I love Bastien's! I have never had a bad experience there. I usually eat in the bar. Laura was the bartender and she took very good care of me, just like Scott, Jessica, and sometimes Jeanene. I had the bone in rib eye. Ryan is the best grill master in the city in my opinion. Always a wonderful time!

The food at Bastien’s is out of this world! The bread, the salad, the sugar steak with mashed potatoes were all fantastic as was our server. The chocolate mousse for dessert was terrific too! The atmosphere is very retro and cool, very Rat Pack!

In town for Patriots-Broncos game from Chicago. Picked Bastiens randomly off of google. I’m sure glad i did. Staff was perfect and the food is legendary. I highly recommend the sugar steak. Bacon wrapped scallops are amazing and the brussel sprouts are out of this world. Enjoy people

My boyfriend and I ventured into Bastien's on a whim Saturday night. What we found was a fantastic atmosphere, great service, delicious food and a steakhouse we're excited to visit again! The bacon wrapped scallops were perfectly prepared, the raspberry salad was delicious, the sirloin with the balsamic and crispy onion accompaniment was to die for and the strawberry and cream bread pudding was a perfect finishing touch! We can't wait to go back and try new things!

First time to Bastian's last night to celebrate my friends birthday. I can only say my experience was amazing. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon with a twice baked potato and let me say that my meal was perfect. I was not disappointed. I loved the atmosphere, it was like stepping back in time and our server Rachael was wondering. Will be making a return to Bastian's soon

Went here for my birthday recently and, while the food was quite good, the service was a bit disappointing. To start with the good - the food was cooked well, and was tasty. The French onion soup had good flavor, though the cheese could have been broiled a little more. The tomato bisque was excellent. I got a 10oz New York strip cooked with sugar seasoning, and my spouse got a 16oz with southwest sugar seasoning. Both were a perfect medium rare, juicy, and tender. Sides were very tasty as well, though everything needed a pinch of salt. For the bad - our waiter let our water run out a few times, and we weren’t offered more drinks when we definitely would have taken them. Generally I felt like we were seen as an imposition instead of welcomed guests. They did send out a slice of birthday cheesecake as well as our white chocolate bread pudding, which was a nice gesture. The bread pudding was absolutely delicious, definitely recommend ordering it.

The staff and the atmosphere are awesome. Classic old school Denver vibes, but not in a false, trumped-up, gentrified way (glances at Gaetano's). The food was great. Their green chile is shickingly good and correct! French onion soup is killer. I got the Southwest Sugar Steak. I didn't care for the hard tortilla strips on top. Grilled Ceasar wasn't worth the upgrade. Everything else was fantastic. Portions of sides could be bigger and it's not cheap. Drinks are very strong! They have plenty of parking in their free lot, which I didn't realize. Parking in this neighborhood can be terrible, if not for that.

I went to Bastien's to celebrate my birthday. Our party of 9 was seated immediately, but I did call ahead and reserved a time. If you have more than four in your group, I highly recommend making a reservation. Our waiter was fantastic! Very energetic and personable. She made sure that we were taken care of and that all menu options as well as specials that were available were explained thoroughly. Several people in my party enjoyed fantastic mixed drinks and craft beers. We got the stuffed mushroom appetizer and everyone was impressed. Even the salads impressed. Those that opted for the grilled salad gave it high compliments. Our main course arrived and everyone went silent as they dug in. I think that is one of the best compliments a restaurant can receive. As it was my birthday and my sister's birthday, they brought out a slice of cheesecake for each of us. They do not make it in house and they did not say where they sourced it from but even the cheesecake received compliments. I will definitely be coming back at least once a year to enjoy the atmosphere and the fantastic food and service found here.

An institution for a reason. Generously portioned flavorful steaks. Big potatoes. Classic salads. Ice cold martinis. Great, old school service. Not cheap but also not overpriced. Bathroom by the bar felt like a David Lynch movie set. 10/10

I love the sugar steak The Gorgonzola steak was good but the Gorgonzola empowers the taste of the steak. Love the French onion soup and the grilled lettuce salad. Waiter is so fun and explained menu thoroughly. Atmosphere is nice with the yellow lights.

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it ;) this place is the best food I've eaten in the US so far. Everything tastes good. If they cooked crickets or my socks I'd trust them to make it taste amazing. If you can only go one place to eat in Denver and you like meat, don't deprive yourself, go here. (The ribeye might be the best of the steaks, but they all taste good).

Amazing food with supper club-ish vibes, I loved this restaurant! Everything we ate was incredible and the drinks were super refreshing and high quality. Pictures do not do the flavors justice. The bread pudding was delicious, the waitress told us the white chocolate sauce it comes with is actually made to order. Try the famous sugar rub for sure!

This is one of Denver's best kept secrets. You must try their sugar rub ribeye, homemade dressing on the grilled salad. If you are ever in Denver, make the time to try this place. You won't be disappointed.

Always a joy eating here. Great wine list. Wonderful staff will explain anything needed. Amazing variety of steak preparations. Easy going pace to eat your meal. Order main courses after the appetizer arrives. The openness of the dining area upstairs allows for normal level conversations.

Good steak, nice drinks. (Bastien's is my nephews go-to restaurant when he's in town.) Went their for the USMC birthday with my Marine and veteran brothers this Friday. The steaks were good, appetizers meh, drinks (old fashions) were solid. Had the sugar rubbed ribeye steak (the sugar rub is what they are known for) with the roasted Brussel sprouts. The sugar rub is always fun and worth trying out. The steak itself was average, I've had comparable at Texas Roadhouse. The Brussel sprouts were weak, they were all whole, none were cut, so you had a bunch of different sized sprouts cooked and uncooked, roasted and sales in soy sauce covered with melted cheese. Kind of lazy prep cooking for such a renowned joint. That said, the old fashions were tasty. All told,I would definitely recommend this place. Try it at least once (it is a legend), if you like it, come back. If you don't like it, don't come have. But at least you'll have it under your belt as everyone in Denver should.
