On the outside, this restaurant doesn't look like that much but the food and service were outstanding! When we stepped into the restaurant, we were greeted by many Friendly Smiles and it felt as if we were coming to an Italian family dinner.
Highly recommend the mozzarella en carozza... simply delicious! And I don't think I've ever had better marinara sauce. It was that perfect balance of fresh and savory, and went well with everything that we ordered. I mean, we didn't try it on the dessert but it was so good I wouldn't completely rule it out! My wife got the pork, and I got the veal parm. Both were outstanding. And the homemade tiramisu was probably the best I've ever had.
We did not have to wait long for our food, and the waitress came by regularly and was very friendly. In fact, all of the workers were very polite and professional. It was a wonderful experience and we can't wait to go back!
This place is such an amazing experience all around! We were immediately greeted with the friendliest smile and the staff is so welcoming and genuine. Also some of the most authentic and delicious Italian food I’ve honestly ever had! 10/10 and highly recommend!!! Will be back for sure!
Our group of 6 friends enjoyed our dinner. BYOB is our favorite way to go. The food was good and portions a good size. A great place to gather with your family and friends.
True New Jersey (authentic) Italian BYOB. COVID thankfully hasn’t taken a hit on the quality of the food here, like many restaurants.
Come ready and come hungry. This isn’t fancy Italian, but the best kind isn’t. Like your Italian grandmother, she’s going to stuff you with amazing food, and then still refill your plate…again and again. But it’s worth every bite.
The bruschetta is large and fantastically flavorful (four large pieces on fresh bread).
The fried calamari is with big “O”s and without tentacles; the two sauces - sweet snd spicy - are a nice touch.
The chicken parmigiana and eggplant rollatini come essentially in the same format - massive and with a LOT of cheese (expect leftovers).
The clams linguine is accompanied with 20+ baby clams and great flavor; just be careful, the sauce will splatter if you’re not careful.
The unexpected winner was the rigatoni Christina (swapped out the rigatoni for capellini which soaked the sauce right up *chefs kiss*) - the mushrooms add an umami complexity to the prosciutto and plum sauce with an added touch of peas.
Can’t wait to come back!
Went to lunch at this place- great food and great service. An old building on the old Morris Canal with LOTS of history. Great selection of unique Italian dishes and some regular ones. Everything seemed fresh and was very tasty. No liquor license but BYOB is accepted. They did have wine glasses and were able to open my bottle of wine w/o issue. YAY!
Go enjoy a great lunch/dinner in a casual atmosphere.
“This is probably the best Italian restaurant in Denville. The food is really good! The service is impeccable”
Delicious food large portions best tiramisu I've ever had. Plus it's BYOB.
You can't go wrong with a meal here.
Quaint Italian restaurant off of Main Street in Denville. Certainly worth the detour. Enjoyed a truly delicious plate of shrimp fra diavolo. Pasta was cooked perfectly served with 8 jumbo shrimp. Just the right amount of spice. Quick friendly service, will definitely return to this gem to try something different.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. They were very attentive and accommodating to our party of 12 in a private room.
Always good to come back home and go to my all time favorite place to eat. The owners and staff are super friendly, the food is outstanding, you can't go wrong. Give it a try you decide 🤔
Always a winner and very reasonably priced. Waitress was a joy . Everything was great I would recommend LA Cucina to anyone
Reservations for 7:30. Seated promptly. Great service. Bruschetta appy was delicious, and the eggplant rollatini entree was phenomenal!
A cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Greeted with gracious welcome right from the start. Food was absolutely delicious and desert was amazing. Can't wait to go back. Food portions are large and you won't go home hungry.
Their food is delicious but they give you too much, so prices are a little high. It was also chilly inside.
We had a lovely date night here with the mussels fra diavlo, the buratta mango salad, chicken marsala and potato dinner and the strawberry cheesecake. Intimate environment with an attentive staff.
We have been going to this restaurant for a long long time! La Cucina has a wonderful menu. And they always accommodate our food allergies. Of particular note is their lamb ragu!! For those of us who are lactose intolerant, many chefs put cream in their Ragu. Not La Cucina! It was absolutely wonderful, no milk needed! What I wish is that all restaurants would start doing dairy free dishes purposefully, that would be wonderful. Great place!
