The food was fresh and the staff were efficiently serving a busy lunch crowd. It's a family owned business and the owners are very nice and passionate about providing great food to their customers! The fish dip is out of this world!

This place is really good. The menu is limited and simple, which is not a bad thing when executed well. My daughter (18), who typically does not eat fish, had her first fish sandwich and loved it.
We all had the fish of the day grilled and it was grilled to perfection. I was a little concerned after I ordered because I did not get the sandwich and was afraid that it might be lacking in flavor since it would not have the accompanying vegetables to add flavor (blacked always seems too salty for my palette).
I squeezed the fresh lemon wedge that it came with onto it. BAM. Just that little hit of acid was all that it needed. Nice and crispy bits while perfectly moist inside.
It is a very small place, and there is a little wait, but that is because they take their time and do it right. Not to mention all of the call in orders they were filling.
The onion rings are delicious. Very light batter and thinly sliced. Looked like an entire onion was used.
The shrimp looked like they were probably 16-24s.
Service attitude was polite and and friendly.
My only real negative was that the black beans. They tasted like they were strait out of a can. That is the only reason not a five star rating.
Prompt friendly service, spotlessly clean place, fish dinners were hot, fresh and scrumptious, prices not bad. We will go back again.
Simply delicious. Heard about this place via trip advisor when planning our vacation to Daytona Beach and can honestly say we were glad we went. Reasonable prices for seafood and everything tasted great! If your big into service it wasn't anything overly kind but not rude either. Great food for an affordable price. Glad we gave it a shot!

Simply wonderful!. It is difficult to find a restaurant that can get breading on fried seafood right. Bay Street Seafood does it! It is light and has just the right flavour to enhance the taste of the seafood instead of masking its delicacy. I ordered the "little bit of everything" seafood platter with onion rings. Crab cake was okay. But the oysters were to die for! The breading was just heavy enough to keep in the liquor of the oyster so it kind of burst in my mouth when I bit into it. Perfect. The fish of the day (I did not make note of the name. Something I had never heard of) melted in my mouth like butter!!!! Wonderful delicate flavour... YUM! Onion rings side was also in the same really light cornmeal batter and was almost like an onion straw. Hot and yummy! My husband devoured them before I could! This is a small (less than ten tables) restaurant, so get there early for lunch if you want a table. It was full by 12:15 on a Tuesday. Seems to do a big takeout business. Saw five lunch specials on the board, all between seven and eight dollars. Will definitely be back.
Deserving of the positive reviews. Great fresh tasting seafood. I watched the cooks prepare everything by order including my salad. Small place, don't expect to find a table for greater than 4. The food was prepared just right and tasted great.

Best fish in Daytona Beach. After 40 years of dining in the Daytona Beach area and watching good restaurants come and go my wife and I were THRILLED to find the Bay Street Seafood Market & Grill.
Nothing beats a fresh fish dinner, at least IMO, and Bay Street does it right. I ordered grouper and even though the grouper came from Maryland it was better than the last 3 restaurant attempts at 'fresh fish'.
I've watched Daytona Beach decline over decades concerning seafood... The great food has disappeared over the years.

Nice Find. Been coming to Daytona for 28 years, this place was a great find. Everything we ordered was fresh and cooked perfect. We thought it was very reasonably priced for seafood. Atmosphere was nothing fancy but very clean and enjoyable and casual. Bravo!!!! Gator Bites and Onion Rings were terrific. Tuna Sandwiches were really good and cooked perfect. Special of the day Mahi Mahi was excellent.

This place is a rare gem!!! I was skeptical about trying something new, but I'm sure glad I did! I came on vacation with my family and had a dreadful time at Joe's Crab Shack, so we decided to hit a mom and pop the next night. The food is WONDERFUL. The fish of the day sandwich can't be beaten- tender white fish prepared to perfection and priced at only $6.99! Everything is freshly prepared and homemade. Don't miss out on the onion rings!! One of my favorite secret little places. I probably go 3 times a month. When my daughter comes home from college this is on her must eat at list. Ed and his wife consistently serve excellent food. Small and clean, not fancy. A local favorite.

Small neighborhood style storefront restaurant, but don't let appearances deceive you. The seafood is top notch, absolutely fresh, and prepared to perfection. Great selection of fish and seafood on the menu and the portions are very generous for the money. I had the tuna dinner and asked for the blackened seasonings, but just seared lightly and rare and it was done just right, better than any high price tuna steak from a fancy restaurant, we had the Cajun spiced steamed shrimp appetizer, also very good. The sweet tea is homemade fresh brewed and the best in the south. We will be back every visit to Daytona.
The Coconut shrimp appetizer was delicious. Grouper entree was cooked to perfection! Onion rings were as good as you can get... There is a reason this place gets 100....A+
Fabulous. If you love seafood this is a great place, it is very small and laid back, however the food is FABULOUS. The cucumber salad is awesome, the fish is wonderful and fresh. The staff are friendly and the prices are more than reasonable .
AMAZING food. Cute decor. Super fresh fish. Onion rings are the bomb. Fresh tartar and cocktail sauce. The owner makes great key lime pie and clam chowder... In fact she makes everything down to the iced tea! Wouldn't know it from the outside but this is the best place for fish on taste and price.

I've eaten here 4 times so far and I've never had a bad meal. I LOVE the spicy steamed shrimp and onion rings. The corn nuggets (fritters) are great! The waitresses and cooks are so personable and friendly. If you have a large party and you are in a hurry, this is not the place to go. Be patient it is worth the wait.

If you want real Seafood, and at a fair price then this is your place. We enjoyed the coconut shrimp, crab cakes, sweet tea, onion rings, steamed shrimp, grouper, and scallops to name a few. I love finding local places and this is one. Skip the fancy places that over charge so you can pay for all their ads and go enjoy FRESH SEAFOOD here. My family had a wonderful time. Thank you!

