Was well beyond my expectations. The staff provided outstanding service. The food was so good. Best smoked whitefish I have ever had. You have to try it. Fried bologna was unique and something I would have never tried. We also had the chopped salad, loaded baked potato pierogi, brussel sprouts, Duck and the best jerk wings. Everything was amazing. The drink menu was outstanding and we got to spend time with John who is behind this great restaurant. I highly recommend Grey Ghost. Make a reservation soon!

My Husband and I just spent our first wedding anniversary eating the most delicious meal at Grey Ghost Detroit. We started our meal with the chopped salad, He had the Dried Aged New York Strip with the Brussels sprouts while I had the Duck Breast and Sweet Corn Gritz! The cook surprised us with the Fried Bologna (you say what?!? Yes fried Bologna) OMG was it the most creative delicious thing I have ever tasted! A must have! The best is I am gluten free and the cook made sure to take care of my food! To top it off we had great service! Thank you to the cooks and our server Montana! We will for sure be back!

So delicious! From the Bloody Mary to the brunch options there is so much to get excited about! Everything we ate was delicious! Full of flavor & fun atmosphere. I had the smoked salmon quiche which had large pieces of salmon, others had eggs Benedict, pancakes, and other delicious items! So good! Highly recommend!

We dined at Grey Ghost 12.3.17 and were utterly impressed. I don't say that about many things! We were celebrating a very special occasion, so we sampled many drinks and dishes. As we waited for our table, we sipped on sweet and floral Grandma's Garden cocktails. I may have had 2 :). Once seated, our server went over many items on the menu and continued to be very helpful throughout the experience. We started with the pierogies, which were crispy on the outside and creamy and pillowy inside, atop a smoky-spicy sauce we kept going back for. We also ordered the sourdough with goat cheese butter, which was the only thing we didn't care for all that much. The bread was sliced halfway through, which might have made it a bit stale if it wasn't done right before serving. For our mains, we ordered the N.Y. Strip (fiance is still talking about it!) and the short ribs. I've never had such amazing, truly FALL OFF THE BONE short ribs like these. The cauliflower was a magical comfort food, and brussel sprouts were tangy and sweet. After our server boxed the rest of our plates, we decided to try the chocolate mousse trifle. No regrets... it was decadent and perfect to share! We will be back for sure (via reservations--very busy joint). For such a carefully curated menu, I would have expected very small plates, but the portions were quite large. I look forward to our next meal here, probably when the menu changes a bit seasonally to see what new surprises they have in store for us, or a weekend brunch because I don't know if I can bear too much time away.

Both my wife and I agree it was some of the best food we have had in quite some time, and the service was outstanding as well. Smoked Whitefish was an excellent start, followed by Beet Agnolotti for my wife, and the Duck Breast for me with a side of Asparagus, all top notch! We shared the Strawberry Nest for Dessert, best ice cream we have ever had! We cannot wait to go back!

My new favorite Detroit restaurant. Everything was phenomenal. Wait staff attentive without being obnoxious. The Brussels sprouts were amazing. The whitefish with, of all things a sunny side egg on top, was to die for. Our waiter made suggestions and he was absolutely correct. Can’t wait to go back.

The 25th hour is an amazing cocktail, if you like smooth and smoky with a touch of heat. We tried all of the side dishes, the pork, the flank steak, the wings, the bologna, and the cabbage. All of it was amazing, but the sides and smaller plates are what stood out. Anyone that can cook vegetables and sides that make you order second rounds of them is a phenomenal chef! Our service was top notch as well. Go with a group, and eat all the sides...twice!

EXCELLENT food and service with amazing cocktails. Owner was very nice and even stopped by our table to make sure we were happy with our food. Highly recommend the Cajun Shrimp Dumpling as an appetizer, it's delicious!!! All of our plates were top-notch! Can't wait to go back.

Service, food and drinks were spot on. Loved the soft shell crab slider and chop salad. The miso cured cabbage was like delicious and creative. Will be back for sure.
