Taranbir (the guy with the turban) is never in a bad mood, so whenever I go to Rajas Tandoor, I know that I am guaranteed to 100% of the time be treated awesomely, and I always leave there feeling better than I did when I went in.
Oh, and a review of the food! I almost forgot! It's great. And cheap! And how the heck can this restaurant make vegan food taste amazing?! In fact, their vegan and vegetarian food is much more delicious than their chicken. Heavenly rice pudding, samosas, naan, etc.
Lunch buffet + a drink + a small tip = about $9.00.
My one complaint is that no matter how much you want them to make your food 'spicy', 'spicy' at Rajas Tandoor = the equivilant of a jalapeno that has had its seeds removed and soaked for 12 hours. The point being, it's 'warmish' but it honestly is more 'hot' for Americans and a tad bit on the bland side for people who like spicy food. They do have shakers of chili, but that seems to defeat the point since people think you are just trying to be a badass by shaking tons of it on your food. Again, small quibble, otherwise a very very good place for food any time of the day.
Love the food, I have a sensitive tummy, and I can finally eat Indian food! I recommend this place for people who are lactose intolerant or are vegan. The naan is fantastic during dinner, and the staff are very kind.
My first time here, stopped by after picking up my UCD transcript. Very friendly staff and the food was great. The chicken tikka masala was very flavorful and the hot chai tea was the best I've ever tasted. The $5.95 buffet price was well worth it (the tea was an additional 2 which included refills, may be the best two dollars I've ever spent).
I have never received anything but kindness from the owners and great food from the kitchen. I don't normally like stuffing my face with spinach, but the saag here is delicious! It's also a great bargain for the hurried college student.
Loved the food and the energy of this place. Felt very welcomed by the owner. Will absolutely come again!
The buffet always has a great selection of tasty dishes. The price is very reasonable and there is never much of a wait to eat. But most importantly, the owner makes you feel so welcome.

We had lunch at Rajas on our way back home. The food is great. Great place with great attitude. He started talking with us. I do recommend everyone to go to this resturant if you are in Davis
I stan Raja's!!!!! Easily my favorite food in Davis, and best service.
I drove 12 hrs to get to Davis and one bite of my chicken tikka naanwich made it all worth it

Great food at a great price ! I love the rice pudding .but the food is awesome especially with the nahn and spicy cilantro and sitting out side on a nice day is great watching all the UCD students ride there bikes it's just of campus .
Favorite vegetarian restaurant in town!! This place is amazing and the food is excellent! I love the owner "raja" and his wife. They are really nice hard working people who just want to see their customers happy. �

Generous portions and the food was delicious! Will definitely be going back. And curbside pickup was a great perk to maintain social distancing.
When I have a hankering for Indian food but I'm on a budget, I always go to Raja's Tandoor. The service here is great and Raja is a very sweet man who makes sure your doing ok and if you're enjoying the food. With tax, the all you can eat dinner is less than 10 dollars. The have plenty of options for vegetarians and two chicken dishes. You definitely won't be disappointed!
Good good with really low prices very close to the university. Fun to walk over to between class. Quality of the food is like 4/5 but prices are real great.
We met with friends at this spot for a meeting. we heard about this spot from quite a few people. Well, it was very successful. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. We had a great time and we will visit this place again. Warmly recommended.
Delicious with huge portions for amazing prices. I thought it was too good to be true! Ordered takeout for NYE, first time trying Raja's, and it was great. The naan & chicken tikka masala were so yummy. This is going to be my new go-to food in Davis! Also, they brought it right out to my car at the curb. Awesome service :)
Great place to grab some simple tasty Indian, BBQ or a splendid mashup of the two. Tikka Masala & other standars are present and executed well. Try the pulled pork naan burrito it is amazing.
Don't worry if it's busy, it is worth the wait. Looking forward to coming back with my friends. This place has a great design.
Really feel that this spot deserves five stars, even if the food is just fine. The portions are gigantic, the quality is decent, the people are great, and the prices are eyepoppingly low (<$6 for a giant naan burrito??). Great for a quick low-key meal.
