Oh my... The food was divine. The collard greens weren't overcooked, they weren't salty or spicey. Rather than back fat they must use a smoked ham hock which gives them a slightly smokey and mildly salty taste.
Creole beans are great! They have a bit of hot link, a nice surprise.
The ribs are unbelievable. The sauce is sweet and tangy with a mild kick, most barbeque sauces are either tangy or sweet. This is really nice.
The sweet potato pie is really good. Creamy, nutmeg, nice crust. The pecan pie isn't a gelatinous "goo" with some nuts on top. It's also not sugary sweet, really nicely done.
It was a trip down memory lane, can't wait to go back.
Aggie's BBQ is a family owned resteraunt just off of 76th and Perrinville. The food was heavenly, and the sauce was to die for!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the best night eating tasty collard greens and ribs. If you haven't had true southern cooking, or if you have, and you miss it, this is the way it was meant to be. I can't say enough good. π π π π π
