Food is good. Portion size is ok. Each time I go, the potatoe salad is different... I'm waiting on the kind I had that tasted homemade... this time taste like store bought with added stuff...

Being 6 months pregnant and having a BBQ craving late at night almost made me cry, I was so happy to see H&J still open at 930p. The ladies are so nice, the food is absolutely delicious and the prices are FANTASTIC. I got myself 2 chopped beef sandwiches and a stuffed potato. Not an ounce of disappointment! I'll definitely be back

One of the best loaded bake potatoes I've ever had! And the barbecue sauce is addicting!

Ok. So I have driven by this place countless times since I moved to Texas in 2007! You would think it a hole in the wall but this place was AWESOME, DELICIOUS, SUPERB, SUBLIME!! Not enough adjectives for an accurate description of this totally delicious BBQ potato... Go, go go.... Seriously you shall not be disappointed!

Ordered the mix pound brisket and ribs. Ribs seriously melts off the bone. Brisket will fall apart. Drenched is so much sauce it's heaven. Also ordered corn bread and it came with bread and beans.

There used to be a BBQ restaurant in Wichita, KS named Rudy's BBQ. H&J is reminiscent of this experience for us. Fall-off-the bone short ends, ranch-style beans, humongous smoked (baked) potatoes and melt-in-your-mouth fresh-cut fries. Sometimes you just have to go to undesirable neighborhoods to get the best hometown eats.

Get over the way it looks and try it. The best bbq in the country! The smell and pile of wood in the back should draw you right in. This is not a 4 star joint so if you're a "Karen" that needs to complain about "additude" maybe you are in the wrong part of town. I got nothing but great service and the locals in there were great too.

First time. Went on a Sunday evening. Pretty busy too. We got the Hot links and Short-ribs. Of course most of the choice vegetables were gone. The links were good. Instead of the ribs, I may try their Fish next time. Order ahead. The cashier was patient and very courteous.

The baked potato was meaty and good to taste. The lemon pound cake was excellent. I don't like going to oak cliff but a friend recommended this place and I wasn't disappointed. The young lady at the counter was pleasant which is something I always look for in customer service. Overall I'm Happy with H &J

Very nice service and really good price. I never knew what perfectly fried okra was like until today. The cornbread and greens were probably my favorite part of the meal. The large brisket sandwich was not large but actually huge and really good (wasn't as big a fan of the sauce though). But the beans...the beans. They were ranch style beans from the can. If I'm wrong, and they were made in the H&J kitchen, then I want the recipe because DANG they were good ranch style beans! Somewhere in the back they must have a recipe for beans that will knock your socks off. Come on H&J, bring it out and complete the masterpiece with beans that are spicy and unique. I can get ranch style at Kroger anytime. They were cooked perfect and still delicious but...ranch style.

Ordered 2 samplers and a extra side of potato salad. They forgot my bread and the potato salad it was the wrong size. The customer service is ok, the cashier, no matter who it is, is always rude. Overall the food is great.
