The food and atmosphere was amazing! The gumbo tasted like it was made in New Orleans. The Jamaican Jerk Chicken Sandwich was to die for! Our waiter was new but very helpful. I will definitely be a return customer.

Every dish we have had there has been wonderful. Tonight's entrée special was exquisite. Highly recommend the food, and the drinks and service as well. Live entertainment too. A fun place to go in DeFuniak Springs!

My first visit was ok. I got the gumbo, which was delicious, but things seemed a little disorganized. Our waitress was very friendly and worked hard, but you could tell she wasn’t super familiar with the menu or their computer system. Went back tonight and had the crawfish pasta. Another delicious dish! Our server tonight was organized and very nice. The manager checked on our table and was very friendly! Much better experience all around this time. The decor is beautiful...we took a tour of the hotel after dinner and I was amazed at the work that was done to refurbish everything! We will most definitely be back...looking forward to trying out the brunch menu soon

Simply the best place to eat in Defuniak Springs. Try the broiled grouper,it’s superior along with their other foods. And also the best wait staff I’ve ever came across. 6 stats!

The restaurant is tastefully decorated, the food was delicious, with ample portions for even a hearty appetite. Service was excellent, and management and servers alike were very friendly and attentive to our needs. DeFuniak is lucky to have this restaurant, and also the hotel, which has also been updated and is invitingly comfortable and peaceful. We will definitely be back, and recommend Hotel DeFuniak and the Tropicana Club to all our friends.

Love this place! Come here often for the food, bar, and cigars. Fish tacos are the best! The only place in DFS with fun atmosphere and classy settings.

What a find! Couldn’t believe I would find a place so good and so cool right off i10. Definitely worth revisiting when I’m in the area! Tacos were awesome- next time I’m going to try the steak as the guy sitting at the bar next to me got it and said it was the best steak he has had in a long time!

Chef Ernie is truly amazing! We enjoyed every bite of our entire meal along with some great conversation from the chef himself. From the house made hot sauce to the to die for bread pudding it’s all incredible. Make sure to plan a trip to Defuniak just to visit cafe NOLA!

Great food, and fabulous ambiance. We visited on a Wednesday around 7:30/8pm in September. No wait for a table. I ordered the shrimp and grits. It has some New Orleans spice, but it wasn't overwhelming. The shrimp was plump and well cooked, and the grits were a great consistency. The sauce The roasted cherry tomatoes added to the flavor, as did the dice bell peppers in the sauce. It was served with a fresh mini loaf of bread, which was delicious. My husband ordered the burger. The meat overlapped the bun. At first, I wasn't sure there was a bun. He enjoyed it with the fries and ordered an extra side of jambalaya, which he also really enjoyed. We then had the key lime pie and beignet trio for dessert. The key lime had a great flavor and was very creamy. The beignets were fresh and delicious.

One of the best places I've ever eaten. I'm not particularly into Cajun food, but the fresh bread with gumbo, the decadent pasta, and — above all else — the spectacular, crab-stuffed, lobster-and-shrimp-sauce-slathered redfish were so good that this is the meal from our NOLA road trip that we still talk about months later. Beignets were delish, and I don't even like beignets. It's a really easy stop off I-10, and you should go.

A nice little cafe in town. We tried the fettuccine and also the gator bites. Daughter had the fried seafood platter. Food was ok. Portions were small for the price. Servers were friendly.

I would say this is the best place east of New Orleans, but it’s even better than New Orleans. My three favorite cities in the southeast US are Charleston, Mobile, and New Orleans in that order. This is the first time I’ve ever felt that I am in all three simultaneously. Chef Ernie is amazing. I didn’t order food, he just knew what I wanted and brought it to me. Stephanie behind the bar is an alchemist in a bartenders clothing. This is the best kept secret in South Alabama and North Central Florida. It is conveniently located to a 10 and well worth a 2 Hour Dr.

It's good to be back! My compliments to the chef. This was and it's my favorite restaurant in Defuniak Springs. This place always has made me feel at home. Again with excellent cook to order food to say the least.

Everything was great. My fried oysters were to die for on top of my fresh salad. The Cajun Bloody Mary was amazing. My husbands Cajun burger was excellent. The kids loved their food too. I would go here again for the fried oysters alone.

Ordered the shrimp and grits ($25), my wife and I weren’t very hungry so we decided to split it, SO GLAD we did, it was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of New Orleans spice to it… even after we split it, along with the sliced bread and butter, we only ate 2/3 of it and took 1/3 of it to go…. We also ordered the beignets which I think are better than Cafe De Monde in New Orleans… only $6 for 3 was just perfect at the end of our meal (we only ate 1 and took the other 2 for our kids). The servers were the most professional hanging out behind the bar on their phones and chatting away where you could hear everything they said…. Our server was professional but it doesn’t seem like they have a dress code for the wait staff which seems like an easy fix…. Overall a 4.5 star experience, would have been 4.8 with a more professional wait staff/hostess!! Highly recommend anyway!!

We stopped in while in town for Scuba training. This restaurant is a must for anyone. The decor was great, and then the food really took it over the top. We ordered thr Andouille Sausaage Po-Boy, the Shrimp Po-Boy, Seafood Gumbo, then finished up with the Beignets. Everything was on point, I am used to Andouille being a bit more spicy. Sides get the cheese grits....I was super Jealous of my wife's and had to try some.

Everything was awesome! I had a great experience here. The kitchen closed before 9pm but the server offered us something fried because we were hungry. Everyone was nice and friendly. The room had air conditioning a fridge and fan. The room was extremely clean, this is optional but the blanket they had was a thin one but if you are like me and love soft blankets take your own. Coffee machine is located at the reception and ice machine is also.
