My husband and I, friends and family have been eating at Don Pepes Rancho Mexican Grill for several years, and it's the only Mexican restaurant that we go to. The food is excellent, authentic and has many healthy choices or alternative food choices if you're on a special diet. I have diabetes, but when I check my blood sugar after we've eaten a hearty dinner there, I get my lowest readings of the week. I attribute that to the fact that they always use such fresh, not highly processed ingredients. The wait staff is friendly, helpful and quite good at what they do, so we always feel welcome and very much at home. The prices are also quite reasonable, especially on Wednesday, which is "ladies night" when all women get a discount on their food. Janice E.

Our favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant. Every thing good, but favorites are chicken enchiladas with sour cream and side of salsa Verde ; both styles of tacos, and the flaming dish for two. Love they added draft beers and cervecie.

Dael was our waiter, very friendly & great customer service. It was our 1st time there & he was helpful. Food arrived quickly, hot & delicious. The sour cream chicken enchiladas were great. There was so much chicken. Better than any I've had at the chain restaurants. All the employees were helpful & friendly. We will definitely be returning.

We haven't had a bad meal yet & this was our 3rd visit (3-18-18) in 2 mos. The service was a little slow this time, but we all have an off day now and then don't we. I would highly recommend you try it out!

Great food, great service. The Molcajete for two is great because the hot salsa in the stone bowl keeps the meat hot and moist. We stopped going to other places because their grills dry out the meat.

Everything was stellar. I had the ribeye fajitas which were out of this world. Recommend 100%! Our server was cool and very very respectful and professional. 10/10.

So husband and I decided to grab a bite for dinner. We had our 11 y.o & 2 &half y.o. our waitress was great. Brought to our table without even asking extra napkin, crayons. She was patient with us. Food came out hot & sizzling.

I saw the Flaming Molcajete on other reviews and had to try it. I gotta say I was very impressed! Chicken, steak, chorizo, cheese, nopales, shrimp and a delicious red sauce flavored by the chorizo. Super well served. It was literally flaming on our table. 15/10 Service was great! Loved it! And we are definitley coming back.

Nice spot. We walked in at 6:30 on a Saturday night, they were busy but there was no wait. Hostess and server were friendly. Queso was lacking flavor but the guacamole was real good. Tacos were good and the pineapple pico was delicious. Nice patio too. The area the restaurant is located has great outdoor space to sit and chat, walk or for the kids to run off energy.

I've been here several times and am always super happy with the service and the food is really good. I tried the flan recently and loved it. Also love the fresh guacamole!

Really delicious food. The host was super friendly and the beef in my enchiladas were super good. Get the She So Fancy drink. The drink is tasty and strong! I can’t wait to go back

Don Pepe’s Rancho Mexican Restaurant was a good spot to end the night. It was quite busy and a little pricey but I’d be back. I got the shrimp wrapped in bacon with a peach margarita and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Nice local Tex-mex with a “hole-in-the-wall” feel. The patio overlooks a green space and kids playground, which makes it all worthwhile. It’s a great place to grab lunch or dinner and a margarita while you watch the kids play. Service can be a bit slow, and there are certainly better Mexican food options around, but it’s a decent choice for a casual dinner.

First time here for lunch since they relocated just down the road from the last location. The new restaurant is very updated and has a nice area outside as well. I'm so glad that they still have lunch specials and the prices were reasonable. Salsa is still good, chips fresh, food was tasty and filling, and Service was excellent. Will be back for sure when we are craving tex mex. 👍

The prices are reasonable with large portions. The bowl of tortilla soup is really big. It's larger than a normal soup bowl. Tortilla chips are always fresh as well. I've also had nachos and enchiladas. My family has been eating at Don Pepe's for years. Always great service, friendly and welcoming.

