I arrived at closing.... I arrived shortly before closing apologizing for the time. The staff, particularly my waitress assured me there was no rush to order or hurry through my meal. I mention this because it was 9:45 on Saturday night and many servers are quick to let you know the restaurant closes in an hour and they have somewhere to be in 30 minutes. My dinner was great as was the wine my waitress suggested. I'm ashamed I forgot her name but she has fantastic red hair and a charming smile. If you want a good meal and great service, regardless of the time you can't go wrong here!

Amazing place. The food is superb and I've never met a more friendly staff. Definitely worth a drive across town to dine here! Ask for Sonja...she's knowledgeable and has amazing customer service :]

Great food. I love the thin crust on the pizza and the calamari is some of the best I've had.

Excellent risotto... The foccacia bread is amazing. Service was fabulous... even though it was packed.

I was only here briefly and had spaghetti and meatballs to go but I loved it! The staff was super friendly and it was a quaint family friendly atmosphere. I also really liked the decor which was so quintessential Lakewood that is chic but not stuffy. All around a great drop in of a new place that I plan on returning to whenever I’m in the area.

My daughter and I came prior to an event thinking we'd kill a couple hours. I was shocked when the service was fast However, they were not very busy when we visited. Our waiter was courteous and nice. The only complaint I have on service is we waited 10 + minutes for him to check on us to refill our waters once they were empty (I did see he was the only server so, he was very busy, which is understandable). The food overall was fresh and delicious. My daughter and I split a Caesar salad, penne chicken alfredo and for dessert, she had the nutella cheesecake and I, a cappuccino. The food portions were perfectly sized for two people (not one). I expected to have to split the plates myself but the kitchen staff put penne and salad two separate bowls, so, that was really nice. The cheese used on the salad was some of the best Parmesan I've ever had - hands down; crispy, salty goodiness. The nutella cheesecake was good except for the cherry sauce - DO NOT GET THE SAUCE (get it on the side if you want to try it). The sauce made for a pretty presentation but it threw off the flavor and was pretty gross to me (my daughter said it was just OK). I love that the parking was free and very close to the entrance. I would recommend better 'OPEN' signage for the entrance, we thought the place was closed and almost pulled out of there! Overall, the place was comfortable, clean, friendly with pretty great food. Getting out of the plaza was a bit of a pickle, it took 8+ minutes of waiting at the exit to pull out on the road.

The place looked great on the inside, portions were a little smaller but the wine that went with my meal was great. The family atmosphere on this tucked away corner by the lake is the kind of Italian restaurant we need more of. Awesome service, not annoying water refills, and understanding staff. Nice for a date night!

Excellent brunch selections in a comfortably styled setting. Joseph always takes the very best care of us! This is our longtime favorite neighborhood brunch treasure. Emphatically recommend the savory brunch waffle and Penne's breakfast pizza. (Joseph suggested adding bacon to the pizza and he was so so right!)

Small and cozy Italian restaurant with a variety of fare. Pene Pomodoro serves traditional pasta dishes and artisan style pizza, as well as a few complex signature dishes that depart from the "pasta and sauce" formula. There is a small selection of wines and beer to compliment your meal. The place is busy due to location, but most times the wait is short. The staff are attentive and the food is better than average. It can be loud at times when packed, and it is a popular spot for families.

Half price wines and pizzas Monday through Friday. Pretty good Italian food The interior needs to be updated to keep up with the neighborhood and the prices on their menu. If you don't want Italalian the trout almondine I rate as a B+. The wait staff is always friendly and attentive. Lots of families and older couples from the neighborhood.
