Exhausted from a day of travel and hungry, I asked the desk clerk upon check-in: "Where's a good place for a fish dinner?" She answered that a local she knows loves 'Brigantine'...there's a few locations but the one that's very close is good, too.
Metered parking was free by dinner hour and we were a little concerned to see that the restaurant was on a 2nd level with a lot of stairs to climb especially with our physical challenges of the week. Luckily, they had an out-of-the-way elevator that brought us up to the kitchen. Food was good, service was great. Special pricing on wine Wednesday Nights!
Already sent relatives to another one of their locations further north.

We have been coming back here for 34 years since our first date and later our proposal at the Brigantine. Happy Hour salads and small plates, Taco Tuesday, Wine Wednesday! Amazing marinated swordfish with avocado butter. Great patio dining too!
OMG - amazing grilled chicken and mahi mahi tacos. We went for tacos Tuesday and tried one of each. It was too much fo 2 people, but would be perfect for 3.
Escondido Brigantine. Came here with a large group (12 of us) on a Friday night and really had a great experience. We were completely disjointed, arriving and ordering at different times but our server Serena took it all in stride, (even the crazy two year old running around). We had several appetizers - the oysters were my favorite with the onion rings a close second. I had the swordfish for dinner - it was cooked perfectly. Everyone was really nice - the manager even stopped by to make sure we were enjoying our dinner. We will be back!!
Came on a recommendation, the oyster brigantine were excellent.
We came on a Tuesday night and ordered Fish tacos, Oyster shooters, and Nachos with Fontina and Bleu cheeses-everything so delicious. Service and ambiance an A+. Will be going back next Tuesday.

We got the shrimp 🍤 appetizer with the sauce and everything was fresh !
We ordered tacos 🌮, salads and everything came out pretty fast.

The bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp is fantastic. Inside is too loud to have a conversation, but outside is fantastic. Heaters to keep you comfortable, no wind, great lighting, water feature making up part of one wall. Inocente was our server and reviewed the gluten free options on the menu. An absolutely wonderful evening..
Found this place after a long day at the San Diego zoo. Lots of food reviews and rightfully so. Started with the calamari which looked like mozzarella sticks but we're great when paired with the red spicy sauce(not super spicy but a good kick). My Wife ordered the tacos and I ordered the crusted mahi mahi. The vegetables were really really delicious. (Didn't take a photo but brother in-law highly suggests the swordfish)
The Rockefeller oyster were my favorite. The drinks were strong. Very nice spot, laid back and chilled. It was my birthday I got mud slide pie slice, it was really good. The crust was the best.
My wife and I stopped in on Thursday June 2nd for a quick (7:45pm) dinner. This was our second visit to this location and this time we sat in the bar due to the immediate open seating that was available. Great casual atmosphere and tasty Bar Plates. The Grilled Sonoran Swordfish Taco was our favorite. The Brig Classic Calamari Strips are served with a yummy Jalapeño white sauce that is definitely a “must try”. We will swing in again the next time we visit the Escondido area. Maybe next time we will linger a bit longer and enjoy something from the libation menu as well.

This experience was truly out of this world- my man chose well for our dinner date on Valentine's Day! The waitstaff are very courteous and polite. Didn't take long for us to wait for our table. Tip: we strongly recommend you place a reservation ahead of time, especially if you choose such a day to eat dinner 🍽️. We were served by Kimberly for a short time, who was very understanding of my man and I not too fond of beer or wine, since we prefer soda lol. So to any future customers who aren't fond of alcohol, no worries, they got you covered 😉. Then we were served by Maria, who was very observant and lovely- she helped us feel like we were her niños, calling us corazón ❤️. The wagyu burgers were AMAZING! They literally melt in your mouth so quickly, the fries are salty, but not to the point of drying out your mouth, which is awesome! The whipped butter for the bread is so good, my man was really impressed by the bread 😁. Needless to say, we will return there for another date night in the near future 💋. Thank you, ladies!! Hands down the best, most flavorful steak I have ever had in my life. They were incredible!! I wish we lived close so we could go again and again!
Excellent service, the wok-charred ahi was delicious. Other attendees had the wagyu burger which was pampered, and the shrimp cocktail was delightful.
