I've been finding these in every major city I visit. I like their rewards system and it was extremely easy for me to build up points--especially with bringing my friends here. If your friends aren't members you can still scan their receipts for points. We did the lunch special this time around. You can do 2 or 3 proteins which come with miso soup, a salad, and white rice for $13-$17 per person. It didn't sound like a lot at the time, especially because I normally do all-you-can-eat, but there was plenty of food! Our server was amazing and explained things to our first-timer while I looked at the happy hour drink specials. I normally get a cocktail but beer goes best with barbequed meats if I'm to be honest. All of the meats were marinated splendidly. I love their 3 dipping sauces on every table though I'm partial to the spicy one--which just has a slight kick. The rice had a good texture and was hot. You can also upgrade your white rice for a price. The person that came with me upgraded to a beef fried rice bowl. The fire on our grill went out a few times due to the wind from the back door. We came while deliveries were being made so they had to prop the door open. It was not an issue at all because our server was extremely attentive, yet did not hover. Everything was great here! I highly recommend you give them a try during happy hour if you're a first-timer. They weren't busy and were able to give full attention. Plus, the prices are way better. I'm really glad that I'm able to recommend another Gyu-Kaku location!

Super fun concept and strong cocktails. Looked at the pre planned options, and decided before hand what we wouldn’t want and what we could add. Came with a plan of which foods we wanted and ended up paying the same amount if we chose the pre planned deal. Ate everything. Very yummy.

Shout out to Tim who was a tremendous server. Contagious smile! Tried as much meat as I could but will need to come back to try the rest. Quality meat, clean, attentive service, and the Tokyo Iced Tea with Sake made it all worth it. Left with ice cream vanilla/green mixed. Satisfied!

I would give five out of five, but they were out of the A5 Wagyu, and that was the main reason for coming in. But price for what you eat is untouchable. The Food and staff are top-notch. Don’t forget to get s’mores for dessert.

Great first time trying Japanese BBQ!! We did the $45 all you can eat on Wednesday. Food was delicious! My only feedback is service could of been better, waters were always empty even when the servers said they would be back with more water. The server mentioned they were under staffed so I totally understand which is why I am not leaving any stars off from this 5 star review. Staff is not something that can always be controlled in these times of covid era. Besides that I would absolutely come back!

Japanese Barbecue, I had not really thought of that food genre until I very innocently decided to have a meal at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ in Denver. Why not, you ask? Well, I don't really think of Japanese barbecue considering there',s so much American barbecue around. But my first impression with this wonderful genre was quite good. We arrived about 10 minutes early to make sure that we met our reservation time. After 5ish minutes of wait in the foyer we got our table. I noticed immediately that there was a little grill built into the table. Ooooo, so we cook to our own liking, nice!!!! The seating host seemed a little stern, not angry mind you, but like he was stressed and then I realized, "hey, it's Thanksgiving, this guy probably doesn't want to work and it's probably a hectic day already". Fair enough I wanted to give this place every benefit of the doubt I could, go easy on the guy when he has to work on a holiday. After perusing the menu a little I found that it was quite the meatatarian delight, if you're vegan/vegetarian you have some option but lets be clear, their main food here is MEAT!!! And lot's of it. At least 10 different cuts of beef, chicken, pork and some really lovely appetizers including octopus takoyaki which my daughter absolutely loves (definitely not my thing). There were all kinds of choices as to the amounts of food you could choose, mixtures of several different types of beef starting at $32.00 per person and going all the way up to over one hundred dollars per person. Of course they had the most amazing Japanese beef on the menu, the wagu beef, we chose a slightly less modest beef and it was delicious. There was a whole page of appetizers of all types from potstickers to sushi and it was all quite lovely to look at with pictures and great descriptions of the food. If you're not up on Japanse cuisine this was a HUGE help in deciding what you might want to eat. Our server was very pleasant and helpful young lady especially since we'd not experienced this type of dining before, she explained the menu, she got our grill hot and ready to cook and she was smiling and cheerful the whole time, what a great addition to our meal to have a server that obviously liked what she was doing. We ordered our food and it was only about 5ish minutes before things started arriving. We had a miso soup, which I'm not normally thrilled with but it was tasty and got the meal started. Almost perfectly to the minute when I finished my soup the meats and prepped sides started arriving. We had this lovely deep fried and battered chicken appetizer with an amazing sauce of what was obviously mustard, wasabi, mayo and possibly sour cream, it was delightful delicious and balanced well. The presentations overall of the whole meal was good, and just what you'd expect from a good restaurant. Each meat had been marinated in a different sauce and we plopped them on the grill in front of us. They even have a chart as to how long to cook everything depending upon if you like rare, medium, or well done. At least 7 plates of different meats showed up and each were of great quality. As we ate they brought us an interesting "sushi", on a rice pile, of roast beef and it was tender and delicious. The table housed 3 different types of soy, a tangy lemonish style, a sweet style, and a hot style that had a lovely ginger kick to it. They all added a large dimension of flavour to the food. It was all so good and at the end we were given a smore, yes that's correct, a smore, which we grilled on the flames and ate with satisfaction. I had a house saki which was hot. The menu housed some more fancy saki's that are cold but I was very sastified with the hot and it paired with the meal in an excellent way. For a chain restaurant it's in the top 10 that I've ever tried. Excellent food, lovely service, our final bill with tip was about $135.00 and for this meal, well worth it. Why 4 stars? It was great, it wasn't outstanding or the best I've had in a chain restaurant. Definitely worth it though.

Very nice dining experience in downtown Denver. Delicious cuts of meat and sides all ready to be grilled to your liking. Extensive menu and options for every setting. We went with the Meat lovers option and was not disappointed. Doesn't look like much food but we were struggling to finish. Highly recommended. The reservation system could use some work, we had to wait over an hour after we were told it would only be a 30 minute wait. Other then that, excellent restaurant.

The staff here is so friendly! I was promptly greeted by my host sylvia with a kind an warm smile she then set me up with a table and a menu. Helping me navagate it by explaining where everything located before I was promptly attended by my server. The food came out shortly after overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely return again!

Expensive, but you absolutely get your money's worth! Neat little place with your own table grills. We ordered the $65 AYCE option and ate to our hearts content. Good service, high quality ingredients and good flavors.

Went here for my brother’s 30th birthday and had a great time! Tim was our server and at the end of the night, he became our friend! A very unique and fun dining experience with a wide variety of options!! So many good drinks as well! Their happy hour is also 12:00pm-6:30pm daily which is awesome! Highly recommend Gyu-Kaku to anyone who enjoys Japanese food with a twist! Can’t wait for our next visit :)

Gyu-Kaku was an amazing experience. I have gone to a number of Korean BBQ places over the years and have always wanted to go to a Japanese themed one. I went for my birthday and it was an amazing trip. The food prices are pretty reasonable but can still be pretty high for an every day meal out. Definitely a great place for celebrations or just wanting to take friends to on occasion. I did not tell anyone I was there for my birthday but the staff were extremely helpful and excellent through the process. I would love to come back again.

This place is AMAZING! I've never been to a Japanese bbq before but this was easily the best restaurant I have been to all year. They bring you the meat and you get to cook it to your desired tenderness, and oh my gosh was the food fantastic.

We had such a wonderful experience, especially with our server Alex! The AYCE is absolutely superb and the meat is really high quality! We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a sweet birthday treat with candles! It was one of the most thoughtful sentiment and we can’t wait to return again!
