Ate there yesterday! Never knew this joint was 1 mile from my house.Ordered pulled pork with potato salad and collard greens.....the food was EXCELLENT! Recommend this place highly.....I would go back!
Food is absolutely amazing, and the owner is truly an awesome person all around! Worth checking out if you enjoy good bbq with a great environment. You'll feel right at home here, they take care of their customers!
I've been to plenty of BBQ restaurants and have a few favorites. Byrd's has some of the best around and the selection of sides are tasty. My go to is the chicken -bbq combo with slaw, pinto's,mac and cheese. If you're close by definitely give them a try. Plus family run...
My favorite place for breakfast and lunch.....love the breakfast bowl and chicken salad sandwich. Yummy
Some of the best ribs I've had in a long time outstanding food great courtesy great help nicely price

Today was my first time here. The atmosphere was the first thing the drew me in. The country feeling took me back to my family reunion times. The food was very good!!! Doesn't taste like restaurant food. Someone took their time and cooked liked they were cooking for family. I will come again, again and again.
Great food and the smoked turkey is so moist and juicy and it is very tasty it will be a bonus to have when it comes to turkey day
Noah & Michelle are amazing! Great personality! Great Food! #iSupport Small Biz...you should too!
Okay guys, so I gotta tell you about this hidden gem. This one you are going to want to try. The first time I tried this place I had some family over and they wanted something to eat. This place was close by so very convenient. Blew us away. The menu had too many things we wanted to try. We spent just a little more than expected so we were skeptic at first after having being let down by a couple of BBQ places in Durham already. But this one . . . Oh this was the one! I think they had like a peach flavored rib sauce that day, no complaints on the ribs! NONE. I haven't stopped going to the place since. It has a mom and pop feel to it where everybody knows your name, even if they don't. The owner she's great, her mom, shes great, the guys in the back amazing! Always smiling and having a great time cooking. I will let you know this place will run out of food so get it while you can! The mornings are for breackfast, afternoons are for lunch and stock up on the tea, I usually get a couple of gallons to hold me over. This ain't your average McDonald's tea, no sir this is your southern sweet tea made just right! The hours are from earlier morn, to the afternoon, so you can get breakfast on the way to work and stop here for lunch, no dinner hours at this time. On a sidenote, everyone goes here so whatever you need you will find someone that can help you with it here shoutout to Kris at GT Fencing 😉. The conclusion is this, go here period.
Sorry, no picture, I had nearly cleared my plate before I thought of it. This place is a hole in the wall, in the best sense of the term. If a small side of the road, family run BBQ Joint is your thing, then you need to check out Byrd's BBQ.
The pork was pulled, not chopped. I prefer pulled pork, it is my opinion pulled pork is harder to execute well than chopped. The pork was clean, had a great flavor with good smoke, seasoning, and a nice chew.
I also ordered a rib to try, it was too was excellent. Good smoke, tender but not overcooked, and a nice subtle amount of sauce. Just enough sauce to make me use a napkin, but not covering up the meat by drenching in sauce.
Both my wife and I agreed, the collards were some of the best we have had.
If you happen to be in the Raleigh / Durham area and are looking for a good "Mom and Pop" BBQ Joint, check out Byrd's BBQ.

A must stop for North Carolina BBQ in Durham. Get the pulled pork, with sides, all are great, and sit a while. I'm definitely coming back for the amazing food and hospitality!
Stopped in with a friend for lunch around 12 and there was no waiting and plenty of seating. The food was great and my friend ordered the BBQ sandwich plate and I tried the flounder filet (see photos). Everything was good. The place was clean and all of the staff was super friendly. If you are looking for a great place to eat ran by local owners stop here. It's good.
Enjoyed my tea and fried baloney sandwich!
Delicious, authentic southern cooking. We just moved in the Durham area and checked out this spot since we live so close. We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of food we received for the price. Highly recommend!
This was my first visit and let me just say, they did NOT disappoint! My food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. Definitely worth a return trip!
