We just finished a fabulous dinner at the French Room. The renovation was done tastefully and doesn't leave you wishing for the past restaurant. The food was spectacular and the service was on pointe. The French Room has always been our number one pick in the area and it stays at the top of our list. My husband commented that if he could eat anywhere that we have eaten in the world, he would choose the French Room. No complaints. Pure perfection. We drove 2 hours both ways to eat here and would do it again without question. I can't wait to come back.
The chef and his staff are wonderful, it is a different restaurant indeed, we are glad to have known the previous and now this new era, great food, great wine list, and recognized some of their great Dallas waiters from other local haute cuisine restaurants that came over here. Overall a wonderful dining experience with the flair expected as you're greeted to your table. Highly recommended.
The French Room was wonderful. We had our anniversary dinner and the service was great as well as the food being wonderful. Our waiter, Jared was terrific and professional. Even the valet service was very professional.
We will be back!
I fell in love with this place. The food was excellent but the service OMG what a wonderful staff of perfection!
This is the best meal I've ever eaten, as well as the most expensive. The environment was gorgeous, and the service amazing relaxing. What an experience!!!
We went for our anniversary, it was amazing. We will most definitely be back in the future. Loved the service, the food and the pampering
This is the finest, best food, and best service hotel eatery in Dallas.
We had the tasting menu- exquisite, delicious and inventive- also a beautiful presentation and excellent service!
This was our 1st visit after their mayor Restauration, the food was great, the service probably better that before
Amazing! Tea was wonderful Fi & Erwin were so kind and accommodating for our birthday group. We had a great time.
Celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here! Service was perfect . We enjoyed every coarse.
The French room was a dream! I had 2 friends visiting from out of town and it was the perfect start to a fun girly day in Dallas! The finger sandwiches and salty bites were good, not great. The scones were buttery and perfect. The champagne was smooth and full. The teas were flavorful. And the desserts were all so good! Our server was so kind and everyone was accommodating to us arriving a little bit late! I will definitely be back, and I hope everyone gets to experience the French room at least once!
For my wife's birthday, our family had the pleasure of experiencing high tea at The French Room in the historic Adolphus Hotel in downtown Dallas. The hotel's grandeur is evident in its ornate and finely decorated interior. The French Room itself exudes elegance, with its light-filled space, stunning chandeliers, and exquisite trim.
The service was impeccable, showing attention to the smallest details. Our high tea comprised champagne, three different types of tea, a variety of carefully curated finger sandwiches, and a delightful dessert at the end. As the price leans toward the higher end, I see it as worthwhile for special occasions.
Given the parking challenges downtown, I would recommend using the valet service, which is quite reasonably priced at a discounted $10. In summary, The French Room at the Adolphus Hotel comes with my highest recommendation.
We took a friend here for her birthday and had a lovely time. The ambience is very intimate, and the service was excellent. I felt like I had an out of body experience when I ate the scones! They were absolutely worth the entire visit. All of the finger sandwiches and desserts were wonderful as well! The tea was also delicious, really appreciated that they explained the tea and what to drink it with.
Service was impeccable and ambiance beautiful. We very much so enjoyed our afternoon there today, and the holiday decor made it extra special. The golden kaluga caviar was very nice as well. Very buttery. The low star reviews below are too funny. If you cannot afford to go, don’t go. Leaving them a bad review because you can’t afford it plus tip is unfair.
This is a wonderful place for a high tea. The room is expansive and grand with 2 giant chandeliers, long and small tables for all party sizes. The decor is elegant and bright with plenty of natural light.
My favorite part was the lobby which you do not need to have a reservation to visit. Super old school office/sitting room style with velvet couches/chairs, grand stairs and grand piano.
The staff were very kind for the exception of one young waiter we had an issue with the amount of food we received vs. what we ordered. He argued with us about the number of trays as if we had hid one from him. Thankfully the staff noticed the fracture in the event and reassigned a new server who was so hospitable and kind. She saved the day.
We planned a large 24 person party with a mix of adults and kids and it was magical. Everyone was so happy to be there. Hallie did great communicating with me throughout the planning process. Also, we worked with Byron for the floral arrangements and they were perfectly paired to our theme.
The food was very good - my favorite were the cucumber sandwiches and the pineapple jellied dessert.
Would love to come back someday.

