Stopped by this restaurant along 20th Street for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by the renovations inside. I heard that the previous and historic iteration had been closed for a few years, but just discovered that it had reopened earlier this year. Good selection of food items on the menu, esp. if you like Mexican cuisine. Smothered breakfast burrito is delicious and cooked in generous portions. Friendly, attentive service as well. Plenty of seating at tables or counter. Parking is on-street with meters, as there is no dedicated lot for the restaurant. Recommended!

Came here in desperate need of a hangover / Mexican home cooked meal. I’m so glad I came here - everything was delicious and freshly made. Super authentic and in huge portions. Highly recommend! :)

Really glad new owners re-opened this historic spot. That they added a Mexican flair to it makes it even better. Amiable and welcoming staff and excellent diner and Mexican food. Steak and eggs with homemade tortillas, potatoes, and legitimate green chili is a steal for under a 20 spot. 🙌

This is the place to go for delicious, Mexican food. I ordered the smothered burrito and it did not disappoint. I will be coming back here every time I visit Denver.

Best breakfast burritos I have ever had in Denver and they are dirt cheap! The staff are incredibly kind people as well! I go three times a week.

I have eaten here at least 4 times now and each time I've gone in to order my food I'm always graded with a smile and a very friendly hello. This place has the best food I have ever had that's in walking distance from my apartment and the price is not that bad either and I'm on a budget and I can go here at least twice a month and enjoy great food and awesome people.

Some of the best tacos I've ever had, great beef flavor and great shells and generous amounts of tomatoes/cheese/lettuce, staff is always super friendly and nice and quick with my order. If you need some simple yet amazing tacos go here.

I moved to the neighborhood when the pandemic hit, and 20th Street Mexican Cafe has been closed for several years. Today was the first time I stopped by for breakfast. I was greeted by the staff and took a seat wherever I wanted. I had ordered the 20th Street special with chorizo, scrambled eggs, and a flour tortilla. The food came out quickly and was hot. Everything tasted delicious. The portions were perfect! The coffee was perfect as well! I even got a coffee to go! Service was excellent! I am looking forward to the next time I stop by and try a different item from the menu. This is definitely a hidden gem in Denver that everyone should check out.

You wouldn't guess by the outside look of the place, but the inside is really new and renovated. It's clean and the food is good. Prices are very reasonable. Good Coffee to.
