Good down home cooking....
I got the two pork chop meal with mashed potatoes and collards. I was really happy with it. I am very excited to have this place in the neighborhood. The staff is friendly and helpful. Looking forward to trying more things from the menu.
Simply amazing, is what sums up uncle chucks. Down home food cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and the food was exceptional. Very seldom do I find a place so delicious I leave wanting more. Congratulations to owner Chuck and his staff for an above and beyond dining experience my family and I WILL return. Thank you uncle chuck for the full belly and big smiles.

Friendly, reasonable prices & clean!!! Most food is cooked to order, so call ahead if you can't wait. To go orders only right now. Friedl chicken is moist, tender & crispy. Green beans are lightly seasoned, and mashed potatoes have nice chunks of potato (gravy, if you ask). Cornbread is moist & strawberry cake is made by owner's mother. Lots of other dishes I want to try.
Always good food at Uncle Chuck's. The staff is friendly, the service prompt and the food fresh, hot and amazingly good. My husband and I have been here many times and never disappointed. The mac and cheese is simply out of this world.
The Sunday buffet is always great. Not a huge variety of dishes, but each and every one is some of the best you've ever had.
I went to Uncle Chuck's this evening and ordered the turkey wing dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy and yams. The food was so doggone good. It was hot and the potatoes were homemade. I will definitely be back. The young lady at the register was very courteous.
3rd time visiting here. This is a GREAT place for chow. It's home cooked with an amazing flavor. The owner Mr. Chuck and crew are busy preparing your meal or sandwiches with a personalized touch. Seafood, pork,beef, poultry all cooked with perfection you will love. They also have a fresh fish polar avoiding with vegetables and sweets. They have desserts to sweeten your tummy. My personal favorite is the banana pudding cake. Try it Uncle Chuck out and you too will be wondering, ""Why Haven't I Been Here Sooner"". That's my take of this awesome place to feed your face.
A Hidden Gem!!! This food is amazing. U have to visit when u come. Hot and delicious just like home cooking. The mac n cheese is perfection. My pork chops were seasoned just right. My mother's chitterlings were delicious. A lot of people don't know how to cook like this; definitely coming back
Visited you establishment for the first time while bringing our son to Elizabeth City State University. The food was delicious and was very satisfied with everything. We will definitely come in again and try the buffet. Portion sizes were desirable for the price. The mac and cheese was the best we've ever had and the cornbread....delicious. Very glad to have found your restaurant. All the way from Greenville NC.
This place is awesome! Its about time we got a restaurant in EC, that serves REAL country cooking!!! The service was great, and the food was even better. We will be coming here on a regular basis. The fried chicken is the best I've ever had in EC, the collards were awesome, they have really good sweet cornbread, the yams will make you wanna smack your Momma, the turkey wings were to die for, the mashed taters were actually real and not out of a box and they were smothered in some awesome Thanksgiving style gravy!!!

I found this place on a search for soul food while working Hurricane Dorian for the local power company and what a find. Had the turkey wing dinner with mac and cheese. It tasted great!!! The customer service was good and quick. Dont know when I will be back in Elizabeth City but when I do I will definitely be coming here again!

This was our first time trying Uncle Chuck’s, believe it or not. When I go down Griffin St, it’s always to patronize SoHo and I don’t really see what’s across the street. So when I saw a story on Facebook today about it, I decided to round up my neighbors and order some stuff. The place is cute, very clean and modified naturally at the moment by taking smart precautions in this pandemic looming climate. This is greatly appreciated by me personally because of my young family members who cannot be vaccinated.
The food was awesome. Fried shrimp that’s cooked fresh and could rival any I’ve had in the OBX, mac & cheese that was creamy and delicious, buttery cornbread, and my personal hard to find favorite...fried okra. Done perfectly as well. For dessert we tried the banana pudding cake, and oh-my-honey-yes is what I believe I said after the first bite.
The prices are great plus dinners come with two sides and a drink. We got sweet tea, naturally.
We will be back, excited to explore many more of these delicious dishes.

This was my first time visiting after looking at the reviews. Everything was good. I got 3 meals with sides of fries, mac and cheese, cabbage, yams and green beans. Corn bread comes with it. Mac and cheese is the best I have tasted from a restaurant, homemade indeed. Definitely would go back for it. Got a stem in the beans but it happens. The meats weren't as seasoned as we would have liked so we had to add seasonings but to accommodate all consumers I can understand why. It's not bland we just had to add some extra seasoning to it. Nice meat portions I will be back.
So this was my 1st time eating here... the staff was VERY FRIENDLY and courteous... the menu is very clear cut!! Now let's get to the reason I came: THE FOOD!! I ordered the catfish& shrimp with yams and cheese&mac as sides.. IT WAS DELICIOUS!! The mac was like my mommas🙌🏾🙌🏾. The yams was 🤤 and now I need a nap!! The food lives up the name "soul food" . Also in our party the philly steak was ordered. It is huge and DEFINITELY worth the price!! I recommend this place for all to try!!!
This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. Everything is fresh, hot and homemade.the buffet is wonderful. It might not be the biggest buffet but the quality more than makes up for the quantity. There are Kings and emperors worldwide that do not eat this good. The staff is friendly and fast. Your tea will never go empty.
Ordered and dined in recently for the first time. The wait for us to get our food was considerably long. No one else was dining in at the time. But the staff was friendly, the portions were large (I had plenty to take home), and the food was fresh and good. Will try them again when I have time for the possible wait.
Some people are fun to watch eat for the sheer joy they exude - we were the ones to watch while we were eating at Uncle Chuck's! Fried trout, yams with a strong note of nutmeg, okra and squash, pork chops, green beans, and corn bread sweet enough that I saved mine for dessert. The collards stole the show, though. If we lived close to Uncle Chuck's, we'd but them buy the quart on the regular!
