wink WInk!
Best Mexican food in Dallas
Best Mexican!. Authentic! Authentic! Authentic! I love the tortillas with avocado and tomatoes on top. Simple and GOOD. Everything is good here. It's Mexico!
Amazing food and service!! The only place that I truly love to eat at when visiting my daughter in Dallas. Homemade everything! The prices are very affordable and always delicious. Just as good, if not better than home cooking.... Love, love, love!! They do have 2 locations, but this one is my all time favorite! Amazing job y'all!
Very good. It was my 1st visit. They have daily specials for $7.75. Today was beef enchiladas. Tasted excellent. Love the salsa.
This is what comfort food looks like. You come in and sit anywhere you like, then you’re met with warm chips and two different salsas. The warm salsa is so good. Flour tortillas — order them, idgaf if you’re counting carbs, we don’t do that here. I can’t find anything on the menu that doesn’t taste homemade. It’s just simple, good food from a small place that feels like home. I am a customer for life.
Delicious from scratch food in a relaxed atmosphere. I’ve never had chorizo with my chilaquiles before and they did not disappoint. Tortillas are handmade in house and the beans are made fresh in house just like everything else.
This place is usually always busy , quick service , authentic Tex Mex .. prices are decent
Home style Mexican food , will not disappoint.
Hot sauce , picante excellent.
Delicious food, Extremely cold environment with mediocre customer service. My coworker and I popped in for a bite after work. We ordered the chicken quesadilla & tosada plates everything was delicious. The tosadas could have used some refried beans in my opinion to absorb the liquid from the ground beef.
However once our food arrived we never saw our waitress again. You can tell this is an establishment where their customers come in a daily basis. So, the staff was more social and accommodating to those regulars. I would definitely recommend this place based on my experience. Next time I'll take my order to-go.
Really amazing lengua tacos and the chips and salsa is really good too. Service is awesome too. Best recommendations I can give!
Authentic tacos and homemade salsa-
Very much a hole in the wall type of place and best known for its authentic taste.
Even had homemade empanadas (caramel and strawberry) at the counter to grab and go!
Absolutely fantastic, the food is authentic and delicious. The servings are just right, the quality is up there it comes out fast. The place was packed when we arrived. Well worth the stop and will be back again.
Had a lunch meeting here the food was good and our server Mildred was amazing. This was my first time but will definitely be back.
I'm originally from San Antonio, TX where we take pride in our food which we are well known for. Tipico's would fit perfectly well in SA and happy that the city and people of Dallas own this absolute gem. I always order their menudo which is 5 star as well, made with love and perfection. On the sides, I get a bean and cheese Taco with bacon and toasted tortilla like a quesadilla. The Taco AL Carbon on flour tortillas is also mouthwatering. The chips are good as well, their salsas, and so is the tea. Nothing bad to say about Tipicos other than there is a wait at least 20 minutes which is well worth it. 😉
