Food was good. Both my wife and I had the breakfast burritos. Mine was with chorizo. Just came in from Seattle area and was not disappointed in getting some authentic southwest cuisine. Also had a very rambunctious toddler and the wait staff were amazingly patient with us!
One of the best value breakfasts in El Paso!
Just tried the entomatadas and the cheese enchiladas con salsa roja. Very good!!! I recommend the etomatadas which were on special.
Not too shabby!. Their caldos actually have some flavor, as opposed to the warm vegetable water they serve at places like La Malinche. They have pretty tasty and reasonably priced lunch specials and most dishes have that abuelita's home-style Mexican seasonings. Not worth a special trip, but if you're in the area definitely stop on in.
Ay que rico. Just love the food at the lunch box...large servings and the price is great...i love the menudo...tastes almost as good as my dads...
Good Inexpensive Mexican. Fabulous tortillas and the chips and salsa are always awesome. Places like this where you can spend under ten dollars for an awesome lunch do make El Paso special.
One of the best Mexican restaurants. I'm always happy to come here. The wait can sometimes be long but the food is always worth the wait. What sets this place apart from the rest is that they make their own tortillas. They are delicious and they even sell them separately. My favorite plate is their chiles rellenos. I just can't get over how good they are. This restaurant really shows what authentic homemade Mexican cooking is all about. They play live music on the weekends although the guy can get annoying when he sings in English since he can barely speak English. Overall, great restaurant and look forward to coming back soon.
This is what makes El Paso so special. Everytime I come to the Lunch Box I am reminded of the El Paso I grew up living in. Humble, warm and friendly people with a passion for budget friendly homestyle food. I have tried almost everything on the menu and some of my favorites are: the tacos desebrada, guiso de puerco chile colorado, the chile verde, enchiladas. They make delicious flour tortillas on site, do not pass them up! Lunch time is extremely busy and on the weekends there is always some interesting live music.
Breakfast is the best!!!! The chilequiles are oh so good!
The Menudo is the best!!. Great food, Inexpensive, good service, and it has the best Menudo in town.
My wife and I ordered the chile verde plate tonight. It was very good. It came with rice and beans. Great famy place with good abulita home cooking. Very inexpensive $
Had the enchiladas, and they were a bit too thick in sauce for my taste. The salsa, on the other hand, is one of the best I've had. They always have excellent service here.

Thr place was packed at 12:30pm but they moved fast and we didn't wait long. The food was delicious, hot, and fresh. Staff was fast and attentive. We loved watching the ladies make fresh tortillas and the decorations are spot on. Very good beans and rice!!!! Really good fresh chips and salsa.
Will be coming back next time I come back to El Paso.
Another local and authentic restaurant in El Paso. We visited 3 times while in town. I ordered something different each time and enjoyed the food every time. The breakfast options are great and traditional lunch specials. My husband loves the menudo and orders it at every visit. Their tortillas are made fresh!
Classic! Great place for tasty food. Atmosphere was welcoming and waitresses were very nice. Not crowded at all in the sense that the place is clutter or tables too close. Food was delicious. I plan to visit again for sure, highly recommend!
Went for menudo and tacos. Great call. Menudo was clean and flavorful. The tacos could have been fried a little more, a little soggy but, willing to look past it for the taste. The service was on point. Our waitress didn't hover nor did we have to look for her. A place to go back to? Definitely.
We were visiting El Paso and wanted to eat good Mexican food. Its a busy place, parking lot is almost full, that means good food. We did a good job chosing this place. Quick service, delicious food but big portion too. Friendly staff making sure everythings fine. Price is reasonable. They make their own tortillas and fun to watch the ladies making them. Highly recommended.
Friendly Service, it's seat yourself, which I like.
We went breakfast, and had the Menudo, Delicious 😋
I went there today when my son and I had an urge for AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD! We each had a combo plate with red enchiladas and gorditas-- which is NOT on their menu, but the sweet waitress had no problem with our requests. The service was pretty good, in spite of the fact that we were seated 15 minutes before their 3 pm closing time. Nobody pressured us to hurry on our dining experience. We took our time eating. The bottom line is that our food was VERY GOOD! I also enjoyed a FRESHLY MADE FLOUR TORTILLA-- which they made on site! I hope to back soon! :-)
I went on Sunday and the food at this awesome establishment it was extremely busy but even with that fact my waiter Adam made sure to make me feel at home and assist me immediately with anything i needed 10/10 awesome service would recommend
Have not been here since November 2019 so I ordered the only dish I will drive 600 plus miles for...the menudo. Still high quality menudo with great service. Taste delicious and satisfying whether it's been a day or half a year since I last had it.
