We just had the best meal ever, my daughter had the raviolis with meat sauce she said they were hot and the sauce was excellent. My son in law had shrimp scampi and he said it was very good. My sister had a ground sirloin steak cooked to her liking and I had a ribeye steak cooked to perfection Pittsburgh style it was big enough for two people and cooked exactly the way I asked. The decor is old fashion and very warm made you feel cozy and glad to be there. The staff was spot on and the wait for the food was expected for something that was not frozen or microwaved.

6 of us went to dinner here. It's an old out of date restaurant and the place was almost empty. Counting us, there were 3 tables with customers. The waiter was friendly and prompt. We ordered dinner without appetizers. I ordered ribeye steak medium rare. My girlfriend ordered shrimp scampi. The meals came with salad which was brought to the table right away. The salad was a touch wilty but not bad. My steak was cooked to perfection. It was at least 16 oz. I ate every bite. My girlfriend said her shrimp scampi was delicious. Shrimp snappy and fresh. All in all, a good experience. We'll definitely be back.

Never hurts to make a reservation, but even if you don't they will always try to fit in parties of any size. The tender fillet medallions melt in your mouth with delicious flavor, with a garlic scampi style of sauce to rest in. The sooner salad with Italian dressing is spectacular, especially if you requires the crumbly blue cheese on it as well. The side dish of pasta has a very flavorful tomato flavor. The servers will always accommodate parties for birthdays and any other special occasions. Definitely enjoy some meals here and avoid the chain restaurants, you will not regret the choice.

I have eaten at many of the finest steak houses in this country. The best filet and sirloin I have had. They have many fine Italian dishes and marvelous shrimp offerings. Don't miss it if you are in the NY finger lakes region.

There is no better filet on the planet than Moretti’s. I hope this place lives on forever. Every time I come home to Elmira, it is a first stop. I have been eating here since I was 2 and can tell you they never disappoint. They have a simple menu that is so damn good, I don’t care how old the place is inside, I love Moretti’s. It would be my last supper with a filet and steak fries. Mark Dewey

Excellent Steaks and chops. Warm ambiance and fine service. The rumors about Moretti's imminent closing are untrue, unless they lied to my face. Support this local treasure and tell your friends.

Moretti's is more about people, history, and steak than fast and flashy atmosphere and service. I like to walk there, deep in the patch, just below de la papa's old building on Washington Ave., sandwiched between the old canal and the rail yards... So much more of an experience that way. The ribeye is simple, but delicious.

My husband Michael and I ate at Moretti's this past Wednesday, October 30th. Our dinners were delicious, not to mention the scrumptious cheesecake we had for dessert! Michael had Chicken Parmesan and I ordered the Gnocchis. The atmosphere at Moretti's took us back to the days of old after Zac, our waiter, put on Italian music. We didn't even have to ask him. He took it upon himself to make the ambiance of Moretti's in the Italian tradition it has built its reputation. Zac could not have been more of a gracious or fun waiter! I've read some of the negative comments below and have to say that not every place is going to be at its best all the time. I've been a patron of Moretti's for 60+ years, and have witnessed the love and support from the community the entire time. No place receives that kind of support if they aren't doing something right. My ongoing love for this special place will never die. My husband and I cannot thank Moretti's enough for the wonderful level of service they maintain. Thank you!

I have enjoyed going here since I was a little girl. I love the food and the old school atmosphere. It's pricey though and always has been but the service is not as good as years prior. Not enough staff to accommodate all patrons.

This is a classic Italian restaurant from the early 20th Century. Great bar! Steaks and chops are the best in Elmira. The pizza is very good. Service is solid.

Have to give Morettis a five star review. Talk about old school, all of my friends grew up in this restaurant. People from far and wide would come to Elmira for the filets. The fresh salads were the best and the pasta was homemade, sauce too. Even if it's not what it used to be, it would still have my sentiments from all of my holidays there. Y

I have been here several times and have never had a bad experience. Food is good, the service has always been good. Maybe slightly overpriced when you can get better food for the same price at Libs which is also right down the road.
