Wow this place was amazing! The staff was so friendly. Was very clean. We went for the Saganaki (flaming cheese) and it was awesome! Fried cheese that they light on fire and extinguish with lemon. Was crispy and served with pita, soooo good. The Greek salad was phenomenal! I loved it! We also ordered the Tzatziki which was served with pita, tomatoes, cucumbers and olives. Was delicious! Also, we ordered the hummus, which was very different from the Arab restaurants we usually frequent. It was garlicky but really yummy. Also came with pita, tomatoes, olives and cucumbers. Has a cute Cafe next to it that closed at 8 and we were too late :( will try that next time.

Always massive amounts of delicious food! Never leave hungry and will want to come back for more. The Pete's Platter is a must for families or groups. Best of the Pete's restaurants. Be sure to visit the little Greek bakery next door.

Oh man, this place was so amazing! My boyfriend and I shared the Gyros Greek Style, and that was the perfect amount of food for us to share. We left stuffed, so pleased by the tasty food, and paid just under $15! We will be back to this place when we visit Denver again! So flippin' delicious!

UPDATE: NOW OUT OF BUSINESS. Original review below. ---------- Greek classic cafe on an up and coming section of East Colfax. Large portions and reasonably priced. Decor hasn't changed much in thirty years and that's OK. The grittiest of the four "Pete's" eateries in Denver. Street parking only. Greek bakery next door for sweets. My go-to stop for sit down and takeaway delicious Greek food.

We arrived from a late flight and I saw this place close by where we were staying and gyros sounded good, so we gave it a shot. When we walked in, it was as if we had walked in to a family dinner. Everyone was incredibly friendly. Dez and Dean took good care of us and hooked us up with some Greek fries which are SO good! We got a gyro sandwich which I loved! Get onions and tomatoes on it for added flavor and drown that bad boy in tzatziki sauce.

One of my favorite gyro places in the Denver area. The style and quality is much like I remember growing up in Chicago.

I’m originally from New York, so this place made me feel so at home. It’s kind of old school; it’s looks and feels a little outdated, but it REALLY works with the overall vibe. This place isn’t trying to be something that it isn’t. It feels authentic, no artificial nonsense. The food is at a great price point - ten bucks for a great tasting gyro and a pile of crispy fries. The restaurant was pretty well full when we arrived, but we were seated in less than three minutes. After we placed our order, we waited less than 10 minutes for our food, and again, it was pretty busy. The food was on point. Everything was cooked well (compliments to the chef), and it was exactly what I expected - lamb, onions, and tomato slices wrapped in a pita, with a shuffle full of fries, and white sauce on the side. My wife and I ate here, two gyro wraps and a drink for about $25 after tax, and considering the portion sizes, it was well worth it. I highly recommend stopping in if you want good food at a good price. And it’s local! Thanks, Pete. We’ll be back!

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Denver. I've been eating here for over a decade. The food is always delicious and the portions generous. I usually order the gyro plate and get 4 meals out of it with extra pita. Try the saganaki, it's delicious. The baklava is also wonderful, and a large piece.

Our family favorite dive for 25 years. The decor is almost exactly the same as is the view of Colfax from the front window. The portions are alway huge and delicious; it's some of the best Greek food I've ever had. Best of all, the prices haven't really crept up much in all these years. We don't pay attention to the menu at all, just order our favorites and enjoy!

Great food, great service, great prices. Generous portions. Always get a large portion of food, frequently take left overs home. Large selection of Greek and American foods. Parking lot behind the restaurant has been downsized considerably. Now you have to park on Colfax or Detroit.

Here on vacation stopped in to give this place a try. Humus was a bit garlicky but the entree and chicken soup was great. Owner was very attentive and nice. A waitress called out from what he said but he was right there to help make the experience smooth. Definitely give it a try.
