The key of Piel Canela is in its authenticity. The different seasonings used in its dishes remind me of Central/South Mexican cuisine. I've been here three times now for breakfast, lunch, and early afternoon and can say that the flavor is very rich and consistent. They offer seasonal dishes like Chile en Nogada and everyday favorites like Menudo and Pozole. Serving size is on the large size so no matter what you order you get a pretty large serving. The atmosphere and music helps give it that relaxing, home feel. Can't miss out on their Sopa Azteca!
The servers are so knowledgable and helpful. They legitimately care that your experience is the best possible. They have a seasonal menu that is to die for!!! Thankfully for me, it was Chiles en Nogada. Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! As a chef myself, I highly recommend the humble, yet completely inviting atmosphere and bomb food.
Authentic Mexican food!!! Love the aguas frescas, fresh tortillas, everything tastes fresh!!! Very kid friendly as well.
The most AUTHENTIC Mexican cuisine you can get in El Paso. Breakfast was phenomenal! Service is friendly and laid back. The kitchen is somewhat in view and you can see how tidy and clean it is. You can’t go wrong coming here. Aztec soup was the best I’ve had.
We had the "Nunca he venido" and the "Tacos Dorados". The presentation of the was food beautiful and the servings were very generous. It was very tasty and unique when compared to local Mexican cuisine.
The total cost for two was under $30.
I enjoyed my visit and will definitely return.
We love this restaurant. The food is some of the best you will find I El Paso and the service is outstanding. The owners, the chief and his wife, came over to our table and introduced themselves to us and call us by name now every time we go in. I highly recommend eating here!
Great restaurant. Very clean and great food. Their green sauce that you get with chips before you order is absolutely addicting!
Best refried beans too. You don’t feel guilty eating them, as they don’t taste like a tub of lard was thrown in them. I grew up in a Mexican home so chorizo is my weakness. This chorizo is not very good but everything else is great!
Just had a great breakfast at Piel Canela! The cafe de ojo was excellent as was the chilakiles. The red sauce is homemade. Very tasty. Can’t wait to try them for lunch. Nice clean and comfortable restaurant with friendly and accommodating staff!
Get transported to a quaint welcoming ambiance in Mexico. Amazing food. Not your typical Mestizo that you find in El Paso. Food was super fast and super fresh. The plating is a 5 star presentation. Every chile is unique in flavor with rich colors and tastes that I haven't found elsewhere. I would go back 100 times and just might
I have been to the restaurant twice with friends in the last two weeks. My friends and I LOVE the tasty food and great service. Am glad to have discovered this gem of a restaurant.
Food was awesome. Chair uncomfortable though. Small tall, like targeting a young population. They should at least have a couple of regular tables with chair for older patrons like us.
This place has amazing service and ambience! We need more restaurants like this in El Paso. Come by if you wanna have The the best caldo de rez of your life!
Delicious food and Great service! I encourage you to try it. You will love it too!
