Loved we had a Great server I love Mexico City one of my favs . The best refried Besns Ever ♥️ And of coarse the steak Taco 😍
Absolutely hands down the best chicken tacos Ever!!! Every time im in town I stop in to have my order and always one to go. And another order before I leave town. Love the staff to pieces theyve always welcomed me as one of their own family no matter how long I've been gone. And can't say enough about the owners! Great people! Great family! Love them to pieces. Keep up the great work David n staff! Love ya Always! Annette aka ADOG!
I have to hit this place every time I head to Denver. It's a must try. The tacos and menudo are the best... Two thumps up...
Crispy Chili Relleno are my favorite. I get the sauce on the side and eat them like finger food.
Have been going there for almost 40 years. I have never had a bad taco! Best in Denver by a long shot (in my opinion). Bob and his son David do a fantastic job running this place! Thank you! We'll see ya in couple weeks.
This is the best taco joint in Colorado, hands down. Do the steak, and the infused tequila,,,, im glad its downtown because if it was closer to me i would probably be 500lbs.
Great food! Great service! Cheap beer! Will
Go back again and again!
Best fried tacos, salsa and margaritas ... love this place! Great lunch spot during the week and even better for Sunday Funday!!
Best Mexican place that I've been to in all of the Denver metro area. Their prices are higher than other Mexican places, but justifiably so because of their location on Larimer Street. Best customer service that I've had in a long time and very good food!
Tacos are hella good specially the steak tacos, but the smothered beef burritos are the best in denver closely followed by El Toro's
Steak tacos to die for. Now keep in mind they are juicy and greasy as they are served hot. A slice of avocado, lettuce, tomato, cheese and chunks of steak. Top it with sauce. Get a pitcher of beer and the tacos before you go to the Rockies game - you'll save money because you won't need to eat at the game.
As I get older so does my definition "old school", but the other day I was flipping through radio stations in my car and heard a disc jockey mention something about playing an "old school jam" so I paused, wondering what nostalgic area of my brain would light up. Then on came some whiny Sublime song from the late 90s and I cringed. This wasn't old school. I suppose it is the day and age when people will call the 90's old school, but old school is also a state of being. For example, "Wham", even though they made music in the 80s, is not old school. KRS-One, on the other hand, is undoubtedly old school. So are the Blackbyrds singing Rock Creek Park . The '85 Bears on Tecmo Bowl . Nolan Ryan in the 80's Astro's uniform. Reading Rainbow? Does it get more old school than Reading Rainbow? Mexico City Restaurant and Lounge at 2115 Larimer St is old school. Not just because it has been open for over 40 years, but also because as LoDo has gone from run-down to over-run with hipsters and yuppies
Dive bar vibe inside but friendly staff and decent happy hour. They have an open window for to go drinks which is unique. First time having deep fried taco shells and it was delish. It's crunchy without having to worry about it disintegrating after a bite. Salsa was also very fresh and well balanced. Chips were okay. The margaritas were a great deal. Only tried the house ones during happy hour and they weren't bad.
Pretty good! I like the fried tacos, kinda like a regular crispy taco though. Not anything crazy.
But it was yummy! Happy hour margs were great too, the bartender was happy to add some jalapeño to mine, thank you!
The chips, salsa, guac boat was good- but the guac was kinda just mashed up avo, no seasoning or pico in it.
I’m a Texas native, so Mexican food is near & dear to my heart.
I’d come back! It was good!
The best tacos in town…don’t tell anyone. No menu required; just sit down, get a shot and beer and say “three steak”. You will be rewarded. Make sure to get the special sauce from the fridge
Outstanding!!!!! My new favorite place, their fried tacos are out of this world, service is extremely good, atmosphere is awesome, not 1 complaint or criticism that I can think of, they open at 11am, but get there a little early, because people line up outside, because they kno how good this place is
I had a great experience here after the Rockies game on Saturday afternoon. Place was busy but the host was awesome and found us a spot at a shareable table. Waiter was awesome. Really nice young man and was really helpful. My friend got the menudo he loved it I couldn't Edge him out of the way to take a picture of it sorry. He was on that thing like it was the last bowl on the planet. When I asked him how it was, he replied with a grunt that I took to mean excellent.
I went with the fried steak tacos. They were absolutely delicious. Super crispy. That secret taco sauce was banging! I could have drank that stuff. I also got a bowl of elote. It was fantastic as well. Nice and smoky flavor and very savory with the grandma and the cheese. Was very very happy with it. Prices were more than fair. Service was awesome. Atmosphere laid back in casual but inviting and friendly. I will be back.
Great quality food! What really impressed me was the combination of quality and speed. We had a group of 20 and they sat us down immediately, we ordered, ate, paid and left within an hour wishing we had ordered more just because it was delicious. On top of it all, nobody spent more than $20.

I asked Dave the Grand son of the founder to choose my dinner for me. As the plate was circling in front of me and I ate every bite with everyone becoming more and more glamorous in my mouth I had to do what was best for myself. Dave I'd like one more tequila and your food is delicious. Thanks Dave!
Being Mexican born and raised you know when the dishes taste like Mexico. This is one of the few places in the Denver area that really tastes like Mexico. Service is great and atmosphere is definitely also very authentic. Could be a restaurant at any city of northern Mexico
We had a few margaritas (the spicy pineapple is AwEsOmE) and both tried the fried tacos. So glad we stopped by! Bartender was cool and we had a great time hanging out at the bar.
Best street tacos I've ever had. I only wish they would do pork more often. Service was great!
Good service, ordered online and was ready before I got there. Mexico City has always been a staple of Denver! Everything changes eventually, still a great place to eat anytime
Absolutely Amazing across the board. First off the food itself was everything I remembered back when I was a kid 30yrs ago. My hubby was a first-time customer and he was impressed with everything from the taste of the food to the price! Would recommend in a heartbeat of you want a great meal in a low key environment !♡$😋
