Gotta ask. Why do you have to put in sooo much mayonnaise in your chicken salad. Do you think people really like it or is it just to save money?
Wonderful cafe to stop in and grab some breakfast and coffee on my way to work! Staff is always friendly, personable, and quick. Definitely recommend the cream cheese croissant- I never want it to end 🥰
Place is crowded and busy, the staff works very hard to keep up.
I waited 1/2 hour for my egg sandwich, but the ambiance is fun. They do a lot of take out orders in advance, which is what holds up the walk in orders.
Fantastic service at The Merc this morning. It was a hectic AM in our house and I rushed to The Merc for a lunch order that had some complicated (borderline annoying) requests. Never once did the girls working there show it. They took the full order, made it fast and perfect. Good customer service seems rare these days. The food at The Merc is ALWAYS good but the service today went above and beyond - we're grateful! Thank you!!
My family loves this place! The first time we went, ended up eating the food in the parking lot and had to go back in for more. My only complaint is they should be open longer hours 😉
Super friendly staff, high quality food. We liked the muffins and coffee so much we came back for sandwiches to go for lunch. All around great experience. The wait time was typical for a local shop in a beach town. Clean, friendly, yummy. Can’t wait to try more options when we come back next month.

I can’t stop going here! The coffee is excellent and the sandwiches are ammaaaazinggg! This is an excellent gluten-friendly place and their gluten free bread is SO GOOD! Do yourself a favor and try the gluten free muffins… so good!
They have oat milk as well! The staff is always friendly and the upstairs area is great! Plenty of room outside to sit and enjoy your drinks/food as well. Love the Merc!
Excellent sandwich shop with nice ingredient combos. Good fresh bread, too. Here’s a pic of the Merchant of Dennis salami sandwich outside the shop. Plan to wait 20-25 minutes if you order on site. Was a bit slower than expected.
Hands down the best sandwich shop on the cape. The owner is amazing and the staff are all super friendly. It can sometimes get a bit busy so be patient.. protip: call and order ahead! You will not be disappointed. Also they have a great breakfast burrito that people tend to sleep on... don't! All-in-all I've yet to be disappointed and look forward to stopping in again soon!

Had one of the best bacon egg and cheese sandwiches on a bagel of my life there. Great coffee, nice courteous staff, fair prices. Will def be back every morning for breakfast next time I'm on the cape!
