I frequent this coffee shop quite often there's a secret code it is not such a secret anymore that when the red umbrella is out she's open for business which is kind of cool she has a great following somewhat like a Cracker Barrel General Store or a good old fashioned barber shop everyone communicates with each other all the patrons the employees are very Interactive a local gardener comes by with fresh flowers a couple times a week and just drop some off because he can the area that she's located in is very strong and up and coming she is been on the forefront of a couple of locations and made it evident that she knows what she's doing how to get a crowd keep a crowd and make some amazing Dish. I rarely eats even though I'm a chef but I have eaten breakfast at Angela for I don't know how long now she makes a wicked egg strata and she makes this coffee that generates energy that puts that gold and black bunny to shame . you do not need to be a hipster yet just have to be yourself to go to the coffee shop and she's got some great legs . it's attached to a pretty cool record store that sells everything from vintage posters in the Grand Ballroom to reel to reel recorders and record players and really well conditioned vinyl he is a ray of sunshine his name is Ray lol get a chance Eastside on the corner of Chalmers and East Jefferson swing on in just do it people its a cozy spot and you're going to dig it I know I used to be a cool kid now I'm a perfectionist lol PS it is dog friendly and in that camera shy see you at the shop the coffee shop

Omg I just love your dishes, a Doctor had food catered from here over this past weekend and the co-owner came and picked it up, she's from Beautiful Bridal and I had a dish I think was a sweet potatoe salad. I tried looking three your pictures but couldn't find it, I would love to know the name of this wonderful dish and find out how I can get some. And the lemon bar was also great.
Love this coffee hangout!! Caring, neighborhood connected owner. Homemade, healthy baked goods and good coffee and teas! Thanks, Angela!!
Love this good vibes-good people-tasty treats coffee shop! Angela is wildly talented and has created a truly one-of-a-kind, cozy, eclectic space to hang out in and meet old, as well as new, friends. The fact that it's vegan AND plant-based makes it that much better!!! I don't know of any other place in town that offers anything like it!
This place is great, just popped in for a quick to go cup and talked to the owner for a few. This little shop is the perfect place to grab a good cup and some food, read a book, or get some work done in a nice quiet environment!!
What a beautiful, comfy neighborhood spot with great coffee and food!
I love it (and Angela) even though I'm not a vegan. Her food is delicious, and she's a wonderful coffee bartender.
Fabulous ingredients, actual spice and flavor in the dish, and a devastatingly delightful deep chocolate triple layer cake with dark chocolate raspberry confiture with almond ganache icing (and vegan). What else needs to be said after a dessert of this magnificence.
The food, pastries, coffee and teas here are simply amazing! Angela is always so kind and inviting. Not to mention she knows what's she's doing! She likes to experiment with unexpected recipes and they always turn out so very delicious!! Oh! Don't forget to try the coconut whipped cream! 👌🏽😉
Love this place! Plenty of seating inside, with a patio in front and backyard patio . So far have tried and loved the key lime pie, vegan mocha brownie, and coffee!

Amazing Plantbased pastries and food, convivial community spirit and of course the Amazing Coffee Angela. This place changed my life. Every moment here is a good day.
Very charming coffee house and the owner is so sweet. She makes gluten free and vegan dishes.
Best coffee in town, great cakes. Keep us posted on your hours. Bill and Jean
Banana Bread and a strong coffee buzz. Angela is always a warm and friendly addition to any morning!
This place is a gem! Not only did I have a cup of delightful specialty coffee, I met great people, had heartfelt conversations, and ate a slice of vegan tahini banana bread so good it could fuel a revolution!
Check the hours on facebook before you go, but by all means, go!
Has vegan options, everything was delicious. Coffee and teas are made from scratch. Veey homey friendly service and the decor and vibes are perfect. I hope this place does great and stays open forever.
very cool place, stopped in on the way to Joe louis arena. great homemade banana bread, coffee was fantastic as you would expect from a local coffee shop. Worth stopping again next time I am in Detroit.
This shop has been such a gift from the first time I rolled in. There is positivity and creativity bleeding out of this place and not to mention the food and coffee is to die for. Every flower, candle, and piece of art in the shop brings everything together for a calming and positive atmosphere. I also just started trying to make healthier choices in general for my health and Angela (store owner) was so kind to take time to tell me tips and tricks for cooking and being vegan and has been a huge support.
They also have open mics throughout the month and that has been a neat community to get in touch with.
Whether you are looking for a place to study, read, just sit, breathe, or get a tasty treat, this is the place for you.
Love Coffee and! Pastry Chef and owner Angela crafts daily vegan and plant based goodies that are a must try and try and gain. Different offerings every day except Tuesday when the shop is closed. A cool relaxing place to hang, have coffe/tea and enjoy some awesome food. Free internet too! When in Detroit a must stop to have vegan treats!
Detroit style homey place. Decor is a neato mixture of a quality old building and repurposed pallet furniture. Has an airy feel indoors and a cool courtyard. Kind service. I'll be back
Combine the classical training with plant based California. Add protected bike lanes and the U D Mercy community design studio and you get a unique spot near Michigan's Venice: Jefferson Chalmers.
