Delicious, authentic Indian food! The owners are very kind and accommodating.
Great lil local gem. Not the fanciest place in town but lots of love in the food. I recommend the bhindi masala(okra, tomatoe, onion and lots of spices dish), lamb vindaloo(spicy), Butter chicken, or the delicious shrimp malai curry. Oh and the garlic naan. Too many awesome dishes to list.
Food is great!! I always order butter chicken with nan!! addicted
Great Tastes. Just picked up some take out food, the wife had the lamb curry and I had the goat vindaloo. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and cooked to perfection. I explained to the owner the level of spice that I like and what my wife likes, he was able to match the food to our exact liking and was very knowledgeable about the different foods. Will definitely will be back for more!
Bought a groupon hoping for good Indian food , and was not disappointed.
Loved the naan, butter chicken and the personal attention of the owner.
Definitely will be going back
Best Chicken Tikka Masala. Aavtar in Daytona Beach has the best Chicken Tikka Masala I've found in the area. Overseas, there are many delicious masala dishes done right, but here in the States, one has been hard to find. Aavtar nailed it.
Wonderfully prepared food. Just as I remembered from my time in India/Afghanistan. Definitely coming back. Staff was very knowledgable about the menu and the atmosphere is welcoming. A must go place for authentic Indian food. Afterwards you can explore the boardwalk or the beach.
Great Service & Good food. Tried Aavtar for the first time tonight and am sorry I waited so long. The service was very good. The food was good and plentiful. Will definitely be going back.
Fabulous food, savory, most excellent customer service.
Loved It. Loved the nature of the owner to start with. Then due to Christmas day, he didn't have lunch buffet but Thali. I loved every bit of the Thali. Will love that food anytime. Optimum quantity and tasty food. Thankyou Sir Jee.
Pretty good. Not really spicy though. Great service. Buffet was good. Not huge but pretty tasty.
Amazing. I am not originally from FL and have had Indian food everywhere from Vegas to England. This is THE BEST INDIAN FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD. Hands down. You may not be WOW'd with atmosphere but the food is the best. I would much rather have amazing food than a nice plate.
Good Food and Service. This place is worth checking out. We, like the rest of the patrons, ate from the buffet. The food was fresh and tasted great. Service was very warm and friendly. It is not as sophisticated as Bombay, but the prices are low, the food is good, and service was great. The majority of the patrons there were of Indian descent, which definitely says a lot to me about the quality of the food.
A real treat!. I really look foward to going to Aavtar each week..nothing else has the unique taste that they prepare. I really enjoy the tandoori chicken, i dip the chicken into my chicken makhani
sauce, (butter chicken),,,,sooo good! i love the buffet too...i get a little of each dish, it was so good, I bought some butter chicken in a to go container for home!
Have dined here a few times and it's fantastic. The best Indian food in town. The owner and staff are very friendly and the menu choices are perfect. Great lunch buffet as well. Highly reccomended.
Best Indian food in town and in a 50 mile radius. Love it!
Very good food. I admit the decor in the restaurant is a little off, but when it comes to food and service the restaurant is terrific! The staff is very friendly, and the food is by far the best Indian in the area. One of my favorite restaurants for sure.
PianoPlayer. Excellent Everything was perfect. This is my favorite restaurant in Daytona Beach. I am a (mostly) vegetarian. This is the very best vegetarian food around. They have meat dishes also, but I reccomend exploring the veggie food for a real treat, good health and karma.
Good.. I had just come back from a trip to India, and I was looking forward to sharing a few of my new favorite dishes with my family. So I took my daughter to Neelam, and we had veggie samosas and malai kofta.
I wasn't sure what to expect when the restaurant was completely empty. Since I am not from around here and the reviews were mixed, I was afraid to get my hopes up. The interior of the place was clean, but could use a little updating. It wasn't what I expected for an Indian restaurant. A more Indian vibe would have been nice.
The samosas were pretty good. The kofta was weird, though. I don't know if this is just an Americanization of the dish, or what, but the sauce was sweet and heavy with the curry, while the kofta I had many times in India was more tomato-y, with masala-like spices, and not as sweet. It was still pretty good, just not the way I had it in India. Also, the actual kofta dumplings were dense and solid here, like meatballs, and in India, they were soft and more like the consistency of stuffing.
