Smothered burrito did not disappoint. The asada was delicious. Not a lot of room inside the restaurant, which is pretty utilitarian. Honestly, that just makes it feel like comfortable and unpretentious. Definitely top five Denver burrito for sure.
We've eaten here a few times - the food & drinks are consistently delicious! I also love the variety on the menu.
They specialize in carnitas btw!
The breakfast burritos here are off the chain good! Nice homemade, thick tortillas and excellent hot sauce makes this place my new favorite. The drive through doesn't have a menu and they don't offer much up beyond 'how can I help you', so you better know what you want. Food was ready quickly. Must try!
My meatball soup was amazing. My husband had the smothered breakfast burrito and it was huge. He really liked the flavor too. Bryan our waiter was very nice and attentive. Definetly recommend.
First timers. My wife and were looking for some food along Feds. Sunday before a Broncos game and decided to check it out. Blown away. Great food. Great service. Authentic food and giant portions. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. We will definitely be back.
This place is no good for me! I'm there twice a week. Their food is always amazing and delicious. I always get the carnitas burrito with the avocado salsa and a flan. Best flan I've ever tasted! The staff are super nice too.
Pretty good food usually satisfied with the carnitas burrito, has a good selection of Mexican food. Today the food was salty but it’s wasn’t enough to make me not want to go here anymore. The green salsa in the picture is pretty hot that’s exactly how I like it.
I love this place so much. The service is great. The food is AUTHENTIC (and amazing). I've been here 47 times and there was never a bad experience. This is probably one of the best hidden gems here in Denver. I love the Steak Burritos (with crunchy Chicarone) and the price is so affordable.
The carnitas lived up to the “best” claim stated on the menu. Service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Burro Loco with carnitas, and ate every bite. My wife ordered alambre al pastor and my mother in law ordered the Chile relleno crispy. Everything was so delicious. Will be coming back and recommending this spot to my friends! Definitely don’t sleep on El Zarape.
Amazing food with friendly employees! Looks a bit sketchy on the outside but it's some of the best Mexican food around.
I like El Zarape, I really do. But there were some baby things I didn't like. Like when I looked at the menu and ordered a la carta, the crispy chile relleno. On the menu, the price is $3.50 but it rang up as $4.50 plus tax on the register (I also ordered beans and rice). So if it's actually $4.50, please make the menu's reflect the same price. Also I was expecting my chile rellenos to be crispy but when I got home and opened the box, I saw that my rellenos were smothered in sauce so they were soggy instead of crispy. I didn't ask for smothered rellenos or even knew that they came smothered so I was kind of sad. They could've put the sauce on the side to give you the option to smother or not. I mean it was still good but not what I asked for. I'll give them another try and specify my order next time
Great breakfast burritos! Eggs, potatoes, green chili, and the meat of your choice inside a nice homemade tortilla at a reasonable price. What else could you want?
Amazing food, amazing prices. The food here seemed really down to earth and authentic. There were lots of folks doing take out and drive thru. It's definitely popular with locals. Would eat here again in a heartbeat.
Best burrito in Denver, period! The staff is always friendly and amazing! AND THEY HAVE A DRIVE THROUGH WINDOW!
Delicious! Very yummy authentic Mexican food except for the tortillas, it was all perfect. Very friendly staff