We had a great early dinner at Don Pepe's! We ordered the most amazing dish the Flaming Molcajete, and it DID NOT disappoint! It's advertised as serving 2+. I think n it would comfortably serve 3-4 adults and easily a family with a couple of kids... all flavorful and not spicy, unless you want it, then eat the grilled jalepeno on the top! It comes with cactus leaf garnish, which is something I have always wanted to try. Delicious, a little lemony tasting and great with the food. This is basically a big fajita mix, so you eat it with tortillas and they bring you all the accompaniments on the side. It even starts out with a very tasty Ranchero Bean Soup. A wonderful value, and a fantastic presentation. 👏 Our server was efficient and met all of our needs, but didn't interrupt our meal too many times...it was around 4 on a Monday, and the restaurant was pretty slow. I appreciated the meal, the staff, and the atmosphere.

The new location is nice. The restaurant itself lost its small hole in the wall Mexican eatery vibe, it's now more updated and polished. Still looks nice. I was very pleased with our meal. The salsa was fresh and tasted more handmade and less out of a can than I remember it being (and honestly was delicious). Our Flaming Molcajete was fantastic. Full of flavor, fabulously decadent, and totally caught the chip liner on fire. Five stars, will eat again. I'm so glad they reopened!

Ice has finally thawed in Dallas and everybody is out on Saturday night. Tried Don Pepe's for the first time in quite a few years. They closed their Coit and Arapaho location a couple of years ago and reopened in the new development at Meadowcreek and Arapaho. First impression...restaurant was packed - good for them. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, and we were offered an accommodating arrangement considering how packed it was. We were set up in our own space, but it was about 2 feet from the restrooms. Wasn't too much of a distraction. Servers were prompt and courteous. Menu was pretty traditional with basic Tex-Mex selections. I ordered a house margarita on the rocks, no salt. Tasted fine, a little expensive. Waitress brought us warm chips with salsa that was sweet but had a little kick. Tasty. My wife ordered Enchiladas Poblano with mole, and I ordered chicken and cheese enchiladas with mole. Anyway, food was fine. Service was better than decent. Ambience was warm and inviting. Probably a little more expensive than comparable experiences. Worth visiting again.

Decided to go here for dinner one night. Very nice atmosphere inside. The waitress was able to make recommendations because I could not handle spicy food. The torilla soup was amazing! The broth was so flavorful. The bistec tacos were great too. The shrimp fajita was cooked to perfection. This is a wonderful neighborhood, family owned and run restaurant. I'll be coming back to try other menu items.

The service is top notch! The food is incredible with choices that are Tex-max and also authentic Mexican goodness! Their Playa Mesa will change your world. And their drink selection is perfection. The patio ambiance is everything and more. This made a a little gem that is family run and owed. Highly recommend!

We tried the nachos, chalupas, and enchiladas - all were delish! Service was good, only wish the patio had more tables & seating since the outdoor play area for the kids is right there, but definitely recommend the food!

We don't live all that close to Don Pepe's so this was only our second visit in the 10 years we've lived in Dallas (from SoCal originally). The food was just as fantastic this second time! We had the Salmon Cancun and the Chile Relleno (cheese) and they were both outstanding. Highly recommend!

My first time coming to eat here was because someone recommended to me this restaurant. I liked it a lot and I returned after 2 weeks. Some of the portions of the meals are very small, to say , rice or vegetables for the price of the dish is a bit expensive. The two occasions that I ate here, unfortunately, I had the same waiter, zero customer service, from him I didn’t even know his name, everything else was fine.

I am so glad this placed opened up right by my apartments! Absolutely delicious food, awesome customer service, ice cold beer, fresh and delicious food and it’s quick service and very clean!!!! I go here often and try to bring all my friends when I go. The chicken fajitas are my favorite by far! The El sampler is also very very good!

Great experience - the authentic atmosphere and friendly staff made it a pleasure and the food is great! Had the mixed fajita plate; probably the best chicken fajita I’ve had. It was moist and delicious, and the beef fajita was great as well. Amazing tortillas and tortilla chips with all the sides. The frozen house margarita, was refreshing.
