The bubble tea was so good I got the Taro with Coconut and Pearls and the Oreo Milk with Coffee Jelly. Delicious, friendly staff and would definitely come back for more. I want to try the other flavor they have to offer there and the crepes that they make too! Get the large it’s worth it for the extra .25 cents it costs.
This place has - by far - the best Mochi Donuts I’ve ever had. They are freshly made everyday, they offer a variety of flavors (my favorites are dark chocolate and Oreo) and they basically melt in your mouth. They are in high demand and sell out pretty quickly, so be sure to grab a box or two if you’re in the area because these donuts are - an experience. Check out their hours of operation too so you don’t miss out. Enjoy!
I absolutely love Kai Sweets! It’s my favorite part of going to Mitsuwa! They are all so friendly and have such amazing mochi donuts!
They have a solid selection of regular flavors that are available all of the time and then they frequently do new limited edition flavors. Just recently they had a pineapple flavor to celebrate the summer and it was soooo tasty!
My favorite flavors are the yuzu citrus and strawberry. I also really like the black sesame and the double taro whenever they have it available.
There’s another new flavor they’ve done a few times but I always seem to miss it; key lime pie! Definitely want to try that one.
If you follow their Instagram they will announce what special flavors they are doing for the day if any so it’s definitely worth following them :)
Kai Sweets is like a staple of Mitsuwa. You have the supermarket across the way and you have your fill of all the savory food options too, but you gotta make room for dessert! If you're not in the mood for mochi donuts next door at Mochimochi Kai Sweets, Kai Sweets will hook you up!
It's a cute cafe located inside the building immediately to the left of the main entrance. They offer a variety of options in terms of desserts but don't sleep on their lunch options too! They have teas, coffees, and cute macarons with widely popular characters, but my personal favorite thing to eat are their crepes. Due to the pandemic, they made them even easier for takeout, but of course, they are just beautifully delicious.
The staff are friendly and sweet and the selection of goods are plentiful and delish. Couldn't ask for more!
Ok 1 star off because i truly thought these doughnuts were gluten free and also because they are out of doughnuts pretty fast even when you come early. BUT if u dont mind coming super early and u are not GF then this place is a MUST! Yummy mochi doughnuts! I couldnt have them but my sister and friends ate them in like matter of seconds (ok minutes!). My sister said it had a chewy and unique consistentcy. Her friend who has traveled to Japan said it’s pretty close to the ones she’s had in Japan and it pretty delicious! Definitely worth a bite or 10
Never going back to any other donuts.
Kai Sweets makes the best mochi donuts around! The flavor variety comes from whatever is available that day and is super fresh, not greasy. The chewiness and sweetness is just right 👌
I probably go there every other weekend with my friends just to eat donuts and walk along the river.
This is only a review of the Mochi Donut side of Kai Sweets. One of the best donuts I’ve had don’t feel guilty about eating. The donuts do start to get hard if you keep them more than a day after they are baked from the store. So these are best enjoyed as quickly as you can after buying them. Flavors can be limited as some flavors need more time and come out at noon but the early morning flavor might sell out if you wait.
I haven’t tried the crepe and tea section of Kai Sweets yet.
I love the donuts but they are higher in price like premium flavor Krispy Kreme donuts.
