My wife and I came in for our anniversary. We ended up doing a full course menu selected by the chef. We had no idea what we were in store for. The food was exactly what you would expect. We were blown away with the quality and attention to detail of the food. The restaurant is clean with a casual and friendly atmosphere. The staff is unbelievably friendy and was genuinely concerned with how we enjoyed the food. If your looking to get away from chain restaurants and are constantly disappointed with just average food, then this is the place. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Me and my wife stopped by while we were down for our honeymoon and it was by far the best food I’ve probably had. Absolutely amazing. I had the grilled cheese and the turkey and Gouda was out standing. I will definitely have to come back next time we are down. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly, kind and funny to top it off. I will definitely recommend.

We have never had a bad meal at Southwood! Great food menu and wine list. Robbie has been our server each time and did an excellent job.

Came here tonight for the second time. Being that it’s lent and I can’t eat meat on Fridays (and I do not eat seafood) dinners out can be difficult. I asked the waiter if the chef could just serve me a side of the house veggie etc. Instead he made a complete, and very delicious, vegetarian pasta dish. This restaurant is fabulous and can not wait to go back!

Celebrated a friend's birthday tonight at Southwood Kitchen. We had an incredible dinner experience. The food was clean, fresh, local, and delicious. Our server was instrumental in pointing us to dishes we enjoyed and shared. The atmosphere was on point--beautiful decor and professional staff. We will be back and will highly recommend to all our friends and family!

From the time you walk in the door you are treated like family. Service was top notch but the secret to this place is the imaginative menu full of excellent signature dishes but always showing off excellently prepared specials using ingredients you dont find in local restaurants. A true gem in the South Alabama food scene !!!!

This place does not disappoint! From New Year’s Eve dinner to Anniversary dinner to just a weekend date night, we have been so impressed with Southwood Kitchen. The bar tenders, waitstaff and the food are superb and we have been fully satisfied every time. My husband is especially picky about seafood and the swordfish was divine, as was the bone in ribeye. Good job, Jeremiah and all that work with you! I would give you 10 stars if I could.

We went there for New Years Eve and had the best food for the whole year! All four courses scored five stars!! The Diver Scallop was absolutely fantastic!! I recommend Southwood Kitchen to all!

Ate our first lunch at Southwood Kitchen today! It was amazing! Staff was super friendly and the food was top notch! I never get to go out to lunch, so it was a real treat! Can’t wait for our next trip.

The food is excellent! Love this restaurant. You have to try the pork rinds and pimento cheese...when they set the dish on the table, the pork rinds were still crackling-they are as light as air

Staff is awesome. Ariel was a fabulous waitress, sweet and knowledgeable. Food is gourmet high class wonderful. Had the steak ribeye and elk, amazing. My sister recommended this place and she was right on. Secret gem of a restaurant.

Southwood has always been a crowd pleaser. I have been here many times and am always impressed. We went with a group from work and ordered a few apps first. We got the pimento cheese and pork skins along with the wing chops. Both were good but pretty basic. For dinner I had the Durham Ranch Elk Tenderloin with a green garlic chimichurri, black garlic lacquer, shiitake spinach risotto. It was fantastic. My wife got the Mahi topped with crab meat, lemon caper buerre Blanc, manchago smashed califlower with grilled baby summer squash. She really enjoyed her meal and said the Mahi was cooked perfectly. This is a special place to go and always look forward to a visit. This is also a great place for a nice lunch.

This place is incredible!! The people, the food... The food actually has flavor... And boys is it over the top! Great variety of dishes... I had the Korean BBQ.

I had the franks hot chicken sandwich and it was ok. First time coming here so not sure if this is normal for them. It was a little on the dry side, chicken was more breading than chicken. It was huge, just not all that great tasting even with the franks hot sauce in it. Couple I came with had the same sandwich and the beef tenderloin risotto, chicken was the same and risotto was great. I would be willing to try it again to try a different dish. Staff was friendly enough. And presentation was good.

Pleasant upper class dining experience without the social stressors. I keep visiting to try the unique menu selections which change over time. I'm always impressed by how knowledgeable staff is with the menu. The bartender makes a mean old fashioned. ☆☆☆☆☆

ALWAYS a great experience here!! The menus changes ever so rarely so you’ll never get bored of the options provided. The staff is very knowledgeable of their menu and very very kind when waiting on their customers. I have eaten here so many times and no matter what, the food always tastes the same like the first time I ever took a bite when I was starving. HIGHLY reconnect.

A little refinement in Daphne, Al. We had drinks and an appetizer. I had the Blush Monk, my son had the Berry Mule and we shared the Artichoke and Crawfish dip. All was wonderful!

One of the most delightful and delicious dinners in the area. Started with 5 onion soup bisque that made my eyes roll to the back of my head and an ever so rare "oh!" Escape my lips. Then on to the main course of Amberjack. That once again made me making noises that usually don't escape my lips. Our waiter was attentive and full of great advice. Actually knew what was on the menu, understood the difference in fish. Knew wine pairing beer pairing and how to give us a great experience. This is one of those places that are worth spending the time and money on. 6 stars if it were aloud.
