It wasn't the prettiest brisket I've ever seen but it is definitely the best I've had in the DC area. The bark was solid: a true Texas Dalmatian rub. It could have been smokier but don't take that as a complaint. It was plenty tasty just the way it was. The brisket platter is a hella lot of meat. I had the meat sweats after finishing it and didn't have room for the oinker I bought. It made for great leftovers though!
I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, mac & cheese and hush puppies. Food was great, service was exceptional. I will be returning! Next time I will try the freshly fried Pork Rines.
Very good family-owned barbecue joint. Brisket and Ribs are very good, but not limited to only those items. A mix of a la carte and platters / combo meals. In-house made sides are good to very good. Friendly staff. Not a large space but works imo for this neighborhood (mix of take out and dine in). I'll be back.
UPDATE 07/2019: It's sad to say but this wonderful establishment has closed and this grub is no longer available.

OMGosh, what a delicious meal!
The ribs just fell of the bone and the smoked turkey sandwich was AWESOOOME! Sides were generous and tasty as well. Enjoyed the outdoor seating.

Amazing food and great service! Seriously the best ribs we’ve had in MD. All their sides are homemade and delicious. They were all sold out of the brisket, so I can only assume it’s equally as fantastic as the ribs. So moist, tender, and finger licking good. Will definitely be returning!!
My order got switched with another customer's order. It happens. So I had to drive back to get my correct order. Instead of having the cashier apologize to me, the manager came up and took full responsibility and apologized. That's a management style I admire. I got my most excellent ribs AND a surprise gift. That's how you do business -- that's how you keep business.
Could not have been more pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem. The baked beans are loaded with pulled pork and can be considered a meal in its own right. If you want amazing food at a great price give smokehill BBQ a try.
Some of the best BBQ I've had in this area. The pulled pork was delicious. And the greens were some of the most authentic southern greens I've had the state of MD. If your looking for good BBQ... stop by.
Just had food from here again tonight after not eating here in a while. Not sure why the heck we took such a long break from SmokeHill! BBQ is excellent and the prices are very fair! It will be back in our weekly rotation if we decide to do carry out!
Smokehill BBQ makes delicious pork, pit beef, and brisket. Their sauces are good but not the best I've had. Their portions are very generous for the price.
Great food.. Unfortunately ribs weren't ready (in general not Pre Ordered) at the time I was there. Would have been nice if they'd have a sign (or mention of same in social media postings) stating what hours certain foods would be available. I drove out of my way and ending up with something less satisfying than the ribs probably would have been.
The staff is great and so is the food. They cook the meat fantastically. I find the sauces only okay which is why it doesn't get a 5. Try the pulled pork sandwich. 5 bucks on Mondays and its massive.
BBQ was very tender and moist and that was before adding sauce! I also enjoyed their coleslaw. This is my new BBQ spot and since I'm from SC that's saying a lot!
Two words: hush puppies! Honestly, I've lost count of the number of times I've eaten here, but everything has been delicious! I always get takeout, but they have a nice little beer selection for dine-ins.
This place has the best beef brisket I have ever had. It is incredibly tender and tasty. I drive over 1/2 hour to eat here for lunch.
Excellent short notice catering service, food was on time, hot & fresh. Everything was tasty, BBQ chicken was cooked perfectly, Potato Salad was home made, and green beans were noteworthy.
