Fantastic service by our server, Grant, and amazing food. Third time at Matsuhisa. Very expensive but worth it for special occasions. Grant asked us our price point ($100 each for four people) and created a menu based on our favorite fish. Alcohol and bottled water certainly adds up. Will be back!
This dining experience might be our best ever. Dennis, our server was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. The food was exceptional. The wines were superb. We had a wonderful time. This was our first time to Matsuhisa Denver. We will be back. We will recommend and we will bring family and friends who really appreciate a special dining experience.

It was hands down the best sushi dinner I've ever had. The service was impeccable, the servers, hostesses, bar tenders, all of them really went above to make sure each customer was enjoying their evening and meal. Our server helped decide our menu for the night due to it being our first time. Everything that came was delicious and perfect. It was like she knew what we wanted even when we didn't. Can't wait to go back!!
This was an amazing experience from the moment we walked in the door to the time we left. Service was impeccable- we NEVER had to look for our server, but never felt like he was hovering. Food was incredible; both in taste and presentation. I would highly recommend

My husband and I had dinner here last evening and I can honestly say it was the best dinner I have ever had. We tried a lot of things and ALL were superb!! Thanks to Nobu and his staff for the wonderful service and attention and to Yuki for being so very hospitable and charming. We will be back soon!!

Soooo delicious! My partner and I came to this place for our anniversary and the staff made us feel so welcome as well as special. They made us a dessert for our special day and they wrote the words "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate, in Japanese! It made our day that much more special!

I was not disappointed! I have been to Nobu's spots in Aspen, Vail and LA/Malibu and the consistency of quality, taste, and ambiance is amazing. Our waiter, Heather was awesome. I will definitely come back!
Really cool experience and great staff to help you along the way. The sushi was tasty the caviar was good and the dessert was worth it! We also tried the beef skewers and the scallops if you had to pick, go for the scallops.

Everything was perfect! Being from Chicago has been challenging to find really tasty food in Denver. Tried some bib gourmand recommendations and was disappointed with the food quality, service, and experience. I was starting to think my standards were too high. If I'm shelling out I want to be wowed. Thankfully came across Matsuhisa and was like Nobu in Denver? I've been to Nobu 57 in NYC and was excited to try the Denver location. It did not disappoint, the service was top notch, very attentive and on a random Tuesday night no less. Water constantly refilled, cutlery replaced, and plates refreshed without asking. The cocktails were perfectly balanced and delicious. All the food was delectable and really reminded me of what I am used to back home. The tacos were fun and seasoned really well. Also if you have room for dessert the rice pudding is amazing, very delicate balance of ice cream, fruit, and crumble. If you are visiting Denver from Chicago and struggling to find a good restaurant this will hit the spot.
This place is amazing. It is pricey but the quality of the food is amazing. If you love sushi this is as close as you can get for high quality seafood compare to Japan. This place is delicious and very savory.

Food was good, not incredible. I was quite disappointed by the $40 uni… wasn’t fresh at all. All the other food items we tried were good though. I was more impressed with the service we received. The servers are so amazing and very knowledgeable. It was a great experience overall.
My sushi experience has been in Vancouver, Hawaii, California, Seattle, Chicago, SF, and LA. For Denver, people usually compare Matsuhisa with Sushi Den. Matsuhisa is also Ko mostly casual in atmosphere and dress. Service was great. Food came out quick. Fish was very fresh and tasty. To compare with the Den, it has similar prices and a smaller selection of rolls. But the Nigiri and sashimii were better than the Den. But the Den has more creative roll combos. Def try the crispy rice with spicy tuna tartar.

The service is on point here. Timely, professional and coordinated. Kudos to the manager, you know what you're doing!
The drinks? Awesome and well balanced.
Food? Like I said, maybe the best fish ever. You have to try their specials and go with the recommendations, you won't regret it.
Lastly, the desserts were nice. Nothing mind blowing but worth it nonetheless.
4/5 on atmosphere, for becoming a bit too loud at the end for my taste.

Out of this world. Extraordinary on so many levels. Redd our server was informative, professional and most importantly FUNNY. Great atmosphere, amazing culinary experience. If you are looking for the BEST OF DENVER… this is stop #1. Bravo!
Fist time at Matsuhisa and it quickly rose to the top of our list of Denver restaurants. Jordan was our waiter and the service was excellent. Everything we ordered was absolutely tantalizing to the taste buds. But top of the night was a dozen oysters that they prepared in various ways that were so incredible that we ordered another dozen. The sushi was incredible even including a few fish I’ve never seen before. Cocktails were fantastic as well. Can’t recommend Matsuhisa enough.
Had a business dinner at the Nobu Room with a great dining experience crafty made dishes. Love every plates. The ambience and service were also great. Didn’t get to take pics of all the plates we had but this one was the star of the show.
Most amazing sushi ever! The staff was amazing and made so many wonderful recommendations! Don't forget the shaved ice at the end! Can't wait to go again!

Absolutely AMAZING sushi place!!! Eric was our server. We looked over at the next person's food and asked what it was and Eric explained it was a secret item menu! The shisihito peppers were excellent. All of their dishes are shareable. I really loved the flavors. They all complemented each other. For dessert, i made a comment i was lactose intolerant and Eric said they could swap the ice cream for sorbet. Talk about excellent service!!!! ❤️
UPDATE 11/30/23 - this place is STILL delicious!! There is an off menu menu, so definitely ask about the items on that menu. Their wine selection seems to have grown! I tried the scallops and wild mushroom salad and it was delicious! Got the shishito peppers again! Tried the mango-passionfruit sorbet and it was so good. It's less busy during the week and much easier to get a reservation than the weekends.
The atmosphere is very pretty and calm minus the very rude drunk/loud people that were dining next to us.
Sashimi and Nigiri were pretty good! I do wish they had more than just 2 pieces per order. (Can get really pricey)
Was hoping to do a individual omaske experience but they do it family style which serves 7.
Overall, probably the best sushi spot in Denver from what I’ve looked at.
Great Japanese cuisine restaurant. Fish entree and salmon tartar were amazing. Per my experience sushi was a a bit understanding. This wouldn't be the first place I'd think of to get nigiri out rolls instead go for authentic and innovative Japanese cuisine.
Some of the best food and service I have ever experienced! If and when you go to Matsuhisa, ask for Hannah G! She's incredibly nice and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She helped us order the perfect slate of dishes, and thanks to her, we had an excellent evening. I'll be back!
Lovely ambiance, an up-tempo vibe with great music, an attractive crowd and delish cuisine. The Nebbiolo was beautiful, the cocktails were excellent. I highly recommend allowing your server to guide your selections and enjoy! We loved the spicy tuna with crispy rice-it's such a textured, tactile, interactive dish. Everything I've had here is incredible. Sat at the cocktail bar this round which I hope to do again, it was a total vibe. :) My favorite bottle of mezcal was in stock behind the bar. The bartender suggested a salmon nigiri upgrade and it was the best fish I enjoyed that eve. I love this place. Would love to try out the Aspen or Vail location sometime.
