Busy little breakfast spot. Came in on a recommendation. The homemade bread makes for excellent french toast. Home fries were nice a crispy 😊. Will be back again, because there is so much on the menu I still want to try.
Visited for early morning breakfast. The place is small and cozy with many options to choose from menu. We had banana and walnut multigrain pancake and overhard eggs with whole wheat bread and homefries. The portions are large. The food was delicious and fresh.
I’ve lived in New Jersey for over a year and found this GEM en route to the Poconos and I am so glad I did. Any place with a “Bread of the Week” is worth checking out.
Amazing food, had Northwest Omelette (onions peppers bacon and Swiss) wife ordered cheddar avocado and chicken omelette and my little one ordered French toast.
Amazing service, will definitely be coming back.
Was here for the first time and loved it! It's an old-school home cooked breakfast using fresh ingredients... like an old luncheonette from the 60s. Food was great, coffee was great, the servers were great. But don't expect a quick breakfast... it took a long time to get our food. But it was a busy Sunday morning and, as I said, the food is fresh and homemade (even the homemade bread) so WELL worth the wait. I highly recommend this place!!
Great service, we sat at the small front counter And didn't wait for a table. The Taylor ham, egg and cheese and a fresh baked hard roll was a great Jersey blast from the past!
Highly recommend!
Carver's is a little gem of a restaurant and easily our favorite breakfast place! Scratch-made diner classics, and incredible specials. They also bake all of their own breads that you can get as toast with your breakfast, or as a whole loaf to-go. Space fills up fast, so be prepared to wait if you're not there early!
As a first time customer, I HIGHLY recommend the Avocado Omelet. I ate here with my wife and mama. Our sever Christa (aka Jessie J.) was absolutely amazing. Polite, funny, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we were all seated comfortably. It's a bit of a tight squeeze, so the smaller your party, the better. The couple next to us waited almost an hour for a seat, and raved on about how great the food is. He was right. We will definitely revisit Carver's on our travels between NY and PA. Take a bow Denville!
It's really nice when you ask for your eggs to be well done & your bacon to be extra crispy and they come out correct.
It was also a nice to hear people talking to each other instead of being on their phones.
The food was excellent & looking forward to trying the home made cinnamon raisin bread.
Will definitely be back when we are in the area!
The food was great. The service was wonderful. The people are very nice and make you feel comfortable. Great place for breakfast.
My mother lives nearby and raves about Carver's so it was our first choice for pancakes this morning. The interior is small but very cozy, and they were pretty busy, service moving very efficiently. There was so many delicious sounding specials that it was hard to choose, but I went with a goat cheese omelette with mushrooms, spinach, and sundried tomatoes, while my mom had pancakes and Taylor ham. My omelette was loaded with toppings and the pancakes were enormous. Everything was absolutely incredible, and the wait staff was so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back for more!
Located in the heart of downtown Denville, Carvers is a great spot for breakfast that you can find it on 1st Street between Diamond Spring Road and Broadway.
My visit to Carver's was on a Saturday morning around 9:30. I'm guessing my timing was perfect in that there was one other party in front of us with a wait of about 10-15 minutes. After we arrived, the crowds picked up as there were more people waiting to get in. While lines are often annoying, usually when it comes to waiting for food, it is a good sign the food is going to be great so you overlook the lines.
Whenever I'm going out for breakfast, one of my key criterias is how quick I get my cop of coffee and Carvers gets an A +. The menu had many options making it difficult to choose. I picked the Chorizo Portuguese Sausage & Eggs (diced chorizo scrambled together with eggs and served with seasoned home fries and choice of homemade toast.) Also served was the French toast and Bacon. Meals were served hot and fresh and there was more than enough food to keep us powered though the day. Our coffee was topped off during out meal which always brings a high score in my book.
A huge thanks to the entire staff who teamwork made for a great meal and all those who mentioned Carver's. For those who keep putting off this visit, you are missing out and need to pay them that long overdue visit.
Needed something quick and filling, they did not disappoint. Waitresses all worked together and were genuinely smiling and very attentive to customers. Hometown feel and food, grabbed 2 slices of pie for the road, they were delicious 😋
Rarely do I give a five-star, but this place was exceptional. The sausage patties were not your typical grocery store product, the pancakes were awesome, the service was good & the place was noisy with chatter like a good restaurant should be. One of the best meals I've had in a while.
This is my go to place for breakfast. You cannot go wrong with anything. All the breads are homemade and delicious. They always have different flavored coffees too, unlike anything I have ever seen at other restaurants. My favorite meal is corn beef hash and two eggs over easy. Their corn beef hash is so fresh, definitely not from a can. The wait staff is so friendly! The next time you're looking for a place to have breakfast/brunch go check out Carver's. You will not be disappointed!
Very nice place for breakfast. The chorizo & eggs were delicious as were the ricotta pancakes and bacon! Large portions. Nice bread here too (baked in-house I believe).
