Sunnyside is a cute, old-fashioned little place. It reminds me of the bakery in the neighborhood I grew up in. It's not fancy, but it's cheap and friendly.
Today, I got a large, flaky apricot pastry, and somehow it was only 65 cents. Yum! I had enough left to also get a small coffee, which was 90 cents and delicious.
Last time I visited, I bought a loaf of plain old white bread. It was the best bread I'd had in a long time. My roommate and I could not stop eating it--the loaf disappeared rapidly from our kitchen counter.
When i was a kid i lived in this neighborhood, id always beg my mom to take me there afterschool as a child. Surprised to see its still there! People there were always friendly
I'm not sure when it happened, but the Sunnyside Bakery has been closed for a few months now. The phone is also disconnected. So sad...
