Have heard of this restaurant but first time to one. Food was very good with large portions. Service was quick.
Great place to go for comfort food. He goes twice in the past month and was great both times. Had an amazing chicken taco salad both times, took the veggie plate to-go, and last time was there during happy hour and had the market mushrooms and they were great! This last time was on a Wednesday and their cheese poblano soup was incredibly good! And of course always love the cornbread and dinner rolls.

We have always seen this place but we have never made it in till today... everyone was nice... Eddie our server was the best! Its definitely a must go in and enjoy... I should have took the pictures before but I totally forgot... thanks Eddie for your great service.. my husband said he will definitely come back. God bless...
The staff was very friendly and helped guide us through the menu and daily specials. They have us huge drink cups which was awesome. We started with rolls, cornbread, and honey and it was amazing. I got the green Chile mac and cheese it is spectacular and so full of flavor. My spouse got the meat loaf sandwich and said his was also very good. I was very pleased with out time in this establishment 😊
A little awkward in getting seated but Lily and Susie took great care of our needs.
The food was amazing!
Our waiter was VERY friendly and VERY attentive. The food met my expectations and the restrooms were VERY clean. I wish there was a location in Kansas City. I will definitely be back!
Food was amazing, waitress was sweet and just an over all cute place to eat
Dined at the bar & the bartender was awesome! She was charming & made great cocktails. The food was delicious & I will definitely visit again.
Can I just say YUM!!!! My first experience here was awesome! The staff was customer service-focused. They are fun and engaging. The food.....oh my....seriously the best I have eaten at a restaurant in a very long time! The Irsh potato dish is heavenly! The rolls....who knew there were complimentary rolls...they are light and fluffy. The potato skins.....holy smokes are they good. I'm sure the desserts are extremely delicious but I was so full from dinner, there was no room for dessert. I took my family back the next week so they could enjoy this cute place and delicious food!
Hi everyone, I have been going to Black eyed pea since I was a baby. This place holds a special part in my heart full of lots of fun memories and even sad songs. And including the wonderful tasty yummy meals. My favorite meal I used to order I usually called it “Taylor’s Traditional Meal”. Which served the best crispy chicken tenders and crispy delicious fries with an additional side of broccoli rice casserole. I have to say this place cooked the best home made dinner meals. But Sadly to say, they are closing and this place will forever be missed so thank you for a wonderful experience and your time.

This is still a nice location. The waitstaff was friendly, efficient and attentive. The wait was not long on a Sunday afternoon. The food was delicious and served hot and timely. My dad remembered the previous menu and was slightly disappointed that they no longer serve warm cornbread or ginger ale But overall, it was a pleasant meal in a comfortable atmosphere.
Great food. Stopped in for a quick lunch. Our service was excellent as well. The atmosphere was alright, just not my style is all. Stop in for some good grub if you are tired of the same old menus everyone else pushes has.
Always love this place for comfort food. Food was hot and tasty!
Our server wS AWESOME! She made us feel
Food was very good and reasonably priced. We had country fried steak & shepherds pie and both were very fresh tasting. We will definitely go back. Oh! The chocolate cake was awesome!
Having never been to a Black Eyed Pea, I am happy to report the food is fantastic, warm comfort food and the Pot Roast is truly awesome! Like my mother's. Tender, not dry and great mashed potatoes. The soups are obviously fresh and not salty which I love. They hit the home run today, Tracy and the Manager reached out to me this morning while doing a news story on Urban homelessness. I was drying out in front of their restaurant when approached by Tracy who gave me ten bucks a hot tea and a soup. Then the manager Balta invited me in for a meal. Ad I said the food is great but nothing in comparison to the kindness they showed to a homeless but undercover reporter in Cherry Creek Denver, Colorado. Look it up at Urban Camping Denver when we finish the segment. Hats off to this Southern inspired restaurant and ten stars for looking after their community. Channel news will reward them appropriately when we air this segment. Christian Taylor
I ordered the fried cod. I often order cod at various restaurants around the country. The cod at Black-eyed Pea was probably the best I've ever had. Seriously. The cod fillets themselves were of excellent quality. And then the batter was very tasty and had a perfect texture and consistency to it. The sides I got were the Mac and cheese and the red beans with rice. The portion size of the sides could have been a bit larger. They were both good, but not great, hence my 4 star rating instead of 5 stars. If the sides were both as great as the cod was, this would have been a no-doubt-about-it-whatsoever 5 star rating.
