First trying trying Illegal Pete’s, and it was awesome! The staff were friendly, great DJ and music, plenty of seating inside and on the patio, and great drinks and food! The Apple Izze was nice and cold and the 3 steak BYO tacos I ordered was very good too. Overall, I liked it, a great must-stop Mexican restaurant in Denver!
Illegal Pete's is the best place in town to get a burrito. With a wide variety of fresh options to choose from, there's something for everyone. If you've never tried their food, now is a great time. Skip the regular burrito places and go to the best.
I needed some extra help with my catering order and spoke to Kat. She was amazing and had great customer service and very friendly. She got my order all squared away and took away all of my stress. I ordered a taco bar for my employees and of course; the food was fresh and very flavorful. My team was very happy and wanted me to order more for our next gathering. I love coming to this location. Thanks again Kat for making this happen!!! You deserve a raise!!!
We come to the South Broadway location all the time, because of the staff and food!!! I went to CU Boulder and found Illegal Pete’s there - so I have been a long, long, long supporter - lol! This is my first review, I wanted to share and thank Christian and Kat for being so amazing. A group of us came in for my birthday because the skinny and coin marg’s and taquitos (are my favorite around town)! Christian and Kat made it so special for me, and although Christian wasn’t bartending he brought out a cookie with candles and sang to me. It was kind and thoughtful, and from the heart. Thanks for making this “old” gal feel so special 🎂💗. Christian you are the best, finding a bartender with great customer service who can also make the tastiest cocktails is rare, and thank you!!! I have nothing but happy things to say about their breakfast tacos. I was once incredibly sick and ordered Pete's online and they were out of bacon, so they substituted chorizo and wrote me the sweetest note to explain --- it's the little stuff like that which sets Illegal Pete's apart from other fast-casual dining establishments and makes it our most-frequented restaurant.
Decent fast food-ish place, great for a quick meal or post hike spot. I wouldn't choose this for a date night. Great place to watch a game. Drinks are a reasonable price. Service is decent but 100% counter service.
Love Pete's! As an teacher it is really amazing that illegal petes offers BOGO teacher Tuesday every single Tuesday of the year. It is truly a kind gesture that is so appreciated by myself as well as many of my coworkers.
Food is amazing and the happy hour deals are great as well. Go Pete's!

So good! It's super delicious. There was a bit of a line when I arrived on a Saturday night, I was thinking about getting my order to go since it seemed so crowded but I saw the big beer tap so I changed my mind. I'm glad I did. The food was super delicious, my picture doesn't do it justice because I had them cover my bowl with lettuce but I got the Spanish brown rice, both typed of beans and cheese in there with warm corn tortillas on the side to make my own tacos. The bowl was great, I have enough leftover to make more tacos at home. The beans were nicely seasoned, the rice was tasty, the meat was super flavorful and tender. Seriously though the taquitos were outstanding, highly highly recommended them. They are small for the price but it's because they are hand rolled with quality ingredients and come with guac or queso, I'd get them every time!
The service is outstanding, really what sets this place apart. The builders really keep the line moving, the runner gets the food out to you as soon as it's ready and the bartender is quick to make really great suggestions. I loved the beer he suggested! He also had some insights on the brewey, which I'll also check out. Really outstanding service. Cool vibe, great for groups, families with kids, or going on your own. There's bocce ball too!
The food was amazing. The people are lively and happy. Very clean. Lots of stickers everywhere. Does get super busy and crowded by 1 or 2pm. When I travel back to Denver, Colorado I'll stop by again.
Sat at the bar that has indoor and outdoor bar seating with an outdoor patio. Great atmosphere. Fast service. Friendly staff!
I am not usually a fan of Illegal Pete’s but I am completely impressed by this location.
First off, the vibe and atmosphere of this place is absolutely on point, especially in the hot 70 degree weather. The colors pop and would’ve the perfect hangout spot for me in college. I greatly appreciate the amount of outdoor and indoor seating for Covid.
Also, I was a huge fan of the happy hour special. I found myself enjoying more of the beer since there was so many discounts and combos. The bar is amazing and perfect for the weather.
Although, I will admit, the service was a bit off. I am not a huge fan of the QR code system since it does not feature the entire menu but I understand the limitations. It was super busy when I went and it made it harder to order food. But that’s not the fault of the establishment or the staff but merely the amount of people there. I’m planning to come back when there’s less COVID :)
I've recently fell in love with illegal Pete's Baja burrito. I've been to many of there locations and this by far is my favourite. The guy who takes my order is always great and while I'm waiting to pay the girls are always sweet and friendly. The food is amazing and it's so comforting to know I always get A+++ customer service at this location. Thanks illegal Pete's for being my #1 to go spot for lunch in Denver.. 😎👍
First time at Illegal Pete’s. They’ve got a parking lot which is awesome.
I had a smothered white rice bowl. It was sooooo good and a nice big portion. My boyfriend got a burrito, but was less happy than I because his was cold for some reason.
I am for sure a margarita girlie and they had a sign saying best margs so of course I had to get one. I got their basic margarita and I could not finish it. Whatever tequila they used my tastebuds did not like. If I ever travel near an illegal Pete’s again, I’ll try their other margarita and hope for the best.
The bartender was super nice, but the workers on the food line were a little rude. Maybe they were stressed from the lunch time rush. Regardless, would totally go back.
The Colorado burrito place, unique atmosphere, nice folks, and just good quality food. My fav is just a bowl of veggie green chili, pinto beans, cheese and sour cream, I could eat it everyday! Has a nice bar, big outdoor patio, and a parking lot. If in Colorado you must go here!
Blown away by the service and by the quality for catering. We ordered and had a smooth process for everything leading up pickup. Every one was very happy with the quality, presentation and selection of the loaded nacho bar. We also had a ton of left overs. Awesome job!!!!
Great food at good prices, friendly service and free parking! A build-your-own burrito place, similar to Chipotle, but even better food and a cool, lively atmosphere, with a full bar. Burritos, tacos and bowls, among other things. I like the bowls as their less messy; they come with chips or a tortilla. Off-street parking lot. Staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of seating.
The margarita was disgustingly sour. I had one drink and couldn’t finish it. My partners peach drink was not good either. We had a show to get to or else we would have said something. As well, the salsas were a bit bland, like they needed some salt. The nachos, taquitos, and guacamole were to be expected.
Okay so we recently had our wedding welcome event here and Kat and her staff went above and beyond for us!! The food was amazing, the drinks were flowin and people were literally having the time of their lives. Kat got us a microphone and speaker for speeches and even let us bring our laptop to hookup to their TV to show a slide show. The volume wasn’t super loud and Kat and her staff literally held the microphone up to the speaker for well over ten minutes so that our party could hear the video!!! Like that alone just blew us away! The staff was so sweet and our whole wedding was obsessed. Right when we met Kat we felt like instant besties and we really just can’t say enough amazing things about her and the whole South B Pete’s staff! P.S. Kat we have your yellow hat and we’re holding it hostage so we can hang out again soon!!
