Great stay here. The rooms were spacious and we were super happy with the room for the price. The gym is great as they have some free weights, Pelton, and treadmills. They had some nice touches with free coffee in the morning, water all day, and milk and cookies after dinner available in the lobby.
Parking here isn't bad as there are many options. Valet overnight I believe was around $50, while there were other garages around for self parking for slightly less.
I stayed here for a work conference and I was pleasantly surprised at how close it was to restaurants and shops. The customer service was good. They put me on the 12th floor and the view was beautiful and the bed was comfortable. There were a few downsides - my room didn’t get cleaned, I had to call down to the desk to get it cleaned one day & the elevators are old and didn’t always register so I had to take the stairs down a couple of times. I asked a worker where I could fill my ice bucket and he took it and never came back…? It was suspicious? I loved walking into the lobby and always being able to get a delicious ice cold water and every night they put out milk & warm cookies at 8pm. For a trip to Denver, this was a great hub to explore downtown. Also, it was a great venue for a conference!
Had an incredible stay here at the Magnolia. The king sized bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced, I slept like a baby. Hotel staff went above and beyond to be kind and accommodating and helped make a celebration weekend so memorable and special!
The lobby coffee in the morning and milk/cookies in the evening are also very nice touches. The cherry on top is they are also pet friendly with no added fees. Almost too good to be true. I will certainly be coming back!
Nice hotel and very clean/modern. It is located in the heart of downtown Denver near the 16th street mall. Be aware parking is $20 a night to park yourself in the garage or $50+ a night for valet. Many things to do nearby. We did not eat there so I can't comment on the food or drink. Bar and restaurant on site.
Nice hotel, a mix of vintage and contemporary vibes. Older building so the room felt a bit off level. Bar is nice, service was nice overall, great location. I would stay again.
I booked this hotel through a 3rd party website for a conference I was attending, so I chose it solely off the price and location. Overall, my stay was really great. I arrived late on a Friday (almost midnight) and had a hard time finding the entrance. You have to walk through the valet area, and it’s not my natural reaction to walk down a drive where car traffic might be. After that, check in was fast and the staff where very friendly and helpful.
The room was small but clean and well equipped. My room had an iron, coffee maker, safe, small fridge, and large TV. The one thing I would have loved was a microwave, but there was clearly no room for one. Bathroom appeared to have been recently redone with a beautiful shower and vanity. The light was low in the room and bathroom. I also had a VERY small window, probably 1 foot wide, but very tall. It looked out to the valet area so I got no sunlight. King size bed was very comfortable and I slept really well.
On the negative side (and the reason for 4 stars, not 5) - first, the toilet. It would abruptly start running and was very loud when I did so. This is an old building and I presume the plumbing is as well. My assumption is that it happened when others flushed their toilets. Simply closing the bathroom door at night kept it from waking me up. In my room the bathroom door was a pocket door (again, small room, it was what worked for the room design). It didn’t close well which wasn’t a concern since I was by myself, but would have been a drawback had I been with another person and wanted privacy in the bathroom. Second was that I must have been on the other side of the wall from the laundry room because I could hear washing machines starting at 7am every day and also heard them around 10pm one night. Last is that I could not find a stairwell to use. I was on the first floor (right above lobby level) and it felt silly to use the elevator every time I needed to go up and down.
I saw other reviews mentioned negatives about elevators. They are quite old, but 2 of the 3 were running when I was there and I never had to wait more than 2 min for one, which I found acceptable.
Also, cookies and milk every night in the lobby were a lovely touch!
Overall great stay and I would recommend if you go in with the expectations that this is an old building and there will be small quirks because of that.
The downtown location is great, good price, and the rooms are clean. However, the windows do not open (in case you want fresh air) and only one of the three elevators worked during our stay.
Excellent stay! I'll admit that I was apprehensive about staying here because of the negative reviews. We were, however, pleasantly surprised to not experience almost anything those reviews referred to. Our room was clean, modern and very comfortable. Some reviews mention the age of the hotel as a negative, but we found it to be the perfect mix of modern amenities (updated bathroom, fast wifi, comfortable beds, etc) while also honoring its historical roots (old murals, courtesy phones, wall coverings and decor). The one slight negative was only one working elevator at times which caused a delay (about 5-10 minutes) during busy parts of the day such as check-in time. The owner, however, has explained that they are replacing the elevators and the small inconvenience would not prevent us from staying here again. We highly recommend The Magnolia!
The Magnolia is a beautiful hotel, smack dab in the middle of Downtown Denver, just one block off 16th Street Mall. We stayed here for just over a week in November and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!
Rayna is a wonderful front desk agent whom was sure to provide top-notch service at every interaction, even kept a big, bright smile on her face while seeming to ‘fight fires’ all evening long. We had a small problem on the second-to-last night of our stay, but a quick call to Reyna ended with an exemplary solution in a matter of minutes.
Now, to breakfasts with Emily. Emily, Emily, Emily…you’ve been the brightest start to every morning we’ve shared here together. Thank you for keeping the Bloody’s Spicy, the Mimosas Bubbly and the atmosphere out of this world for our breakfasts!
5-stars all around, y’all!
It’s a nice hotel, don’t get me wrong. I can’t quite put my finger on it but the vibe is a bit off for me. I think primarily, it’s the lighting and as a person with vision issues, it made it difficult for me to be comfortable. I know it’s an old building so installing better lighting would have been expensive and difficult but if they had at least put a mix of bright and warm bulbs in the room, it would have helped a lot. There were a lot of lamps, but they were all dim, even the bathroom. I couldn’t see to put on my make up. They have a close up mirror in the bathroom, but one with a light would have been so nice!
The desk staff was really kind and positive. The decor is nice. I love the old PO Boxes on the wall in the lobby. The location is great. It’s very clean, and that’s what matters most. Would I stay again, yes. But it wouldn’t be my first choice.
