Honestly The food and drinks are so good that I need to go in with a weekly budget. The hail kale salad is absolutely to die for. The dressing they use can and will convert the pickiest of eaters to kale loving folks. The green monster smoothie is another favorite. My daughter also loves the granola. You can't go wrong when you are ordering off of this menu. We are excited about the newly expanded hours starting next week! 😊
This is the best place on earth - seriously! If you are not vegan, don't shy away from it, the treats are amazing and my non vegan friends had no idea - if you are vegan, this place is heaven!
Beautiful, comfortable atmosphere and the food was amazing! Healthy, fresh, everything hand prepared and most local sourced. The owner is friendly and the staff was helpful and attentive. Must try the vegan cheese spread! The raspberry crumb muffins were still warm and melted in my mouth. Spot on great place!!!!
always been a huge fan of sweet alchemy's baked treats since trying them at pingala cafe so i knew i had to check this place out when it opened, an of course it didnt disappoint, it actually exceeded my expectations which is tough since i was already drooling reading the menu online, i ordered the rainbow roots pancake, mac n chreese, a fruit crumble cake i think its called and peppermint tea, everything was delicious and really filling, the sad part was knowing my stomach had reached its limit and ill have to wait till next time for more epic eats, i will be back!, i will devour each thing off the menu one by one!
Amazing sweets clearly made with love and expertise! I've been gluten free and dairy free for six years and Sweet Alchemy has the best desserts I've had yet. (And I take dessert seriously!) The cafe space is a great environment as well - clean and warm with fun plants and prints.

In town visiting my daughter and son in law, I️ visited this delightful cafe. I️ sampled many of the baked goods- all were delicioso! And I️ had the waffle off the menu which was also very good. I️ am not vegan or vegetarian- so don’t shy away- you will find plenty to enjoy at Sweet Alchemy. The cafe has a great vibe..friendly, relaxing and chill. A perfect place to unwind and decompress. Well done!
This is my new favorite place! Friendly service, delicious healthy menu...love the avocado toast, tacos and bakery items...I should also mention how beautifully designed this sweet bakery is. I've been waiting for Essex to have a place like this for years.�

Not only is the food exceptional (I am systematically working my way through their menu), but the coffee is always delicious and the space radiates joy.
Excellent food, great service and a beautiful space. Didn't have room for dessert but oh so thankful that we took a couple of treats home for later... and they were absolutely delicious.

The Four Sister's Bakery is the best bakery in town-- hands down. With every bite you will encounter plenty of flavor, creativity, and quality. The baker, Bhava, is a delight; knowing that such a charismatic, conscientious human being is the mastermind behind the goodies makes the experience that much sweeter. And there's something for everyone! Whether you're looking for the cozy classics (OMG THOSE PB COOKIES) or prefer the delicate ensemble of pistachio rose cake, the Four Sisters Bakery covers all palettes. Also very accommodating; should you have a food allergy, don't fret--she's got your back. ;) Highly recommend!
This place makes me happy. I am a nutritionist at Alternative Roots Wellness Center in Essex Junction and have many of my clients ask for recommendations of local businesses that can help support their vegan and gluten free diets. I now tell everyone about this place. I like that the desserts are simply made, without a ton of fillers or overly sweet (when most people take gluten, dairy and eggs out of any dessert, they just sub it with a ton of additives and sugar) and that their new breakfast/lunch options are so varied and delicious. Have had a number of items from this spot and they’re all super filling, fresh and delicious. Particularly love that Mac and Trees, the spring rolls and the bowls! I’m so glad this spot exists! And can’t wait for many more dishes and delights from the menu!
Delicious food and friendly staff! Charming cafe in a beautiful countryside setting. So many great items on their menu. While the name says it all, there are of course a plethora of sweet baked items to choose from, but the same goes for their tasty entrees, fresh smoothies, plus their hot and cold drinks. Well worth the drive. Will be back again soon. Highly recommend Sweet Alchemy!
I was in the area and when i have the time i love to search for new vegan places to eat. There's not MUCH close to where i reside but my expectations were exceeded by a great margin . The menu was exciting. Multiple options to choose from. And the food even better so well made. Nice portions which is a plus because vegan food can be pricey. To be able to get a donut as a vegan brings me a sense of joy. This place is worth a visit. Looking for a snack? Baked goods? Latte? Smoothie? Breakfast? Lunch? Stop in now. This place makes amazing gluten-free desserts! The carrot cake is a must-have and the blueberry crumble was also fantastic. They also make a very good chocolate chip cookie. One of the best GF bakeries I've found.
Very cute. Very Vermont. Awesome vegan, gluten free, vegetarian, etc food. Want a Mate Latte with oat milk and maple syrup? They can do that.

I live my life online as any good millennial does - I buy and eat and otherwise consume with reckless abandon via the internet, and am never moved to write reviews. However: Sweet Alchemy is the most divine, scrumptious food in the greater Burlington area. They are also truly some of the kindest, loveliest folks around.
We started ordering their breakfast food and sweets about monthly, early in quarantine. I went in with low expectations - my partner is vegan, I am not (I like "real food", I told myself). But... mind blown. This is up there with some of the best food I have ever eaten - no exaggeration. Their baked goods are sublime, their savory foods (we get their breakfast specials, usually) will make you weak in the knees. This is the kind of food that makes you just... moan while eating.
I wish I had pictures, but we devour everything too quickly. I maintain that this is truly the best food in the area - we now travel up from Vergennes (about 50mn each way) to regularly get it. 1000% worth it. ILY, Sweet Alchemy.

I have never been to a better vegan establishment in my entire life. The food is absolutely amazing, fresh, filling, aesthetically pleasing, and that perfect line between healthy and soul food. All of the staff is lovely and so kind. I drive almost 40 minutes to get here and never regret it. Their baked goods are stellar💜 wish I could give more than 5 stars
