Came in with a group of 6 this past Friday and boy were we impressed.
I love that they stuck to their authenticity in the flavoring of the food. They didn't try to dim down the taste (and incredible funk) of what Lao food is known for!
I got the beef salad #15 and everyone loved it! Several people in my group stated that they would get it next time, and if you're looking for something healthy then you can't go wrong with this item. I've been trying to find a beef salad all over central Dallas, at numerous Thai locations, but hadn't found any. This will be my go to place to eat at when I'm in the area, specifically just for this salad.
I also got the papaya salad which is a Laos staple! I requested to make it at the spiciest level, and boy, did they really bring on the heat! I expected nothing less. My friend's brother owns this restaurant and I knew they would deliver quality and great tasting food!
Their Thai tea and coconut drink were super yummy as well.
Pricing of the food was very very reasonable. My salad was the most expensive of all of our meals, which cost 9.95 I believe.
I can't wait to come back! I really want to try their chicken coconut based soup which had sold out by the time we got there.
Tony and Moe the owners let us try some food today! Soooo yummy! The riblets, pork egg rolls, and sticky rice with smoked chili is incredible! Try them out!
I always judge my Thai/Laos restaurants based on their Papaya salad and who's in the back preparing it. I probably go there 3x/week for the past three weeks. Everything that I've had there so far is delicious. I'm a Zaap addict!!!
Me and my coworker ate here today. Our first time, she had Chicken pho and I had the Chicken Drunken noodles along with spring rolls. Everything was Great! Looking forward to eating here again
Great Pad Thai. The staff was very friendly. I will be back.
Amazing restaurant!! You can really feel the zaap in every taste
Perfect combination of your usual Thai food and interesting small bites!
Casual dining and friendly environment. Very authentic Thai & Laotian street foods.
Best in the DFW area. The food was cooked perfect.
Ordered a bunch of dishes. We enjoyed this. We will be back for sure!
First time here! 10/10
Service was friendly.
Clean expo, drink station, dinning roon and restrooms. My first experience with Lao and Thai food. So delicious. Got the red curry level 4 (very spicy, but very good) everything was so good!
This place is so good. I'll be back. Just know this going forward.
They are located in a strip mall just catty-cornered to my hotel I was at. Within walking distance, but just not in this heat. It's brutal.
Walked in and it's quaint. Not huge and not small but comfortable. They have two counters a self service and a full service. I had scoped out the menu so I knew what I wanted. The crispy wings and drunken noodles.
The wings were super crispy and full of flavor, my only beef was they were overcooked and pretty dry. Flavor 5/5 stars, but the overcooked made them not the best texture wise.
Drunken noodles were perfect. Heat was great, i got a level 3, veggies were good and sauce was delicious.
Great little restaurant if you don't want overpriced hotel food.
See y'all next time im in town!
Super chill atmosphere with some super chill service!! I took mine to go but the environment inside was super clean and friendly and inviting. I had the Tom Yumm soup with shrimp and side of jasmine rice! The rice was done to perfection and not over cooked and mushy and my soup flavor and spice level of 3 was just right!! I will definitely be back soon to try the rest of the menu out!! Tons of different options and they have an online menu!!
Great service and amazing food. It's all extremely fast. The skewered meatballs were meh but ok.
I order from Zaap at least twice a month because their food hits the spot! But today was special because it’s been a rough week and I craved comfort food. My heart felt hugged by this little surprise on my warm, delicious noodles!
Food was very good. If you can't handle spicy, definitely do mild level/level 1..maybe 2 cause it was still on the spicy side. A good spice, but it wouldn't have been enjoyable if anymore spicy. Also, definitely recommend the Joy ice cream macaroons...huge macaroon ice cream sandwich things. Very yummy.
Let's get into it! The food was DELICIOUS! The restaurant was large, spacious and busy. The staff were nice. I ordered take out and the food was stored neatly and was still warm when I got home. It only took about 10 minutes. I ordered the Zaap pack combo which came with papaya salad and sticky rice. We got the lao style papaya which was AMAZING! The best I've had anywhere. We ordered the wings and the riblets. I also got the jew som/crack sauce which was SPICY and DELICIOUS. Me and my mother shared and SMASHED. Next time I'll order an extra side of sticky rice. The portion was a bit small.
It’s been a while I’ve been somewhere that I can write a good review. Well I met my match today. Ordered pineapple fried rice and yellow curry with a strawberry coconut macaroon sandwich to finish off the yummies. The curry was full of flavor and the tofu was cooked to perfection. The rice was poppin and just as expected. The dessert was divine. If you’ve never had Laos or Thai please start here, you’ll be pleasantly surprised and spread the word. If you have any questions or need suggestions Sieng at the register is wonderful and will guide you to perfection.
Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. We had the garlic ribs, fried rice, spring rolls pork and crab. The only thing we didn’t care for was the meatballs. Try this restaraunt I promise you won’t regret it.
Zaap is my go to Thai place! The pineapple fried rice is my favorite. If you ask for spicy it is really spicy, they add Birds Eye chili and it’s 🔥
The soups are really good too!
Love it!!!! All the dishes we ordered look great, tasty and delicious. Clean, fast, kids friendly and most of all, just like original Lao/Thai taste.
Super good! Got the red curry at a medium spice, was one of the better ones I’ve had! Pad Thai was nice too for those that like it! I come here a lot, I like the basil fried rice as well. But I think their curry is definitely the star! Try literally any curry they all taste good.
Incredible!! Ordered the combination fried rice and I am very pleased. Filled with large slices of beef, chicken and shrimp🦐. Sometimes fried rice can seem mundane or you get a couple pieces of shrimp mostly veggies, Not here! Everything is seasoned well and I am happy with the proportion. Well worth the price. I will be back!
Zaap Kitchen is a great spot for Thai/Laotian takeout! I've been coming for about 3 years now and their food is always fresh and consistent.
It's not the best dine-in location, but it's not bad either. It's more of a relaxed, comfortable, quick bite type of thing. Majority of the time we just order to-go.
Anything you order on the menu is gonna be good, but I recommend the drunken noodles.
I’m all THAI-ed up for this casual dining spot with great authentic eats!
The chicken pad kee mao (drunken noodles) has a spice level that goes up to 5. I picked 3 and could probably have gone up one more level easily since I’m a spice lover. The flavor was a great blend of tangy and spicy with the perfect saucy consistency.
The yellow chicken curry reminded me of my times in Thailand. The spices were blended perfectly with the creaminess of the curry. It tasted fantastic with the white rice!
The Thai tea wasn’t my favorite — was a bit watery and extremely sweet, but it complemented my meal well overall.
BONUS: I appreciated the Covid precautions this joint took. They have a temperature check upon arrival and the tables are distanced well.
Avoid minutia and smash curry. I've had a few small items that were underwhelming. Also love sticky rice but the up charge puts it out of reach based on principle. Curry is amazing and keeps me coming back.
It’s so yummy! Very good Thai food. Highly recommend !!