A good fish sandwich at a fair price. Hey thanks urban foodies. I'm living here 11 years and never heard nor tried this place until reading some of these positive reviews. Four of us tried it tonight (Monday) and we all enjoyed it very much. Their french fried onion rings are as good as any I've ever had..The standard being Rutt's Hut in Clifton, NJ. These are better!
We also ordered fried green tomatoes (only ok) grouper and haddock grilled fish sandwiches and their shrimp salad sandwich. All the sandwiches were very good and came with cole slaw that was very good. Great homemade tarter and cocktail sauces. We had key lime pie for dessert and it was a good version..Needs whipped cream!
This is a bare bones type of place and kind of small. But, the a/c was working fine, the service was excellent, it was clean, very reasonable and the food was good! I would recommend you try it. I think you will be very pleased. Closes daily at 8 pm (Sunday at 5). Go and have some fun...For parties of more than 4, they say to call ahead.

What?! Good food in Daytona?!. My family and I were recently visiting Daytona Beach on vacation. I'm an avid lover of food, and I kept on finding myself terribly, terribly disappointed in my search for anything decent in Daytona. Even places I have been to before here have either gone way downhill or flat don't exist anymore. BUT.. there is this one little saving grace right here. Everything we tried here was delicious. The fried shrimp, fish, and oysters are easily some of the best I have had in quite some time. Also really enjoy the cole slaw, the thin-sliced onion rings, the fried green tomatoes, and the key lime pie. We ended up hitting this place up 3-4 times in the mere week we were in town. And I can guarantee that it will definitely be one of the first stops next time we head that way.
We got fried green tomatoes, fried pickles, sweet tea, and blackened fish sandwislch of the day. Everything was sooooo yummy! The onion rings were also great. They give you a lot when you order them as a side. Def coming back next time were in town!

Small place on Bay Street that gets it. Nice decor, outside area, and really fresh, tasty food.
Started with the clam chowder and spicy steamed shrimp - plenty for the 2 of us. The clam chowder was served nice and hot, and full of clams!! The shrimp were big and plentiful....great spicy flavor.
Robin, our wonderful server, then helped us pick a sandwich. We ordered the blackened basa with onion rings.
The fish was full of flavor and again, piping hot! The onion rings are homemade and have a very light and delicious flavor,
Cold beer, wine and excellent sweet tea. This is a great place.
We can't wait to come back tomorrow for the Sunday brunch. This is a MUST if you are in Daytona.
Fresh!. Love the fresh, big blackened mahi sandwich. I crave it, it's so good. But the so-called caesar salad was awful. Cute little place. The crab cake was so real that I got a tiny bit of shell in my mouth. ha

Spicy Steamed Shrimp. Being raised on the Gulf Coast, my standards for seafood are pretty high. This place simply served the best steamed shrimp I've had outside of the Gulf. They were medium to large sized shrimp, covered in an Old Bay type seasoning, served in a basket with a slice of lemon with some melted butter on the side. Their cocktail sauce is well blended. The cole slaw was mediocre, but the waitress told me that their onion rings are hand made, so will try that next time.
This town is famous for cheap, frozen fried shrimp seafood restaurants. This is definitely not one of those.
Best seafood in town. I suggest the shrimp. they are ginormous and super fresh.

Both times that I've been to Daytona Beach, I've eaten here at Bay Street Seafood. My dad and I were just about the only ones there at 2:30pm, so we ordered at the counter right away and sat ourselves on the patio. The Tuesday lunch special was 12 shrimp with fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw for $13ish. You can get the shrimp grilled, blackened, or fried. I asked if it was possible to get half and half, and they were sweet about allowing that. It was a good meal choice!
Service was very friendly and quick. My shrimp were delicious. The grilled ones were well-seasoned, though a bit too salty. The fried ones were perfection and what I'd recommend that others order! Fries were crinkle cut and fine, though I didn't eat many as the shrimp and hush puppies filled me up. Great cocktail sauce!
The only big critique I have is that when I went to use the restroom, I opened the door and a cockroach fell down from the door frame. Having lived in the South most of my life, I attributed that more to being in a warm climate by the water (cockroaches or "palmetto bugs" are pretty common), rather than a cleanliness issue.
Enjoyed my lunch and would come back here when in Daytona Beach, as well as recommend it to others!
I stopped by after a day the beach with my family on Memorial Day weekend. The service polite and fast. The food was fresh, well seasoned and yummy ! 😋 I like that they have a variety on their menu even if you don’t want to eat fried food.
Stopped by for lunch and ordered fish bites and fish with onion rings. This place is OUTSTANDING! I am picky with fish, especially fried. The young female Chef cooked it to perfection - crispy not greasy AND still moist inside. There are lightly breaded with a good light taste allowing me to try different hot sauces and/or dips. I’ll be back!

Have been going to Bay street Market for years. Even before we moved to Daytona we have taken out of states friends here on vacation. I always get the Fish my Wife the salmon. They are always Excellent! This time I tried the Shrimp Nachos. This was the most amazing item I have had anywhere in many, many years. If you are looking for a place to eat with excellent food at very reasonable prices look no more.
This was my first trip to this quaint little restaurant and the whole experience was amazing! Staff was very friendly and informative and the meal I had was on a whole other level! Fresh hot and so yummy! Will definitely be returning!
After looking for a seafood place on line, my husband and I decided to try this place. We arrived for supper and were the only ones there. Shortly after, the people started coming! Portions are huge!! We were so glad our server recommended sharing the seafood platter! She brought it, already divided on two plates and it was still a lot of food! Prices are very reasonable and our food was delicious. We will definitely be back when we come to Daytona again!
