I love the cellar door. Cheese flights are stellar. RED sangria is quite lovely. The fact that they offer good beer is also a bonus. The very first time I was there was on new year's eve. They had live entertainment which was quite good. The champagne we had was excellent. These things were what enamored me. Since then i have been back as often as I can. The service is a bit "slow ", even if the place is not filled. Food is good but a bit pricey. If you sit outside it's kinda noisy because of the traffic. It's too bad it is not a bit bigger.

Love the cheese flights! The pork tacos are a fantastic gluten free option. My husband loves the Cuban sandwich and craft beers. Yummy sangria! Definitely our "go-to" spot in the neighborhood!

I'm a member of the wine club and always enjoy their monthly picks. The food and service are excellent too! A great addition to downtown Downers Grove.

Went there for drinks after dinner & had a great time. Relaxing atmosphere & our server Tabatha was attentive & gave us great suggestions when we ordered an appetizer. Price was great for sitting there 3 hours, having had 6 drinks & an appetizer for around $60.

An Enjoyable Lunch. Downtown Downers Grove, Illinois, is gaining in charm and vitality each year. We've enjoyed many lunches at the fine restaurants up and down Main Street. We are happy to report of another fine restaurant, Cellar Door. The day was beautiful so we chose to sit outside. It was suggested that we think about the cheese and meat plate. We selected four delicious cheeses and three thinly sliced meats. It came with warm bread and crackers. There were walnuts and dried cherries to decorate the platter and tickle the palate. One of the cheeses, Explorateaur, a French Brie, was absolutely wonderful. My wife liked it so much she asked where she could buy some and was told the store in the next town stocked it. We also had prosciutto and some jambon de pays. It was all wonderful. Of course, we had to have a nice cheery wine. They recommended an Argentinian Chardonay. It was quite good, chilled to be refreshing without blocking the taste. In all it was delightful. The Cheese platter and the two glasses of wine without tip was $37.

The Cellar Door is a nice option and worth a trip on its own to Downers Grove if you are not a local.

Great establishment to spend a portion of Father Day 2023 (part 2)😂 We were able to snag a high top table up on sidewalk after originally sitting in full on sun table down in street, near traffic. Staff were super efficient and friendly. Ordered White Sangria $6/glass, which turned out to be perfect for the nice hot, sunny day👍 We didn't order any food, but the items we saw being served looked really good. Charcuterie boards were being ordered... Maybe next visit.

I worry about posting about this location, because it feels like my little slice of heaven on this earth. The food is amazing and the wine is very exciting to try. You won’t be disappointed, but be aware if there is an event going on, as seats are limited.

Great wine bar. Menu has several great items suiting all tastes. Noticed that customers were local folks that come here often. Good sign! We'll be back.

We have been coming here for several years for a glass of wine and an appetizer for date night, and we have always had a lovely experience. Tonight was the first night that we ordered takeout for our slightly demanding family Of 6. We have one child with a gluten allergy, one with a tree nut allergy, one who is ridiculously picky, and one who is embarrassingly bougie. Thus, we are essentially a restaurants’ dream family!! The takeout service was just as amazing as any in-person encounter we have ever had— And, every single child LOVED their dinner. The pickiest of all asked if we can order from here tomorrow. We highly recommend Cellar Door!

Great atmosphere for an outdoor dinner, friendly staff. Chicken pesto salad...dressing was a little watery, only 1 tiny 1 tsp of burrata but otherwise good. Tincho was real refreshing.

Great spot in the heart of downtown Downers. Food and drinks were amazing and add in the outdoor seating this this is a must hit summertime destination. I had the flank steak tacos and the they were awesome. Our table also had the patty melt and club, and they were very pleased. Gotta add that the chips really went well with them. Looking forward to our next visit.

Incredible food and overall experience. Brittany was the best server in awarding us so much patience and giving us great recommendations. We had the smoked salmon sandwich, the charcuterie, spicy chicken sandwich, and pesto chicken salad. The hibiscus Royale drink was a great wine cocktail for us wine beginners. We even took home a bottle!

Came here for trivia on Wednesday night and had an amazing time. Lots of options for wine of course, but they also have plenty of beer options to choose from. We tried the nachos and the bruschetta and both tasted great!

Recent management, with Ryan, ensures the continually stellar gustatory experience. The social aspects are equally remarkable with the chefs, employees, and patrons. Come here only if you are willing to get your money's worth.

My wife and I have been coming here for several years and it never, ever disappoints! We have had everything on the food menu (a few times over) and it never, ever ceases to amaze us! The food is ALWAYS top-notch, the wine selection is fantastic, and the entire team is so friendly and courteous! I would definitely recommend enjoying their outdoor space on a beautiful summer afternoon or evening. The food, paired with a few glasses of wine, while taking in all downtown Downers Grove has to offer is a great date night idea!

Wish I could put 10 out of 10 stars. Food was absolutely wonderful. The c-board was really fun and had great options. I strongly recommend the mango cheese! Every person in the group tried some thing different. I had chicken gyro. Very fresh and so filling! Two tried different pizza with the cauliflower crust...Every bit was gone! Not a single leftover was found. The pesto salad was great.

My girlfriend & I had a lovely visit, bottle of wine & charcuterie board here Thursday night. Our waitress was perfectly attentive..there to pour some more wine, but not hovering too much. I checked out the sidewalk, indoor hightop & standard tables...all great options. If you're a group of ~5-7, it looked like there was also a small lounge area with couches. Decent selection of bottles in the fridge and on the shelf for carryout or in-house (surcharge if opening in restaurant, but less than glasses if you're drinking the same thing). Other delicious appetizer and sandwich options also available. Will be back!