Still, I enjoyed the dinner, and so did my daughter. It was a different take on the dish, but it wasn't bad. I would like to go back and try other dishes I enjoyed in India, and see if they are closer to authentic with those.
Tasty!. Having lived abroad for a while I frequently crave more than just the typical 'pub fare' that most Daytona Restaurants offer. So Neelam has become one of my favorite local spots.
It's a great place for Vegetarian cuisine but if you're a meet eater I recommend the Lamb Shahi Korma. Delish!
Don't forget the Nan - I usually just get plain nan but I always get at least two - you don't want to be without it when you're heating up the leftovers the next day - and there WILL be leftovers - especially if you start things off with a Mango Lassi! Yum!
The decor is rather modest - especially compared to some of the flashier Indian restaurants in Orlando - but the food and location make it definitely worth stopping by.
Neelam resturant indian. Been recommended for quite some time went for the first time today. very good, good price, service slow but very friendly. when you say medium, it was HOT i vote yes
Great little place for all dietary needs. We are vegan and didn't know exactly what to order. They have a vegan menu but since dine in is currently closed due to covid, we called to place an order. The manager was going to text a photo of that menu over but then just told us what his two most popular dishes were for vegans so we ordered those. Best food we've had in a while, honestly. It was so much food at such a reasonable price. If you're unsure what to get, call them and ask for recommendations. When I arrived to pick it up, the manager was so pleasant and kind. I would go back just because of his kindness even if the food was just okay. But, it was amazing all around. Can't wait to visit again when his dining area is open so we can enjoy the whole experience.
I absolutely love this place! Such a hidden gem! The staff makes me feel so well cared after. Being of Indian descent but with a very sensitive digestive system plus being a longtime vegan, it is nearly impossible for me to find a dining experience that I don't suffer from after. But with Aavtar, they take the time to listen to my allergies and dietary preferences and personally craft dishes not even found on the menu, to my taste! My very first time I tried takeout, the chef actually brought out a taste for me to sample before he packed it up. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel loved and spoiled with great food! Thank you, Aavtar for being so wonderful!
It's take out only at this time. The food was superb and the owner is very friendly. One of the b st indian food spots I've ever eaten at.
This place was a wonderful find for me here in Daytona while on my stay. When out-of-town, it is always a challenge to find good vegan food, let alone DELICIOUS, but this time WE DID IT! Meanwhile, my GF is not vegan so they had stuff there for her too of course.
The condiments were fresh and vibrant: the cilantro-mint chutney filled my senses with a bouquet of flavors, the tamarind sauce was sweet and tangy, the onion chutney had a nice bite to it. We dipped the naan in them all, YUM!
Ok that was just the beginning tho. I had Mixed Vegetables in a delicious brown sauce. The potatoes were golden and delicious and the broccoli by the way? It was cooked to the perfect consistency of cooked-but-still-crunchy, which is an art in itself.
Very nice staff here! A big sign at the register proclaims their allegiance with those vegan. What more could anyone ask?
Great food and hospitality! I have eaten here several times, and the inside is very casual and basic, but you can't beat the hospitality and the food is consistently delicious. We ordered take out for Valentines dinner at home, so the pictures are the Butter chicken , Chicken Tikka Masala and 2 types of naan. We had enough leftover for lunch the next day.
The BEST Indian cuisine you will ever have in your life!!! I have lived in Daytona for 13+ years and can’t tell you how many times I have driven past here. For 13+ years I have missed out on the best food I have ever tasted in my life. The owner is always so pleasant, friendly, and accommodating. They will forever have my business for life. Local or tourist this place is a must for all taste buds.
This is my first experience eating at Aavtar Indian Cuisine. I was impressed with how kind the owners were when I called in my order of butter chicken, garlic naan, samosas. They were just as kind and friendly when I picked up my order, as if I’d been coming there for years. Real restaurant hospitality. The food was absolutely delicious, huge portions with no skimping on ingredients. The butter chicken was some of the best I’ve had, creamy with copious amounts of tender chicken mixed in. I’m very impressed with the quality and cleanliness. Absolutely delicious and delightful restaurant owners. I’ll be retuning!
