The best experience in Dayton!!!!!. My name is Richard Pennington Esq. I live in Upstate NY, my family and I were in Dayton for the first four NACC tournament, We were staying at the Crown PLaza Hotel (Downtown Dayton) and I called down to the front dest to see were any fine dining places close, The lady at the front desk at the time had just got off of break, and she told me that she just finished a meal that she had from a place called "Delish" she raved about her Tie Vegan Bowl and how flavorfull it was, I could hear it in her voice that she was generally pleased with her meal. I had 15 people with me, we all got in our cars and we went on our "Delish" adventure. I was very shocked when we pull up because they had complementary valet service, The valet server opened the door for my wife and children and I started to like this place already, If you can make my wife happy and she is still outside, that's crossing over a stepping stone in itself. So we walk up to the door and this very tall handsom fella meet us at the door holding it open for us and welcoming up into this establishment. As soon as you walk through the door the place is a vessel of pleasue to the sences. I mean life entertainment, dim candlelit atmosphere, servers offering you there hand before you even sit down, I mean even pulling the chairs out for the ladies, Beautiful paintings as well as unique glass artwork as if you were in a art galllery. So after we were settled in any enjoying the live ent and the great visual prospectives, our server "Ray" came to the table. I got kind of tickled because it was the same guy who opened the door for us! "Ray" was awesome! He knew the menus (food and drink) like it was second nature. Now I informed "Ray" that we wanted to order some cocktales and appetizers, and he "said ok" and then he asked the group something that I have never heard a server ask anybody in life. He asked if anybody in our group were allergic to anything dealing with food? Three of my friends raised there hands and told him what they were allergic to, Ray told us to hold on for a sec, and two mins later, Ray comes back with the CHEF! So I was lost for words because I have never experienced this, ever! So the Chef comes to the table and ladies and gents this Chef was a MASTER OF HIS CRAFT, i mean this Chef knew everything that was on his menu, in not just talking about the name, no im talking about the orgin of the foods, where it came from, why you mix these seasons with this season to get this taste, how he can sub this for this and still get the same taste. His name was Chef Head, i will never forget this gentlemen, I felt like we had a personal advisor to our table, not only did he suggest what we should order, but he kept coming back making sure we were ok, NOW THIS IS THE CHEF PEOPLE! That to me and my group showed us that this man really had a passion for his work. He is really a Dr. of food. So our food comes out and it really went with the atmosphere of the place. Live full of colors, flavors, and very decorated. I got the NY Steak, My wife got the Chicked Marsala, Jim got the Baby Back Ribs, Mike got the Tie Vegan, lol lets just say that EVERYTHING was amazing!!!! And the rolls that they bring for the bread service.... mouthwatering. What really stood out to me is the Cajin Lobster, now two of my friends got the same entree but one didn't want spices on it, I like it when the Chef said "O, thats no problem, WE COOK FOOD!" That statement in its self put De'Lish on another level in my book. I really enjoyed my time there, My children still talks about Dayton, Ohio. We had a great sporting experience and then to top it of a excellent dining experience. I would tell anybody who reads this to just check this place out. If I was to rate this place from 1 - 10 and 10 being the highest mark, I would give it a 15 because of the extras. The holding of the doors, the chef making it his mission to please his guests, the handsome waiter that my wife was staring at (lol), the valet service, and to add on before we were ready to leave, Ray took our valet tickets so our cars would be waiting on us and us not waiting on them, the live ent, the wines, and the family atmosphere (seriously almost 4 different team members came to our table to check on us, from owners stoping by the table, the chef, our excellent server Ray, and the bussers, they ran a fantastick tag team opperation. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH TO THE DAYTON DE'LISH CAFE STAFF FOR MAKING MY EXPERIENCE THE BEST EVER!!!!!
