The food is amazing!
We've tried every Ramen shop on the south-side of the valley, and Samurai noodle is the best. The noodles are made on-site, so they are super fresh. They make a spicy garlic sauce that is really really good. This Ramen is authentic, and yes I can base that on my travels to Japan. I've started going every week. Keep it up!
Instantly transported to Japan with a bowl of flavorful broth, and some of the best noodles I’ve ever tasted. This place is a must!!! Great job Lance Uno and staff! We will be back.
Updated review. We have returned and the service was great. The food is still amazing. Thank you for taking comments seriously and improving.
I love the food here but last time we came we waited for 15 minutes to get just water and then sat around for another 10 without having our order taken. It was not busy at all and some people who came after us were served first.
My friends and eye made contact with the waiter to signal that we wanted our order taken but he just stood there staring at us. We stood up and left and he didn’t say a word.
I have never had such terrible service and I am extremely disappointed. If I ever go back and the same waiter is there I won’t bother going in.
The ramen and service were both excellent. My friend and I both ordered the super ramen and if I lived near there would be there at least once a week! So good!
The spicy super and super ramen are scrumptious! The toppings and meat are super fresh. The pork buns have a great savory flavor. Our waitress was willing to make recommendations and it’s a kid friendly restaurant. The reason I gave 4 stars is there was a hair in the cutlery I was given and the service was a bit slow.
Samurai Noodle was really good. I got the Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen and I enjoyed it. The broth was flavorful and the pork was very soft and tasty. I went with someone who loves Ramen and they enjoyed it so much they came back the next day. We had a large group and the ramen was served really fast. The atmosphere is kind of low end but you are coming for the ramen.
This ramen place is great! I’m glad I decided to try it. My favorite ramen to get is the garlic shouyu ramen. The garlic in it adds such good flavor and makes it really delicious. The portions are big and filling, you could easily share. I also recommend trying their gyoza for an appetizer. The sauce with it is awesome.
Was told by locals one of the best noodle shops in town, they were right. Great fresh ingredients with tons of different flavors.
We ordered a little of everything spicy garlic, Spicy Shouyu Tonkotsu Ramen, Shouyu Tonkotsu Ramen and others. All were delicious and the portions were huge.
The place is very small and compact so watch for peak hours. They are also short staffed, like a lot of places so service is a bit slow. Great people working there doing their best so it's not their fault.
Would I go here again? Yes. Delicious food, great price and great portions.
I ordered the hataka tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki, and both were delicious! The pork in the tonkotsu melted in my mouth and the broth was rich and delicious, and surprisingly wasn’t super salty compared to other ramen places. The takoyaki stole the show in my opinion, and had decent size chunks of octopus that I greatly appreciated. The staff was pleasant and I got my order in a timely fashion , even though it was lunch rush and there were only 3 staff. I’ll be coming back :)
I have been here a few times and I will continue to keep coming back. This place is legit! They make their own noodles in house. The broth tastes amazing and there’s a good variety to choose from. Plus you can always add more toppings of whatever you want. I love that they have spam musubi on the menu. I highly recommend eating here. Maybe one day I will attempt the Mt. Fuji Challenge.
First time here and they have really great ramen! Ordered the spicy and regular miso. Great service and the menu has lots of options to pick from.
Very delicious rice bowls ! And great environment
I failed the Mt Fuji challenge, but there were many has conquered the challenge. There were tons of noodles and about 2-3 lbs of mixed veggies of carrots, bamboos shoots…(mostly bean sprouts) top with thinly sliced tenderloins, half-cut boiled egg, and garnish.
The broth was alright, but not that rich, not fully flavored. The noodle was perfectly cooked soft enough to slurp. How you want your noodle cooked is your choice, mine was at soft level, easy to slurp. The egg was soft with running yolk, the pork slices were a bit dry, a better marinated chashu pork needed to add more flavor.
There’s many Japanese artwork on wall but a special room for making fresh ramen noodle in house which was wonderful. I’ve been in some ramen shop, most used packaged noodle from vendors, not as fresh as this place.
Due to ramen made out of wheat and eggs, you need to eat quickly before the hot soup would make them mushy, thicken the broth from starch and unbalanced the taste of broth. Sip the broth first then add any condiments on table to adjust your taste. I usually don’t add any condiments to any broth, just to taste the original flavor.
Be advised: don’t expect for any service from server or waitress due to shortage of staff, pay at counter after done eating.
I’m on the search for unforgettable killer ramen but have not found one so far. If you need a quick eat, then this place will fix you right.
I have had their noodles couple times. Service is fast and friendly. Noodles serves really fast and delicious. Definitely keep coming back
Very authentic taste. They use the “real” broth that is totally different from the artificial flavors in other ramen restaurants I have tried in local area. I’m Asian and I do like Samurai.
Absolutely amazing, my significant other and I have tried many a place in regards to ramen. This is my first time finding a 10/10 place. All around deliciousness, will definitely come back before I leave salt lake!! I tried the spicy super ramen!
You won't regret coming here over the "Big J" chain. Three gyoza are legit, the noodles are house made and the broth is amazing. The Spicy Super Ramen is my favorite.
