I love this place. Always have, since I first came here back in June, 2001. Physical environment matters. The big, airy space and patio are calming. And the food is good and the treats excellent. Every time I'm in the area, I stop to pick up a corn muffin or two to nibble on during my long drive home to Tucson.

My favorite coffee shop in San Diego county. I drive up here (Leucadia) from Chula Vista just for a coffee and a piece of pie ( many types, incuding gluten free). Excellent service.....tastes much better than Starbucks

Fantastic venue just outside Encinitas. Built in the 60's the Victorian style house has multiple rooms, a coffee roaster in the basement, the best array of cafe pastries and pies I have ever seen! I love blueberries and the mix them with Scones, muffins and bakehem in a pie! None of the pastries are oversweet. Also a veranda style porch, a beautifully landscaped front garden. This is such a chosen spot that even sparrows feel free to fly in the windows or through the open doors to steal crumbs of the tables! Bring your children, just for that. Bring your self, for that matter.

Imagine my happy surprise when I visited " Lazy Acres" on Washington St. and found a Pannikin coffee shop inside. It will be my cruise stop on the way to Balboa Park.

For 12 years this has been my favorite place to hang out. When in Encinitas you must visit The Pannikin!

I have loved the Pannikin since it opened as a coffee house and restaurant (being a native of Encinitas, I actually remember when the building was the Encinitas railroad station). The Pannikin staff are experts at moving guests through the ordering process quickly, which is a good thing given how popular and busy this place can get. My hot tip: do everyone in line a favor and figure out what you’d like to order BEFORE it’s your turn. It’s really the polite local custom. Enjoy a real authentic Encinitas experience here!!

The best coffee and hangout on the planet. Discovered it 30 years ago as my teenage hangout. I visit it every time I'm in town visiting. Best mocha I've found.

Best coffee I've ever had! I didn't try a cup until I was at the San Diego airport. Just looked your company up and boooo, you don't have a location in FL! :( Please expand to Florida, please, please, please!

Pannikin has ALL the neighborhood charm, along with great coffee, a wide selection of pastries, and a friendly, helpful staff. I came here as a kid in the 80’s and it hasn’t changed a bit — which I love. Best place in Encinitas to grab a caffeine fix, relax and people-watch.

Very interesting stop with a lot of character. Cappuccino was good. Note the kitchen closes at 2:00pm. They have a selection of delicious pastries. They also have a neat little shop with interesting toys.byou can also buy fresh tea leaves of every variety.

Nice local place for a morning cup of joe or tea. Very laid back atmosphere; friendly, relaxing and busy, busy, busy; which is great to see post-pandemic shutdown. Pacific Coast Highway has hundred of gems like “The Pannikin” along its route. Take time to find them and post them. Looking forward to returning soon for a refill and chatting with the locals.

The gluten free options are good. They are usually a rarity for coffee places. Blueberry muffin (gluten free) was nicely done. Saw a nice wall hanging that seems new.

One of my favorite coffee shops! Everyone working there is so nice and it has an amazing atmosphere. I only have one complaint. The to go cups leak like crazy. In the photo attached our cup holder is almost flooded and my boyfriend has yet to take a sip.

I’ve been going to this location for years. It’s such a perfect place to grab a coffee and a pastry and hang out or chat with a friend. I have done great memories there while hanging out with some great friends.
