I stopped in here randomly on Black Friday during a snowstorm. The cafe is adorable, the music is perfect, and the atmosphere was top notch. The owner Casey made the best breakfast beverages, suggested the DELICIOUS Cajun Collared Greens Benedict and was incredibly welcoming in conversation. If you’re looking for a family owned restaurant with an awesome vibe and great food, GO HERE.
This place is a gem! We met the owner and he is super nice and down to earth! He recommended the Cajun Collard Green Benedict and I am so happy I got it! It was delicious and very unique! You will not be disappointed with this dish! I’ll be dreaming of the next time I can eat that dish! Also had the pancakes and it’s like eating the Fall season on a plate yum!
You have to try those cinnamon rolls with the neverending cup of Jo☺️ They take any food allergy very seriously. Loved the pumpkin martini 🍸All 7 of us had a wonderful experience. Mandy was quite the host We will be "REGULARS"❣️
What an amazing building/atmosphere. Whoever thought up this place has some real class.
The food was on point taste wise, though there were a few things that could be improved on such as cooking the hash browns longer till they’re golden and the overcooked poached eggs as the center of mine were hard apposed to runny/soft.
I’ll definitely give this place another shot as the atmosphere and finishing a down to the plates and coffee cups were on point in my opinion.
Wendell's is the best breakfast I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I live in California and stumbled upon this restaurant a couple years ago. The food was so magnificent that I planned a trip back to Colorado and ate breakfast at Wendell's both days I was here. I cannot compliment this place enough! Casey, the owner and waitress is a champion at balancing all of the tables and keeping the service fast and personal. I would eat here every day if I could.
Rented Wendell’s out for a private family event & it was AMAZING! Really delightful team to work with & they had great ideas on menu. Many guests commented on how yummy the food was. Drinks & cocktails were exactly on point.
This place is so much nicer than just getting a back room in a monstrous restaurant or cold hotel ballroom. Outdoor space was great for people to escape noise inside and as the evening weather got nice. I also really appreciated how accessible the place is for wheelchairs & elderly family.
Reserve this place out for your next party - you won’t be disappointed!!
We really loved breakfast here. Food is prepare by pros. Not sure there are many places that make a perfect egg. Familiar diner menu but so much better. I'm craving going back to try other things. Bloody mary was excellent. Service was great even tho they seemed to be short staffed. There is no parking... And wait was almost too long. There are no prices for menu items which is weird. They need prices if they want to expand. Which I'm guessing they will expand bc the food is amazing. Their food is better than Snooze. (And we love Snooze.)
I won’t give it 5 stars because the service was really slow. They were super under-staffed, basically one waitress running the whole place (bar, inside, patio) and the poor thing seemed exasperated. They need to hire more people or plan their schedule better.
However, great vegan and gluten free options and the breakfast poutine was so, so good. Also, I recommend the “breakfast shots”. They sound disgusting but they tasted so good!
The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant, if you’re looking for a spot on Tennyson that isn’t overwhelming and loud and obnoxious - and has awesome menu variety for breakfasts and lunch - this is the jam.
I love the outdoor seating, it’s comfortable, quiet, and decorated very nicely with plants and vines and flowers. It’s hard to find location-wise, in a precarious spot, but it’s no hole in the wall… their food is absolutely dynamite. Very flavorful and high quality ingredients and recipes. And their servers match that as well. Very attentive and vibrant humans working here!
Cajun Collard Greens Benedict and Breakfast Poutine would be my go-to recommendations! They’re perfectly balanced flavors if you’re in the mood for savory breakfast food.
Amazing, and the couple who owns it is the best. The gluten free poutine is so good 🥲 gluten free gravy is such a rare win for me, and this one is top notch! The eggs were so fluffy I cannot explain it but it was incredible
Did brisket poutine. Overall good. Hash could be cooked little longer but great to have fried cheese curds as part of it. Will be back to try more
The cool location and the food were great. The pancakes are so yummy with a great texture and they have real syrup! There are no prices on the menu, so you don't know how much you're spending until you get the check.
My family and I absolutely LOVE this place! We make a point to stop here whenever we go to Denver. Even if it's an hour out of our way, we HAVE to go! Best Gluten Free options by far! The staff is awesome, the atmosphere is rockin', the libations are on point! We only wish they lived closer to us!! Will not ever miss a chance to stop by and have the greatest food EVER! Until next time Wendells - WE LOVE YOU
The California Benedict was delicious! Lots of gluten free options here including gf pancakes and waffles. This place would probably benefit from removing the tree branch entirely covering their sign though. You’d never know it existed unless someone told you about it.
Sitting at a local dinner back home, can’t stop thinking about this places pancakes, hash browns and how great Casey was in serving us. At a complete loss for these last few negative reviews. This place is an absolute gem! Great latte, atmosphere and hospitality! Thanks again Casey!
Kory and Josiah took the best care while dining.. service was unbelievable and the food and wine were right there as well! exstensive wine list. lol ask for the Jason Cab. enjoy by the water and mountain view.. The music accompaniment was i great taste.. very relaxing atmosphere. Ask for Kory as she is probably the best waitress ever and let Josiah be your tour guide!
