A wonderful … but slightly mixed culinary blessing. When all goes well, everyone at least once in their life should experience such supremely fine cuisine and gratifyingly superlative service. Others among my guests ordered more traditional entrées, I ordered the Cioppino; it was delightfully full bodied and every morsel and spoonful was tasty beyond sensible expectation. My wife ordered the Land and Sea and then hardly spoke during dinner because she was so focused on the jumbo Scampi-style shrimp and Flat-iron steak (medium, not medium-rare; tasty but substantial); nevertheless, she did stop eating long enough to say that the asparagus were impeccably cooked. Others in the party ordered the generous Steamed Clam hot-appetizer for dinner; when served hot, the ladies commented on the full-bodied flavored clam morsels and wonderful sauce; however, their dishes were not initially served hot and the uninhibited complaints about the flat tasting cold cooked clams and insipid sauce brought Dave back pronto. The clams came back suitably hot in less than 5-minutes, after which the ladies were charming, again. They complemented the clams on their toothsome flavor and texture, and the white wine burnished broth which was fragrant now that it was hot. Our waiter, Dave, did not serve the clams cold; it was supporting staff who were not so discerning. My lady guests made sure that Bob, the manager was informed. Cold clam broth aside, our rating is 5-STAR because we had a lovely evening and in truth, Dave provided wonderful and gentlemanly response to the urgency of the cold clams directly. Note that I sat between the two ladies while I was eating my Cioppino for the full 5-minutes that it took to heat the clams. Dave got the full 20% tip (cash).

This restaurant has delicious food, and a great view. The service also impressed me greatly. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating for our large group. The food took an appropriate time to be prepared and was delicious. At the time of our visit, they had a 3 course promotion, where you buy a full dinner at a set price. They did have some gluten free options, but not as many as some other restaurants. I ordered the blue cheese salad, their salmon meal, and the fruit sorbet for dessert. When I return to San Diego in a few years, I’ll make sure to revisit this restaurant.

Such an amazing day at a great restaurant! Food was outstanding and the service was wonderful! We arrived just before 11am after taking advantage of the $6 valet. We elected for outside dining and the day and view was perfect. 11am was a great time to go. By the time we left at 12:15, the restaurant was packed.

The service and food was fantastic! They were not short staffed, so I took that as a sign that the organization cares for their team.
