Prime Pub is an upscale pub. We love everything about it, especially the service. Kathy is our favorite server and Jen, the manager is courteous, attentive accommodating. We have never had a bad experience here, so we will continue to go back.
The décor truly delights, especially with the use of wood, glass, and interesting artwork. The layout is very comfortable. It has been completely renovated from top to bottom and the entire front of the pub is all open, allowing fresh air to flow through. The tables, booths and huge bar are all comfortable to sit, relax and enjoy a drink and some food.
The food is awesome with a little something for everyone, we especially love the hummus, salads and calamari.
The best tap list in Danbury and excellent service as well. I guarantee I will be back more then once. Evening management and wait staff were great!
Fun place, great atmosphere and decor . The food was really good and prepared well and our server was friendly. I’ll be going back.
Absolutely love Prime Pub, the staff is amazing , the food is really good the drinks are so unique, recommend a 100%.
Amazing atmosphere. The renovation from the last place is incredible. The drinks are unique and delicious. Really nice high end, unpretentious but well conceived and executed pub food. Relaxed, fun and satisfying experience.
We just love this place. Exceptional service where the food is outstanding.
Great to have you in the neighborhood.
I enjoyed the food, ambiance and attentive service when my family of four dined at Prime Pub in late November. We had a great dinner. Loved the eggplant app!
What a great addition to Danbury! Ambiance is beautiful, inviting and warm. Menu is full of fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced options. Everyone in our party enjoyed their drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts! The staff is super friendly and attentive! We will definitely be back
Great customer services, very good food excellent price!
Must try the eggplant tower!
Great Place! Love the food and the staff is fast and friendly!
You've got to try out the new Prime Pub in Danbury across the street from Stew Leonard's. Great ambiance, friendly staff, top quality dishes served in an on kitchen. Kitchen staff is lead by Chef Rich Curry.
Our first time here after Bluu....Great for kids and adults together- tasty cocktails, delicious food, love the renovation! Can’t wait to come back and try more plates!
Connecticut really seems to be in love with the ski lodge, bougie pub vibes. That is by no means a negative, but I can think of close to 10 restaurants I've been to in the Danbury/Woodbury area that are similar in theme. Prime Pub is right by the chaotic meeting of Routes 7 and 84, and I imagine this is not a pleasant place to drive around in circa rush hour; luckily, I had the foresight to come for a weekday lunch. The interior is very spacious - high ceilings, oodles of high-top tables and plenty of room to roam. It's tough to feel cozy with so much space to work with, but this place masters that delicate balance well.
I decided to warm up the cheeks with the Strawberry Bourbon Smash ($12.50), featuring bourbon (of course), strawberry puree, lemon juice and rhubarb bitters. It was good, but not great - you can sense the potential, but it's lacking something to offset the sweet tartness (maybe ginger beer?). As a result, it reminded me a LITTLE too much of cough syrup. I thought the dried strawberry garnish was a nice touch and I might consider ordering it again, but I wasn't blown away.
For my entree, I went with the lamb burger (I think about $18.50) on the specials menu, which had feta cheese on it. The lamb was very tasty, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the feta cheese complemented the animal. I ordered it medium rare and it was probably closer to medium, medium well. As a result, it was a bit dry but still a solid burger. The fries it came with were perfectly crispy - I was a big fan.
My dining companion had the prime Kobe patty melt ($15.99), which she said was cooked perfectly, medium rare, but the cheese was a bit tasteless and gooey. Her tater tots were excellent, and the vanilla creme brulee was good ($9), but slightly overcooked/dry. I thought the price point for all items was pretty on par for the area and restaurant type.
The service was excellent, no issues there. Our server was attentive/friendly and stopped by on a regular basis throughout the meal. The bathroom was clean and had one of my favorite public restroom features - the water pump faucets that remind me of Little House on the Prairie. As an aside, the handicapped stall was one of the best equipped I've ever seen, with four different bars to hold onto, as well as a conveniently located flush chain. I didn't have a use for that stall, but anyone who needs to should have a fine time of it.
Everything I sampled from the menu was on the verge of really good or great. Given that they have the intangibles down (namely the service and atmosphere), they're on the cusp of being one of the best destinations in the Danbury area.
This is my favorite place.. whether for brunch, lunch or dinner. The staff is awesome, the service is great, the price is right and the food is excellent. I'm a regular.
Good variety in the menu. Had great salad with perfectly cooked salmon (good sized too), good selection of craft beers.
The food was really good. Connecticut Is stepping up with their pubs
Great place nice vibe, food was good, waitress was great, nice menu. First time there...will be back.
My wife and I sat at the bar on a rainy Saturday afternoon for a couple drinks and quick bite to eat. They did a great job in remodeling the inside and creating a relaxed atmosphere. The bartender was extremely friendly, cocktails were in point and there was a decent tap selection. My wife got fish tacos which she liked while I got the pulled pork tacos, also good. I would certainly come back especially since they have outdoor seating. One note *no happy hour* incase you were curious.
I like it nice burger and beer joint, had a giant sized Caesar salad
