Great place for lunch, dinner or drinks. Extremely friendly staff. Their raw bar is delicious, one of the best in Duck. Doug Watkins went above and beyond to make our family feel welcome and always well accommodated our needs. He even found time to hit 18 with us on one of the harder courses on the island. Great job Doug! WE WILL BE BACK!!
I had the Mahi and fries that also came with coleslaw. The fish was very fresh, flaky and flavorful. My husband had the shrimp and grits and was pleased with it as well. The server was very polite and checked on us at appropriate times. We enjoy going to Fishbones while in the OBX.
Best place in Duck North Carolina, the bartender John is awesome. The food is amazing fish is so tender cooked perfect Lucas is an amazing chef definitely coming here again before we leave!!
Wonderful food! Manager was our waiter and we couldn’t have asked for a friendlier person! Great experience!!
We were there two nights in a row. Great restaurant! We had a few minutes wait both nights. Doug the bartender made a concoction called a Currituck Heat ... Milagro Tequila, hibiscus, and a jalepeno/cilantro infused ice cube. Great food ... Mahi Francese, Shrimp and Chicken linguine; clams and oysters, clam chowder, great sides.
Love this place!!! There's no better place in Duck to grab a burger and a beer!!!
Our group of five sat at the bar cause there was a wait on tables. The bartender was engaging and did a good job, the food was great, coconut shrimp and crab cakes were excellent.
New Management, great food and good drinks. Very friendly and personable service. Got tired of going to cravings where are you have servers and bartenders that are more interested in their telephones than giving customer service.
Food was really good. Service (Ken) was excellent. We went off season so no crowd, no wait. Food came out quickly. Desserts were also very tasty!
Great service and waiter staff, in fact, as it turns out,
"Fishbones" was the only Restaurant we visited during our stay in the Outer Banks!
The STAFF makes this place amazing. The food was top notch but the wait was longg. They don't take reservations, so it's first come first serve. A few of us went first, put our name on the list and the second half of our party came a little later. Just make sure your entire party is there when you're about to be seated. The wings were delicious and the flounder scallops and shrimp were cooked perfect.
A casual place located on the second level of a shopping area. We stopped in for a quick lunch upon arriving in Duck for our week getaway. The service was fine - as was the food. The grilled shrimp on Caesar and blackened Mahi sandwich with pasta salad. My daughter and son in law really liked this place - they went back 4 times!
We had good food and good service during our visit. The place was very clean and our server was knowledgeable of the menu and helpful with our selections. They also offer both inside and outside dining.
Stopped in Duck for a sunset on the sound and got an amazing combination of flounder, shrimp, Crab cakes and scallops. Great atmosphere and the food was delicious .
Tried the Award Winning clam chowder and it was so delicious! A great spot to try if you've never been to OBX before! The queso dip with chicken and Bloody Mary's are also super amazing as well!!
Had lunch with some friends. The blackened mahi sandwich was absolutely delicious. It was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and served on a soft, warm brioche bun. The clam chowder was tasty, and full of clams. We also had the steamed shrimp. Yum! Our bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely an enjoyable experience. Keep up the good work! Can’t wait to come back!
Both had the bison burger which was seasoned just right. The AC was mercifully turned high since it was so hot with no breeze. Our server was attentive but super busy. The food was excellent though and came quickly. Our server sent us off with cold drinks so we were able to enjoy the rest of our day in Duck.
The crab dip was ok but wouldn't order it again. The kids liked their meals of Mac and cheese and pasta with marinara. The shrimp salad (can't recall the menu name) was good. My husband had the oysters and shrimp. The shrimp were a good size. The oysters were on the smaller side of oysters he has had but they were good tasting. Service was good and they were kind.
Best coconut shrimp I’ve ever had, I was very impressed. The shrimp and grits was amazing as well. My girlfriend had the nachos and the seafood mac, I tried some and they were good too. Only complaint is that it’s very overpriced, but so is every other place in the area
Mostly experience on Sunday. It wasn’t busy at all. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Looks simple but cute. We were greeted and seated promptly. Food tasted good. The only negative is their tap water had a terrible taste to it and they didn’t have any bottled water. Overall good experience.
Went here today and sat at the bar. Our bartender Lavi was amazing and she took her time suggesting things on the menu. We had the Calamari and Honey Ginger Soy Wings (both were amazing!). Lobster Shrimp Gnocchi is just so good! We loved everything about this place!
Stopped in for a family dinner while on vacation in Duck. Fishbones does not take reservations and is not open on Wednesdays. Despite not taking reservations they were able to seat our party of 8 with only a 20 minute wait. Our server was friendly, and willing to make recommendations but she did not stop by our table very often. The food was good. We enjoyed our evening.
I had the fish which was bland but ok. Everyone else in our party had burgers in which they enjoyed. They also said the Calamari was very good. The Fishbone Amber Ale was a great beer and I wish I could purchase it outside the restaurant. The service was perfect from the hostess to the waiter.
Have to first say, we are a party of nine so not a small task handling our herd. That stated, we had a phenomenal experience at Fishbones.
Our server, Amerika, was fantastic. He was very personable, chatty, well versed in all aspects of the menu and offerings, and most importantly attentive. Best server we’ve had on our vacation.
The food was great. Our starters; Blackfin crab dip, calamari, queso and chips were excellent. The crab dip was creamy and flavorful, the calamari was lightly breaded and perfectly prepared (not rubbery at all). A couple clam chowders were eaten and were delicious, as was the chicken gumbo.
Entrees were amazing. Our group got: a couple burgers, fried shrimp and fries, a Bucket of Bait (clams and shrimp), Shrimp Diablo pasta, two Tuna Bowls and two Blackened Ahi Tuna steaks.
Everything was delicious but of note were the Tuna Bowls (spicy and wonderfully constructed) which had fantastic flavor. The Ahi Tuna steaks (both blackened) were awesome. Mine was rare and it could not have been better. The Bucket was very good; shrimp was excellent and the clams (though very small) were good as well.
This was our groups first visit to Fishbones but won’t be our last. Thank you Amerika!
Bar tender was awesome and a fun person to talk with. The mussels were so good we ordered it again right after we finished the first order. More eye candy here. Steak egg rolls are not worth $15 they have better options. I was feeling a little tired and needed a pick me up so I ordered the black pearl.
This wasn't planned . But we got double booked at a restaurant and driving past we stopped.
The snow crab was great, and so was the service.
