Latest visit was to Dover Grill which based on its name is in fact located in Dover on Route 46. Can honestly say I've passed this spot countless number of times and have never bothered stopping in until recently.
With a good choice of dogs to order from, picking was not easy but ended up ordering a chili dog with onions and a hot onion dog with a small side of fries. Came in after the typical lunch rush and was able to grab a stool inside. While some reviewers may say the place is dated, I will say the place is nostalgic and made for a great lunch atmosphere. The Hot dogs were tasty and the krinkle cut fries were served hot.
Bummed that I've passed by so many times and never bothered stopping in. Will definitely add them to the rotation. Was prompted to stop in prior to them closing for the season. The good news is they are open for another month and close up on November 23 and will reopen in March 2024..

The Frank N Beans and a cheeseburger slider. What a great spot for a quick bite to eat. The staff at the counter are very friendly and the kitchen prepared our food quickly. It took less than 5 minutes. Everything was reasonably priced. Will certainly recommend.
I’ve been going here ever since I was a little kid, it’s always been sort of a tradition in my family to go there and Dover dairy when you guys open up. My family and I love it here. Great food, plenty off options and amazing ice cream at Dover dairy
We went here based on a friend's recommendation. We wanted to go to Ruts Hut, bit didn't think we would make it before they closed. We got the jumbo hot dog. Actually, we got 2 each. We should have stopped at 1 because it hurt our stomachs to finish it. The hot dogs themselves are BIG, but the chili and cheese are unassuming. Everything was so good. I'd love to go back. It's good to know this place is CASH ONLY.
An old time outdoor hot dog & ice cream stand right in the middle of Dover. Both the burgers and dogs are excellent; fresh and grilled perfectly - much better quality than any fast food chain, but the soft ice cream, while still good, is sometimes a little too soft and maybe too airy? (Could be just my personal preference with soft ice cream.)
Great food especially hot onions everything here is delicious don’t miss out on all the way fries
I have been coming to the Dover Grill for decades! My old hometown favorite and it never disappoints. Small family owned business (along with Dover Dairy Maid next door) that has a great menu selection!
My kids really enjoy the food here, mainly the burgers and dogs. Always hot & delicious food. I like that they offer all beef hot dogs too!
My son is going to the Kubert Art school down the street from Dover grill, so we go there often. He loves a bacon cheeseburger and always a shake too!
I think he'd eat there every day if he could. Lol
My daughter enjoys the mac-n-cheese bites!
I consider my self a "Cheesteak-Connoisseur"! I <3 their Cheesesteaks! I frequent this place, more than I like to mention! Sandwiches are AMAZING... Great Size, Great Meat, Great TASTE!! I've hit almost every "top" Cheesesteak place in Philly and Tri-State Area! by-far/hands-down, 1 of my very favorites! Sadly not open all year around... and only "Ca$h" (no Credit Cards)... You will not Go Wrong to visit this place, very clean, friendly staff, plenty of parking (Private-Lot; across the street) You can even eat "al-fresco" (dinning tables w/ umbrellas right outside; Give it try! ENJOY!
Great hot dogs, fries & onion rings, the Ruben dog is delicious as is pretty much everything else. Hamburgers and Cheesesteaks are really good but it's all about the dogs!!! The deep fried one is 🔥 after eating here hit next door for incredible ice cream
Hands down the best hot dogs & chili cheese fries! They also make their own fruit drinks and they are delicious!
Worth the 40 mins drive every-time I love getting the slider, mozzarella sticks and the cheesesteak is pretty good. I love how atmosphere gives off an old school 80/90 . It is cash only so remember to bring cash .
The food was great for what we ordered. Spicy onions were fantastic. Portions were good. We ate inside on stools. While the cooking area was spotless, the countertop was filled with crumbs where we ate. It's kind of dated inside and out. CASH ONLY be prepared. We enjoyed our food of hot dog, sausage sandwich and fries. All were very tasty and well prepared. Will return
Always good and quick food, burgers and hotdog are always taste fresh of grill, never disappointed
Great, great, great. It's open seasonally and when it is, I eat here a few times a week during the summer. Get a mini cheeseburger. Get four! Great road food and worth the detour from Rt 80.
Hot dogs, hot Texas weiners, chili dogs, hamburgers, shakes and store made juices. Fries, onion rings, fried shrimp, etc. Located next to Dover Dairy ice cream on Rt. 46 and across from the Dover High School complex. Enter and parking on the side street in rear. Street parking and parking lot across the street from entrance. CASH ONLY. No credit cards accepted. Small amount of in door seating and a few picnic tables outside.
I start a countdown yearly on when the grill and its adjacent ice-cream fountain re-open in the spring. Good burgers, good dogs, a decent Philly cheese steak and a a comprehensive list of sides. No atmosphere, but you can't eat ambiance.
There were six of us pretty big order. Came out fast and most of all correctly. Food was good.
Staff was attentive and not intrusive while we were catching up. Great food and atmosphere.
