My favorite coffee shop. Cozy & charming the way a coffee shop should be. Plus a huge selection of tea. And crazy amazing fresh crepes. Of course, incredible owner and staff that makes you feel like a regular the first time you walk in.
Great little gem! Real coffee! Great place to sit down and enjoy a real cup of Joe instead of the drive-thru variety! Even does take away... Love it!
Top notch as always. Better than any other coffee shop, hands down.
I use rumors coffee as my yardstick to measure all other coffee. Been all over the country and world, with the exception of Venice Italy it is the best coffee!
Great place to sit and relax.... excellent coffee, nice atmosphere, great decor and excellent owner. Peter will make ypu feel at home.
Love this place. Great snacks and even better beverages. Their chai lattes are the best I've had and their special of the day is always creative and delicious.
Great atmosphere, excellent coffee, good food, and great staff.
Cozy little café with delicious drink and snack options created by the super friendly staff. Prices are reasonable, the quality is impeccable.
Great selection of coffee drinks and pastry items. I really enjoy the cozy atmosphere at Rumors, and love coming here with my friends.
This place has the most charming decor. It's very comfortable and provides the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy some tea or coffee. I had the coconut chai tea myself and it was amazing. I also had their homemade chocolate chip granola bar--fantastic. I will definitely be back!
The best gelato ever!! And I adore the ambience and the people who work here. I would recommend this comfy cozy cafe over any chain. It makes me want to get back to Europe!
This is the best coffee shop in the area! It's a very cozy spot. Go visit!
The best tasting coffee and atmosphere around.
We love it!!!!
Delicious crepes & coffee while enjoying a cozy sofa and really great photo/art work...and Veteran owned & operated small business. Continued success, Peter and team
I've had oodles of lattes and pastries in my time (arguably too many), but Rumors has some of the best of both I've ever had. My mom and I stopped here for a bite on Monday around mid-day. The location is arguably not ideal, depending on your perspective. We were coming from Redding so our trip involved navigating around 84 and then slowly making our way down a busy county highway to make sure we didn't miss it (sometimes I let my Google Maps rest so I can live on the edge a bit). It's a little chaotic but also convenient in that it's a pretty direct route. I also enjoyed the fact that there was an intriguing canine grooming facility right next door though I didn't have the good fortune of encountering any of its customers.
Rumors is very cute inside; I feel like every coffeehouse is sort of unique/quirky in the same way, and this was no exception. There was a giant furry spider decoration encircling an entryway to the bathroom, a lending library and - my personal favorite - a TV showing videos of puppies and kittens. The only way to improve it would have been to have actual puppies and kittens roaming around, but I can only imagine the potential health code drama that would ensue. No matter.
I ordered their seasonal strawberry rose latte, along with an almond Danish. The latte was perfect - it had the perfect balance of flavor without being too subtle or too overwhelming. The Danish was more than up to the task of matching that performance too. Danishes aren't my go-to pastry; they're often too flaky/crumbly, basically the bakery version of a Nature Valley bar, and like their croissant relatives, often don't have their filling evenly distributed. This had great consistency in both texture and taste, and every bite was scrumptious and flavorful. Despite trying to cajole my mother into getting a latte, she adamantly refuses to drink coffee products and instead opted for a hot chocolate (served in an owl mug that I was pretty jealous of) and a cheese Danish. She enjoyed both and hopefully will be providing her own account of this experience.
Great discovery - it's always pleasing to find an establishment that matches (and possibly exceeds) the hype.
They have such a variety of drinks! They also have gluten free pastries and tons of games to play if you decide to sit inside. I was passing through so I stopped in and if I’m in the area again I would come back.
Great little coffee shop. The ambience is very nice and the coffee is great. The staff is very friendly. They have a lot of board games and old school seating. They have a ton of interesting collectible. Would visit again.
I went to Rumors today for the first time and I am already looking forward to my next visit! The shop itself is warm and welcoming, providing a comfortable WiFi equipped space to work or catch up with a friend. The coffee selection is expansive, unique, and customizable. I ordered the “bad witch latte” and a tender slice of banana bread, both of which were delightful. Peter has such a kind demeanor and is extremely accommodating, contributing to an overall “hometown” coffee shop experience which really sets Rumors apart from other shops. Go visit Peter and grab a tasty pastry to enjoy alongside your caffeinated cup of choice! :)
I love it here! Great place to work or chill and read a book. Great drink menu. Nice seating area outside too if you want to sit in the sunshine! I added a photo of the camp fire latte here from my last visit 😄
All the hype is true...got the macchiato (hot) and classy lady (cold) with couple of olive oil cakes and almond Danish. Everything was made well, delicious, and well balanced. I went for their olive oil cake but the Danish was even better. Great job by Peter and the ladies, very welcoming. Keep it up, will be back when i visit CT next time.
This is our first visit and I already know the next visit can’t be too long from now. We will absolutely be back! Best coffee I’ve ever had. Hands down.
Rumors is such a great spot in Danbury! Every time my BF and I are shopping or nearby we make it a point to stop in. The coffee & teas are great!
The first time we stopped in the person helping us was so lovely and we had a delicious mini banana bread loaf.
They have a cup size called the bucket (we still compare other large drink sizes to the bucket)!
If you're looking for a cute tea/coffee shop with small pastries stop into Rumors!
