This was my first time having Ethiopian cuisine and what a wonderful experience it was!!! Excellent food and our waiter was simply awesome. Recommended the sampler dish and showed us how to actually eat it! We will definitely be going back.
This place just opened three weeks ago by two young couples; they are doing an amazing job! I am very impressed with the food, service and the overall appearance of the restaurant and the location!! Keep up the great work!!
This was my first time trying this type of cuisine and it did not disappoint. Ethiopian coffee and yebeg wot paired surprisingly well. Try it and I think you'll be hooked!
Officially in love with this place! Coming from Los Angeles and missing Little Ethiopia, I've been craving for some legit Ethiopian food in Dallas. Finally, my prayers have been answered!
Loved the food, nice music, roomy between tables. I will be back!
Great restaurant. Great food and service. Very worth trying.
The spicy lamb and collard greens ...yummy.
This was first time dining at Shebelle. Most importantly ever experiencing Ethiopian Cuisine. They made such an impression on me that I will most definitely return. It was not too crowded, they gave instructions for first timers on how to eat Ethiopia food, the staff was very knowledgeable, answered all of questions and gave fast and friendly service with a smile. Beautiful people!!
Ordered togo of doro wot, doro Tibis, yebeg tibis, vegetable combination. The vegetable combination is awesome and doro wot is good like a gravy, doro tibis and yebeg tibis are little like dry items. All of them taste good. The quantity of food served is good. Specially the tiff, there are extra tiffs served. Hard to complete the full dish as its filling and heavy. Definitely worth a try.
Was there on a Monday night and the place was not at all crowded. However the ambience was quite nice and the staff was friendly. I had a vegetarian soup - Azifa which is served cold. This soup was just amazing. For the main course I went for the vegetable combo which I must say was very satisfying. The taste was awesome and the portion was great too. The Price is very reasonable. If you are at Plano and looking for Ethiopian food this one is highly recommend.
Shebelle presents consistently outstanding Ethiopian food in an attractive and clean restaurant at very reasonable prices. My favorite dish would definitely be the Zilzil Tibis. The Zilzil Tibis were delivered on a hot sizzling iron pan with veggies. I also love the Shebelle combination which gives you variety of meat based and vegetarian dishes, condiments and sauces. The injera bread was so fresh and warm. The food always served hot and the wait time wasn’t long at all. I also noticed they have hookah on Friday & Saturday nights from 10pm-2:00am. The staff also made me feel at home. I’ll definitely be back❤️ Five stars!
Unique food that is very flavorful. The staff is friendly and so very helpful. They showed us how to eat the food and recommended things for us to try. This is a great food experience that shouldn't be missed. Immaculately clean bathroom and newly renovated interior.
Between our super sweet and helpful waiter, and the amazing food, I'll definitely be back here. We started off with some samosas that were fresh and steamingly hot, and moved on to different to a sampler dishes. Nothing that I had was less than delicious, and we had so much food. Kind of an odd building that made me wonder if it had been renovated from some other restaurant's interior.
First time trying Ethiopian food in Dallas and was pretty impressed. I've had it before in the San Francisco area, and I would say this was on par or even better!
We went for a late lunch on a Sunday, and it wasn't crowded at all. Large, clean space with lots of TVs and somewhat loud music. Waitress was friendly and have some good recommendations. Minor miss as they didn't pass my water test... Cup was empty for awhile before they noticed.
That being said, the food was spot on and made up for the water test miss!
+ Sambusa: excellent! Came out with 2 pieces and had a bomb tangy sauce on the side that really paired well with the crispiness and meaty filling. I could have ordered more of these.
+ Injera: perfect level of softness and chewiness and sourness!
+ Shebelle combo plate: came with Doro wot, kitfo, Yebeg alicha, minchet & vegetables. Everything had great flavor but the lamb yebeg alicha was probably my favorite out of all of them.
We'll definitely be coming back!
The service was great, the food was very unique and the combo was a good choice. The prices are a little high and the atmosphere was very quite since there was no background music when I went.
I have loved my food every time! Great portions, awesome flavor. I’ve only ever gotten takeout but definitely need to try sitting down one day.
This was my first time having Ethiopian cuisine and what a wonderful experience it was!!! Excellent food and our waiter was simply awesome. Recommended a sampler dish and showed us how to actually eat it! We will definitely be going back.
This was our first time trying Ethiopian food. We ordered the combo dish (Zighini) and two appetizers; Sambusas and Kategna. Everything was delicious! The staff at Shebelle was also very helpful. Waitress gave recommendations and even showed us the proper way to eat the combo dish. Give Shebelle a try if you’re curious about Ethiopian food!
Everything at this place was D-LICIOUS! I had the Doro Wot and the chicken was very meaty, juicy, and soaked with the perfect amount of berbere flavor. The injera was perfect, thick, and moist. They even opened 30mins early for me because I got there before they opened. They were so friendly and fast.
I will ABSOLUTELY be back.
Absolutely enjoyed this place! Our server was kind and the environment was very warm and food even great. A few of the desserts were not available this day, Hoping they will be when I return!
Ambience was nice, very tidy and clean place. I was trying Ethiopian food for the first time and i loved it here. Service was also good , server was attentive and sweet. I loved the food , only 1 reason to not giving 5 stars is the price. I got combo special costing around 25 plus tax, but meat ratio provided was really less, i mean only 1 piece of chicken? Granted that there were lamb meat n other also there but still i found it bit pricy for that price.Anyway no complain on foods taste & service
Oh I love this place. I have been dozen times great food, great service. I love the lady Hermella, she is really nice. If you want to have Ethiopian/Eritrean authentic dish visit this place and I promise you will not be disappointed.
They have a place/room for around 10 ppl that you can reserve. And you can small party.
Clean restaurant. Courteous staff. Got a vegetarian assortment plate and it was delicious/fresh tasing. Will be back for more.
We are here for a change of pace and wanted something out of the ordinary and we weren't disappointed!! Awesome food!! Full of flavor and spice but not hot- spicy. We will definitely go back when they open the restaurant in their new location. Same mall area but, planning on opening at suite 115 instead! Look for it and enjoy!!
Hands down one of the well maintained and tasty Ethiopian restaurant. Value for the money (Have tried vegetarian only)
