I went here with my girlfriend for our anniversary. I am so glad I picked this spot. I made a reservation and our table was immediately available. The staff did a great job taking care of us. They didn't just make sure "everything is ok" they truly wanted a special experience for us. Joe our waiter was very friendly and knew both the drink and food menu really well. The service here is so good and ambiance so nice it's not even comparable to another place in Denver/Boulder. The food was just as good and I would say a good value especially with the portions and quality. Thanks Solitare for making such a great, memorable night.

I don’t leave many reviews. It takes a special place for me to spend time on one of these to let everyone else know what I think of it. Let me say, I could not recommend a better tasting restaurant, dining/drinking atmosphere and bar environment. 6 gold stars!!! But, let’s not prostitute this place and over crowd it so I need to make 2 week out reservations and/or get a bunch of lame people to start going here and doucheing it up. No offense, but it is a real gem and it’s in everyones best interest to keep it that way. Starting to regret this review already. Oh, and it has a little old school Denver history too.

We attended a party at Solitaire July 29th. it had been a couple of years since our last visit there - the renovations that Mark and Andrea accomplished are absolutely 1st class. The bar area is extremely comfortable without being small and affords the opportunity to stroll in and out to the patio area. The staff was fantastic in terms of speed of service and friendliness! What can you say about the food? A LOT! We had multiple dishes served during the party (including the best pork belly slider I've EVER had) and every single item brought out was raved on by the partiers (I missed the pizza somehow - not sure how that happened!) The desserts were unbelievable as well - a palate-pleasing assortment of items that were so tasty! We had such a great experience we went back on Sunday AM for the brunch - amazing croissants, Eggs Benedict and Biscuits/Gravy and maybe the BEST Bloody Mary I've ever had! Amazing food, atmosphere and friends in my favorite setting in all of Colorado - well done Mark!

Truly an exceptional experience. This renovated house use to be The Highlands before a married couple bought it and renovated it to become Solitaire. Mark the owner chef use to work with Wolfgang Puck til he moved to Denver. The location is Highland Gardens on 32nd and Perry. Great bar, outdoor seating with some garden landscaping and divided rooms for restaurant service. Our waiter Tom was terrific. This is a small plate restaurant with five pages of wine and interesting cocktails. Three of us ordered 5 courses which were all shared. Two cocktails each with a bill of $182 + $40 tip. Not bad at all. It was a deliciously delightful experience.

Solitaire is a must see - everything was great! We had awesome hospitality, the drink menu was unique, the dinner and dessert was trendy and so good. The chef personally modified a dish to accommodate the food allergy. We loved the spot and we will be back for sure.

Great tasting food, great environment, great service (very well informed and knowledgeable). Bar looks like a cool underground bar from LA called No Vacancy (Real place). However sizes and price of the food is expensive. For the quality of the food it isn't too far fetched. Any great "foodie" place you'd find in LA or NYC you'd fine similar prices. Someone mentioned below but worth expressing again. When asking for some bread the say "we offer bread and olives as a menu item" = a high price for four slices of bread. This restaurant needs to give something more to make it worth going back. Would have given a lower score but due to their welcoming nature to our kids (toy Rubik's cube to play with and kids cups for drinks) and great service saved them from a three star rating. Looking to impress a date or grab a small bite and drink after dinner then this place is for you.

Want to escape the fun but everyday feel of the Highlands? Go to Solitaire. You'll feel like you're in a high-end, relaxed restaurant in Europe at a very affordable price. The cocktails were perfectly mixed and the food was incredible. I highly recommend the Calamari Steak Parmigiana and the Seared Salmon - seriously amazing meals. Go on Wednesdays for "all night happy hour" and be sure to sit on the lovely back patio when the weather allows.

I thought everything about the place was awesome. Food, drinks, service, atmosphere. Call me crazy, but I say they have the best burger in Denver. Yeah I was pretty buzzed, and maybe it was the delicious grease keeping me from dying in a gutter from alcohol poisoning..... but I remember that burger being AMAZING. I'm going back.

Went there with my wife last night. We did 6 courses of the small plates and decided to let the chef choose - something we always do with a multi course meal, because really, who's the one that knows what will be best? This is also a great way to go because it tells the chef we're ready for anything he might be dying to try. The first course was an amazing quail egg and oyster combo. It was one of the best oysters I've ever had, and the quail egg part of it was probably one of the most delicious things I've ever put in my mouth. Every dish that came out was inventive and absolutely delectable. I can't remember our server's name but it started with a Z (Zane?) and he was very friendly, informative about each dish, a great people person and definitely earned the full 20% tip. Yes it was pricey but you get what you pay for. The building itself was very cool. You don't have to take my word for it, just look at the photos. If I had any gripe at all it would be that at some multi course meals we've had at other restaurants we were able to each get different things. For example I could choose vegetarian and my wife could choose non veg. Or I'll choose beef and she chooses seafood, and our plates come out based on those choices, which is great because then we both get to try 2 things. But there are upsides to each of us having the same experience as well. Other than that 5 stars. Fantastic.

Great brunch option. Lots of seating so there wasn't a wait for breakfast. The butterscotch pancakes are divine and are a must. Worth sharing as an appetizer. The table side mimosa seemed overpriced for what you get. The bloody however was excellent! Didn't sit outside but weather permitting they have a nice outdoor area.

Very hip remodel of 2 Victorian houses! Small plates are great because you can't choose just one! Incredible combination of flavors! Warm and friendly service! My new favorite restaurant! Don't miss it!

First time here, I had no idea what to expect and I was thrilled. The Tempranillo - their $5 House red - is exquisite!! As is their tuna poke. So incredible with the seaweed salad in there and those crisps. We were there for my friend’s bday celebration, so I ordered her The Butterscotch Pancake Roll (ok I really wanted it all for me!!) with a candle. It was deeeelicious, sweet and so perfect with the maple ice cream. She loved the smoked bacon rolled up inside. Our waiter, Tom, was friendly, calm and attentive. I got there with only a minute of happy hour remaining and he kindly allowed me to order two glasses of wine at the reduced price. The only negative was the hostess at the front door who just stood there at her podium and said nothing when I entered. Or when I explained I was here to meet up with my group of friends. I’m not entirely sure why she’s there.

FINALLY really good food, the type that you go "wow, this really tastes great!" as you take the fork out of your mouth. Pricey, yes, but totally worth it. I am so tired of these "trendy" restaurants being way overpriced for the, essentially, mediocre food. Great location and I am excited to go back! Everything I had was superb. Salad, cod fish, and dessert.
