I would rate 20 stars if I could! Absolutely my favorite restaurant! No place has better fish, my grandparents have been coming here since they were young and have never been anything less than impressed
The fish was great, but the smelt was better! Frying batter was not so heavy, great food. Don't drive by! Very affordable too.
I grew up in Detroit & many fish & chip places have closed. I still think Scotty's has the best fish & chips in Detroit & in the metro Detroit area. Fast & courteous waitresses also. I recommend trying it out if you haven’t been there yet. And if you used to go there before it’s time to go back!
Best fish and shrimp ever!!! The batter makes it the best!!! You will NEVER go anywhere else once you've been here. All other fish will fail to impress. You are literally "spoiled".
In a city that used to be over run with Fish & Chip restaurants, Scotty Simpson's has always been one of the best, and now is one of the only one's left. That has to, and does, speak very well of the quality of the food they serve.

So good! I remember that fresh taste from when I was a child and went there with my grandparents. The restaurant is very historic! I love it! Very clean and friendly place to enjoy a good meal!

Scotty Simpson's is very, very, very good fish !! Just gotta love that battered fish !! Also try Culvers they have a new store at I96 and Middlebelt in Livonia on the drive entrance too Home Depot. Culvers also has one of the best all around menue !!

Voted Best Fish Detroit every year for decades Scotty Simpsons is a very friendly restaurant with the best fish (and chips) I've had anywhere -- ever. In fact, there isn't an items on the menu that I haven't liked, and I've tried most. The frog legs are fantastic if you are in the mood for something different, and don't miss the shrimp either. And if you want his excellent, super fresh fish (cod), but without the batter and deep frying, just get it grilled. Tons of flavor, and that fish is still the same, perfect, delicious fish I've enjoyed over the years. Add Scotty's to your list.
Buddy took me here for the frog legs & onion rings, absolutely wonderful, made a return trip, just as good as the first! Will keep coming! Would recommend to everyone, and the one or two people that I've recommended are now recommending there friends and family!

Awesome and AMAZING. My boyfriend bought a groupon. but he heard of this place and wanted to go. I reluctantly went even though scared of the area. shouldn't have been...boyfriend kept me safe and the food was awesome and amazing. will be back most definitely. =) Don't hesitate to go.
The best fish and chips in the world. They know how to do fish and chips here. Everything I've ever ordered here is delicious. Staff is super friendly.

The Best Ever.. I am a fish and chip junkie. Growing up consuming Scotty Galls then becoming Fergie's, I always thought it was the best. As places get older and changes in ownership the product degrades. Harry has kept the original fish and chips I grew up to love alive. I challenged a friend on who had the best, she won without an argument from me, I also had to pay. This place has the style, taste and texture I judge all others against. Now no longer in the area I long for the favorites I had in Wayne county. Some day I may make the trip south and have another meal of their perfect fish and chips. I still search for a equal in the north, some are close but not close enough. Keep on Keepin' On Harry !!
Best fish and chips in Detroit and beyond! Light crispy batter surrounding delicious cod filets. Coming here is like a step back in time and the guy that runs the place looks a bit like Terry Bradshaw. My only complaints are the cold roll (pop it in the mikey for a few seconds) and the little paper cups they insist on serving their tartar sauce in! All in all, the fish is why I make the 30 mile drive, and that alone is completely worth it!!
Light and fluffy fish. Great fish,i get it with light batter,great french fries and fresh cole slaw and i love the all natural ginger beer,i think there closed on mondays.the staff is very nice
Great Fish And Chips. Though not on the beaten path, this place is worth a visit. The cod floats off the plate and the batter is so light I'm stumped as to how they do it.
Scotty Simpson’s is a place you go to feel good. Harry makes it that way. He wants it to be a family affair. He and his crew have made a commitment to providing the best food possible. You can eat fish and chips at a lot of places. But for my money the history, staff, atmosphere, and food at Scotty Simpson’s can’t be beat.