Absolutely gorgeous venue. The food was below our expectations, The server made a mistake and forgot one tier of sandwiches he argued with us in front of all of our guests (23 people) Like we were hiding a three tier serving tray. We were then assigned an additional server which they charged us for! She was fantastic. The venue was the best part. My Daughter purchased the floral arrangements as well. Be sure to get an email confirming all the pricing.
Celebrated my birthday here. It was so magical and beautiful. They attended my family with such love and patience. Jesus was very kind. Can’t wait to go again!
The Adolphus is a lovely historic hotel located in downtown Dallas. I went to experience the history and enjoy afternoon tea at The French Room. It was very adequate, however I found it a little surprising at the lackluster ambience that was exhibited. The floral arrangement at the front desk was noticeably wilting and I have to say, the teas were not anything extraordinary as I would have expected. That being said, It is a pleasant experience that is definitely worth considering. The host and staff were very attentive. I recommend taking a walk around the hotel, it is worth seeing. Enjoy!
I LOVED The French Room. Located inside the beautiful Adolphus hotel (which btw, is a beauty) I had the most amazing high tea experience. The ambiance was elegant, service was exceptional, and the food was delicious! I highly recommend The French Room for anyone whose looking for a cute and memorable tea experience!

Sophistication on another level! Everyone deserves to treat themselves to the amazing ambience of the French Room, and Lounge. While the dining area is bright, and whimsical, the lounge is subtlety intimate, and sexy. From high tea, to exquisite dinner cuisine, your dining, and cocktail experience will be memorable. Absolutely; reservations, and proper attire are highly suggested. Although it’s one of the fancier places in Dallas, come mentally relaxed, because the professional staff, and diverse clientele, will make you feel right at home, no matter where you’re from. Maybe we’ll be enjoying the French Room the same evening, if so, say hello! Xoxo Lorenzo
My boyfriend took me to The French Room for a late Valentines Day dinner. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. We purchased both wine packages so we could sample all of them. After the amazing food, Chanpagne came paired to each dish. The food was phenomenal! The staff were phenomenal! I can say nothing bad about this place. The atmosphere was one of elegance and prestige, yet that didn't stop me from laughing the whole night with my guy. I'm so thankful to have had the pleasure of an extremely eleqent meal with a grand atmosphere to experience along with the finest food ever. The establishment was super clean, and the staff were amazingly educated about every dish and wine. I recommend this place to anyone wanting a truly amazing dinner experience.
Such a beautiful place, and the servers go above and beyond to make you feel special. The food was very good, especially the pineapple dessert. The tea and wine pairings were impressive as well. This place makes you feel transported into every little girl's dream. Lovely.
Went for a special occasion. The atmosphere and ambiance were amazing. We loved the atmosphere, service, and food. All categories were on point for high expectations. Worth going. $$$$
It was a great experience high tea with girlfriend at this beautiful place. Warm hospitality and good food. The online reservation has a cancellation policy therefore a credit card information has to be entered to complete a reservation. There’s discount valet parking for $10. The afternoon tea for two is total $169.98 including tax and gratuity
An experience that everyone should enjoy at least once! Very expensive but you get phenomenal service and excellent food. The hotel and room are splendid! Take as many photos as possible and the staff gets all the good angles!
We visited the French Room for my birthday this year and couldn't have had any better of an experience than we did!
The staff was phenomenal and very knowledgeable. They accommodated us as soon as we arrived up until we left.
Compliments to the chef for an outstanding menu and the choices of tea fit perfectly. Even though one of my girl friends wasn't much of a tea drinker, she had left highly complimenting them and thoroughly enjoying them.
We will be returning to enjoy other seasonal menus in the future.
Awesome way to spend a Sunday morning. We have been to many high teas and this was lovely. Service was great (Thanks Connie!!!). The caviar add-on is absolutely worth it. Champagne is tasty. Teas were very nice. As some noted, you don't choose your own teas. This doesn't bother me at all. I enjoyed having a pairing I didn't have to think about. We also liked that we didn't have to be in charge of steeping the tea ourselves. If I had any criticism, it is just that the dessert cakes were very sweet and there were just too many of them. With that said, they pair nicely with the tea, but we aren't big into sweets. When I'm in town next I'll keep that in mind when selecting a day to visit so I can take the extra back to my hotel room so they don't go to waste. Overall, we enjoyed it and it was a great ending to our Dallas trip.
